Questions....ask here (Fitment, Fender Modifying, UAS and coils)
Ok, entertain me. Questions will NOT BE ANSWERED here. They are a for a future project. But i want to make sure that everything you guys want is answered since im doing this project for you!
So if you have questions on:
How to figure out fitment
Changes in suspension (nissan mostly, but i know a little toyota)
How to fix suspension changes
How to modify fenders
Any certain aspects of the above
Questions about universal air suspension on coilovers
Details of the above
Be in depth guys. the more you ask, the more info you get out of this.
The reason i ask this is becuase i am doing a small series of videos to help newer guys, and even experienced guys know a little more.
First video is on choosing wheels. explaning offsets, wheel position in relativity to the offsets and widths etc etc etc.
I will explain why and how suspension is affected on NISSANS when you lower them, or change other settings and how to fix it.
Finally ill show a good array of offsets on a car so you can see the difference they actually make
Second video is making said wheels fit.
Rolling your lip
Pulling fenders
Adjusting camber, toe, etc etc
Third is an in depth on how to install UAS on coilovers
and all associated with it.
I have asked a few vendors to contribute to the equipemnt i need to buy, so the more people help out, the better quality you guys get in the end. If you want to contribute please let me know. I already have about 1500.00 into the equipment for this projet (not including the thousands of dollars in parts to do this) So all help is welcome!
Mods if you can sticky this it woudl be cool, and cross post in VIP 101
thanks

Grant. Could you elaborate on how to find out the optimal fitment a car can handle? Not by guestimating. I understand the concept on excessive camber and what not. But what is the best method of measuring for a setup? This question might help alot of others out too. Or i just may be the only dumbass on this forum,
Where to measure from to determine the maximum width of a rim..
Where to measure to find the right offset.
How to determine how much camber is needed so the geometry is setup to not have your rim kiss the fender(ive had happen one too many times)
How to determine proper tire size.
Will it matter if you put a UAS bag on your coilover struts that are setup for a 20k spring compared to a 8k spring? Will this cause either setup to blow the strut?

check the OP, ill post up what this is for

How to get the best out of your tire.
Factory eccentric bolt max adjustments.
When to get a camber kit, and when not to.
How to read a Alignment reading.
Got to start with the basics!

im pretty sure u got it all
youre gonna explain macphearsons tight?
oh and how to calculate offsets when upsizing from 19's to 20's

offsets dont change from size to size unless you arent running any camber at all
im not overing 20s. I dont think 20s have a place in VIP but thats just me. 90% of people with 20s dont need them becuase they are 4x4 in my eyes.
18s wil be covered, and demonstrated with becuase thats what i use. I have used 19s, and i just use the same offsets i used with18s. the overall diameter is only a half inch more on the that side of the wheel, so as long as your shit is dialed in, swapping isnt a deal

the best way to run air lines and how to fab the brackets needed to do Bags over coils??

Would really like to see the vid for installing UAS on coilovers as well as modifying fenders....will modifying the fenders be simply having them pulled or more along the lines of making flares or doing something to get a wider wheel without going widebody?

common sense (no offense), and brackets arent needed

a heavy pulling will be shown. a good inch and a half or so

Cool...I was just curious about the flares because I've pulled mine about an inch...any more and it will be way too wavy because of factory spot welds...either way, still looking forward to your vids :)

im curious about suspension setup, in reference to my 2GS. e.g. common issues and how to sort them out - crashing over bumps, bouncing etc.
i know it may be vague or hard to explain, but i am unhappy with the susp in my 2GS as it is crashy but still a bit soft. My brothers car (a live axle ute) with separate springs and shocks in rear seems to be firmer/less travel or stroke with less play in the susp and 19s and it doesnt 'crash' at all really. (he is running 35 series all round also but no stretch)

On your own
I can only speak for Nissan stjuff on suspension
if you are a little more specific though I can help you with suspension theory on how to makenit better

How to relocate a rear bumper mounting point where it meets the wheel arch so that the bumper matches the pull.
I want to know if adjusting my toe when the tires are off the ground will affect it once i let the car down back on the tires, and do i need to compensate for it..

Question for Yokotas13
I have a 20x10 et 0 with 245/30/20 on a 93 LS400 and it sticks out like this...
What is the best tire size I can use for daily driving with a good VIP stretch like the ones in your new project? Any other advice for the rear fenders would be helpful too. Thanks in advance!

grant, i wanna know if camber changes when u change the width and tire size of the wheels. when i had my stockers on i was at -3.9 and that was with 17x7.5 w/225/55 now that i have my 19x10 with 225/35, does my camber change.

as long as you didn't adjust camber then it shouldn't change. what method of camber measuring was used when whoever obtained -3.9°? but yeah, it should still be -3.9° because they will still be isosceles triangles.
Charley
and tire measurements shouldnt change anything, unless the tires were used in the equation, which would be overall a horrible idea in obtaining camber angles.
