coilovers and axle binding question

I wanted to lower my car a little bit more last week and i want to go lower but im concerned about axle binding because my car is not on air.

has anyone ever experienced axle binding? What does it sound like?

I have driven with my rear a finger off the ground(check the link in my sig.) and had the rear upper control arms bottom out on their mounts. No binding

and no issues at all. your axles will work WELL into the above horizontal position

this is in the nissa/infinity section where im 90% certain its rwd unless he is doing some weird shit

would the amount of negative camber take effect too ?

its not toooooo bad. a good amount though. enough for most normal people.


There are no ways, its just get low really. i had to buy toe and camber arms for that height

He has a G35 coupe with some realllllly sick wheels

thanks for the responses! u guys give me hope. my stance isnt right yet so plz be patient with me, i am a noob.   i have 2 things i need to do and i need help with the 1st.

1. rears - trying to lower the rears to gain more natural camber to "pull the wheel inwards" but i ran into some clicking noises from the rear of the car at low speeds 
2. front- add a little neg camber to the fronts and lower maybe another .5" (no brainer, ill worry about it after)

so my issue: my coilovers were all the way down in the rears w/245's but i wanted it lower. so then i did the g35 DIY [URL="http://g35driver.com/forums/brakes-suspension-diy/137046-diy-cutting-rear-springmount-aka-springmount-mod.html"]spring mount mod[/URL]; i cut out like 1" of the rubber and swapped for 235's

currently about -5 camber in the rears and about -2.2 to -2.5 in fronts and a new clicking noise from the rear of the car at low speeds

ive seen some guys on here with much more extreme camber.  At what point does neg camber have an effect on the axles?

i have a weird ass clicking noise too with -7* cambers; some people tell me it's because i have a rock stuck in my tire but i haven't had time to jack up the rear and actually look. your mileage may vary :)

any idea how much neg camber would cause this?  one side is louder than the other and the side thats louder has a little bit more neg camber...

steeb .. you know theres a TSB for rear clicking on our cars right ? the dealer took care of mine .. but from what i hear its a easy fix .. the fix is just lubing the points where the axles and diff meet .. 

what coilovers you running ? im running some stance GR+ coilovers and they have PLENTY of height adjustability, with the stance coilovers, you prob could max out the drop and drag exhaust

im on tein super drifts, 350evo front camber arms. Id like to pick up a pair of ikeya forumla rear camber arms tho.  The coilover adjustment is not the issue. I can go a lot lower but i was wondering about the noise. I had no clue of the TSB.  im not too active on the g forums but ill look it up and try it tomorrow.

Will someone be kind enough to enlighten me as to what "binding" means?  The only search I came up with was a VW thread talking about replacing transmission mounts due to binding.

this is the best i can do .. watch the vid .. front or rear or AWD cars have a drive axle/half shaft/mini axle (whatever you want to call it) with a CV joint, to transfer power/motion to the wheels .. when he means binding, he is talking about when the joints reach a angle to the point where it wont rotate "FREELY"

As GLuXuRy states, it more than likely is the axle click issue. I had that when my car was under warranty and got it taken care of at no charge...now it's starting to do it again every now and then, but it's not bad so I leave it as is...

i just took at look at the youtube and it seems like you guys might be right.  unfortunately, i been busy at the shop the past few days so i havent gotten around to greasing up my axles. 

its been getting super loud lately. when i drive with the window open i can hear the echos going ....."click" "click" "click".....  i better get to it soon... is it going to damage anything?

well im glad were getting some where with the noise .. i personaly dont think it will do any damage .. its just metal to metal contact .. i havent heard about anything getting damaged if you dont fix the click noise .. just drive easy
