UCF20 Upper control arm

Im currently on BC Coils and my upper control arms are hitting the body.

I have seen where you cut a hole where the control arm is hitting so it comes threw instead of hitting.

Anyone on here done this?

What have other UCF20 owners done to fix this besides air ride?

You can't fix this with air ride.

Cutting a hole would be the only way to fix it,

or raise the car, but that's dumb

I meant riding high with air ride because with coils your forced to ride low all the time. But have you done it before?

I just dont wanna get my angle grinder and cut away at my car before having someone else thats done it before. But if no one replies with any past experiences ill just do it. and yes raising car very dumb.....its like going full retard you just dont do it haha

im getting prepped to cut out notched for my UCAs, and we did 2 notches at my shop earlier this year. as long as you're careful with a grinder or a plasma cutter, you'll be fine. or, take the wheel off, drop the suspension, drill a 1/2" hole, and use a sawzall.

interesting note, the audi a4 (b8 chassis) already comes with a cutout to allow the UCAs to pass into the engine bay, if youre low enough. they even have a nice plastic cover bubbled out.

I was thinking the same thing once I cut it out so that dirt and water dont get inside my engine bay.

Thanks

I know what you mean about not wanting to cut away at the car haha kinda is heart breaking. But yeah I haven't done it yet because I can't get the car low enough. My fenders are resting on the sidewalls of the tires.

I know a lot of guys that have used hole saws for the ucas holes, ive seen honda guys cut squares. I think it should be fairly easy if theres marks on it already, if not hmm. Maybe you could take off the shock, and compress the suspension to see where it hits and mark it with some grease. and drill a hole where it marks the center and drill it out. Go from the top and use a hole saw coming down.

But then again i've never done it before, hopefully you can get some responses from others here.

from what i've seen, this is common for GS owners too. it should be the same method.
hole saws mostly. just wonder how they line it up correctly

one thing you need to watch for is the clearance of the items above the cut. i know on my car, the ecu box needs to be dismounted and moved, as well as my hid ballasts and some tubing.
