How's it goin fellas? I've been a viewer here for a little bit and the VIP style really catches my eye. I have quite a bit of plans, but so far I've got wheels taken care and I'm working on the interior slowly. I need to re-order curtains as the ones I got are too big, plan on doing some wood trim, and redoing the interior down the line in leather, not really a fan of suede, I don't find it as luxurious as leather. I have a few things I'm working on that I haven't seen in any cars really, so hopefully I can get that finished soon and I can get some criticism, positive and negative...
Here's a few pics of the most recent setup. The last few pics are most current, FINALLY got the fenders pulled even more, so no more rubbing. Getting a stiffer coilover setup in a couple weeks so I can lower the rear a little more. When I get the funds, I'll finally be on bags...after my 5th coilover setup.
For those that are curious about wheel specs, they are 20" Work Varianza T1S step lips. Fronts are 20x9.5 +3 (soon to be -7) and rears are 20x10.5
+ 0. I owe a great deal of thanks to Thinkdiesel aka Cookie Monster as he is the one that pushed me to go with these wheels. I will be going with 225/30's in the front and 235/35's in the rear in the future. Right now I have 225/35 all around.
Enough talk, picture time:
When I first got the wheels on after putting smaller tires in the rear....some fender pull, not enough
Some of the damage incurred :(
This isn't how I drive, just was looking at fitment after getting the rears pulled a bunch more.

Thanks guys. I just washed the car today and saw that part of the wheel on the rear already has hit fender, not too much of a gouge, guess I have to drive even slower than I already do, lol.

Wow very aggressive specs on the sedan! Needs more camber!
What kind of tires are you running?

Most definitely, but I'm limited to camber. I'm at -3.5 right now and it's the most I can do without screwing up my toe. Getting Stance GR+ coilovers in a couple weeks and then I'll be able to run a toe arm. I'll probably have to add another degree or so of camber.
In the front I'm using what they came with, Toyo Proxes 4's and the rear, Hankook Ventus V4's.

Yep, wanted to do 15mm spacers in the front to be at -12, but unless I get camber arms, it's going to look ugly. 10mm should do the trick

Lol, thanks...tire shop told me to put a 235/35, but I had a feeling it wasn't going to cut it...even with the 225's it wasn't till I did an extreme pull on the fenders.

Thank you very much Alex of Battle Version for getting me some toe arms and getting me longer camber arms....not only that but he did a few things to make my wheels fit better. I need front upper A arms so that I can camber the front, but here are some temporary and teaser shots of the rear.....try to guess how much camber :)
(BTW, this is not yet complete, almost there...some more body work to be done, some more cambering in the front and some spacers. Rears seem fine but I'm keepin an eye on em for now)
Camber in the rear is at.....
scroll down some......
and some more....
ready???
-7.5 degrees. It was a lil more earlier but with some fender work Alex was able to bring it down. I might need some custom toe arms, but for now they seem fine. Originally camber was at -8.2 degrees.

The flare in the rear was the only way to get my alignment done. It originally wasn't flared up. I started off at -4.2 camber and the inside lip was hitting the fender. Even where I'm at now, it's not clearing, it will occasionally hit the outer part of the lip (no the face though). I'll be getting stiffer spring rates to prevent this, but had it not been flared upward, I'd be incurring a ton of damage.
Eventually I plan to go widebody and do a crazy wheel setup, I wanna get a 7" lip out of 12 or 13" wheel. Won't be for a while, but it will get done.

I wouldn't go past 11" the wheels are too close to each other from the rear view. It will give an american muscle look. You can get the same amount of lip from a 11 or 11.5 and achieving more camber with a smaller wheel is much easier.
It is nothing personal, I tell the same thing to my GS friends. I had 13's on my ride and felt it was over kill. Just something to think about.

Thanks for the info. I'm all for suggestions. I just figured that with a widebody I could go with much wider rims. I guess it all depend on how much more clearance I can get. Well width is not as importantto me as offsets. I'd prefer a big lip, so I'll definitely look into that when the time comes.

I got 'em from Battle Version. Each pair runs for 275. I chose them over the SPC/SPL because I got a good deal from a friend that was selling the camber arms and the toe arms were the same price as SPL's, but they could be adjusted much more than the SPL's.

Yeah, I'm not feelin it much myself either, but it had to be done when I didnt have much fender space. Now that I do I'll be going with a 235/35 or a 245/35. Can't decide which to do

That will depend alot on the tire too. Since the sidewalls may differ. Go with what will give the right clearance without looking all driftarded.

IMHO, That stretch is perfect, it will allow you to go lower once you get the fender fixed and get a good set of coilovers with spring rates around 16k front I would preload and maybe about 12 or 14K rears. but that's just me. I love the stretch and I also love that the camber is about even front and rear. Love it.

I really do want to go lower, but not sure I can in the front. I barely make it up my driveway now and I can't park on the street at night (I'll get cited for it). I'll be looking into getting a stiffer spring rate in the front but the rears definitely need to be stiffer, I'm thinking about 14k. I have the Stance GR+ on at the moment.

I'll take some pics, but the problem is that even though it's got room for 2 cars, one car is parked on the side so it ends up being a 1 space entry. Only other way I think of getting in is if I drive on the grass.

Must have taken lots of practice. Here's a couple pics of my driveway.
I tried coming from the side opposite of the grass, and that turned out to be worse somehow..the wheel scraped the fender. I usually come from the side nearest the grass. Think I'll just stick to that. I can probably lower it a tad, but then I would have problems at school, I go SUPER slow over speed bumps and there is 1 that scrapes my y pipe. I'm thinking about getting the exhaust raised, if possible.

I'm thinking about getting the exhaust raised, if possible.
^
OOOOOHHH, wow you driveway is actually wider and less sloped than mine is. The thing is you always have to come in the driveway driving towards the side with grass. Just drive exactly parallel to your driveway and as close to the curb on the street as possible (don't wanna curb those kicks) then as soon as your rear end is even the opposite corner of your driveway begin turning into your driveway. Continue going only slightly slanted, yes you will have to drive on your grass but not much. Once you have the front and rears wheels of the opposite side of the car on the beginning of the driveway your good, now you can straighten up or reverse a lil if you need to in order to get into the garage. The Important thing is that the front and rear wheels of the side of the car facing the driveway reach the incline first and being that nothing is lower than your tires everything else will clear. With that said you could go much lower. Of course once your comfortable with this method. And as far as school goes speed bumps are a no go period with a slammed vehicle. If I came to one, I turned around point blank. I parked further away from buildings, etc. It's a well worthy sacrifice in order to prevent unnecessary scrappage... LOL.... Love the car as I said b4. But I feel like if your going for aggressive stance and fitment, than the rest of the car should be built around that no compromising. But again that's just me.

I'll go ahead and try that out. Once I get my Stance coils on in the front (slight issue with them so only have em in the rear) I'll lower it a little and try to get used to it and then lower some more...granted most places I go aren't too difficult to get in or there is parking somewhere nearby. Gonna have to keep an eye out more carefully now.

Thanks :) Got a link to the post? I tried looking (assuming it's the link in your sig, but couldn't find anything).
You guys think I should put 15, 20 or 25mm spacers up front. I was originally going to do 10mm and add slight camber, but now that the rears are super cambered I am going to match the front somewhere close to that.
BTW, here are some updated pics....

Oh trust me it does. The wheels still hit the fender..shoulda ran your finger along the lip of the wheel and you would see the metal from the fender that has grinded into the wheel. If I had a +3 offset, I would have been able to clear it...btw, your rims look much nicer in person. Love the way it sits.

Thanks for the added compliments. Just an update, my Cusco negative upper A arms for the front will be delivered soon and I'll put those on, along with 15mm spacers up front and those will hopefully be installed end of next week. Fronts should match the rears so the stance will be on point.
Also the Garson curtains are back in stock, will pick up a set for the front and rears on Monday. I got the Garson hood badge but I'm not sure whether I want to put it on my hood or if I want to mold it on the center of my grill. I'll take some pics and get some of your guys' input. Next step is to fix the rear fenders and the dent someone left on my front fender and then lower it some more. Will update you guys with pics soon.

Lol. I cut it it to fit just right. There is some slack between the headliner and the actual roof so the added pressure from the pole against the headliner keeps it still, but I'm looking to get it permanently mounted. Need to take off the headliner ot figure that out, probably will have to weld a plate to the roof and drill into that plate or something. This way the women can actually work the pole, lol.

Some of this may be repetitive from before, but I'm too lazy to edit what I copied from postings on another forum, lol....
Updates to the ride (copy and paste from forums)....
My setup is done for the most part. Custom Battle Version camber arms in the rear, Battle Version toe arms, and customized Cusco front upper A arms. I'm still not happy with the stance in the front, but that will change soon. Gonna throw a 25mm spacer on and camber another 1.5 degrees so it matches the rear more. I'll do it when I got the money to do some more custom work. I'll also work on fixing up the rear fender....enough talk, time for specs and pics.
Work Variazna T1S. 20x9.5 -12 (with 15mm spacer) and 20.10.5 +0 (NO spacer). Tires are 225/35 all around. Now that I have more fender room in the rear I'll step it up to a 235/35 and the fronts will be replaced with a 215/35. Front camber is -4.7 and rear camber is -7.5.

Lol...that guy eurodre seems to think he knows it all. Neither him or Shanes G like the excessive camber. They don't think it's necessary but they don't own a sedan and don't realize I can only pull my fender so much so that I don't pull out the part where the door closes.
Even besides that, I want it to be cambered like that in the rear and they don't feel it looks good.... no problem, they don't have to. He then tries to get into how my car is not the platform to be "VIP" and that wheels and camber don't mean VIP either.
I guess I have to be fully complete with my car before I can follow a certain style. I just found it funny how he tried to talk sh*t saying I have OEM sideskirts still (keeping till I go one-off body kit) when he has OEM everything minus wheels and coilovers. Made me laugh..then tried to edit but he was a slow ninja.
Oh well, people will hate. I don't mind. I do it for my pleasure, not theirs.

Lol, yeah that's still gonna go further out. I saw the wheels I wanted to get today, just not in the same finish... Garson DR302's. I want a wheel similar to that eventually, but probably with a flat face.

Agreed. I like Shane's car, Eurodre's is too simple for me, just has wheels and good offsets, but I think he can go more aggressive if he want, but he wanted to be a lil subtle, which is cool. But you got it right on point, sedan and coupe are definitely, completely different.

I guess if you want elementary kids around your car, go for it. Then again, monkey bars in a car can act like a roll cage.
I prefer having the 18+ women around and in my car, keeps me from gettin locked up when doin the :giggity:=)

Been a while since I've done much with the car. Finally got a muffler on, Sebring, and it is sick. I'll get sound clips and better photos soon. I'm going to end up doing a full exhaust in a couple months with this shop, can't wait for that. Here are temporary pics.

Yeah they're hardcore. After spot welding the pipe to the muffler they took it off and welded it completely off the car unlike some other place I went to when I had done my muffler delete and added a tip. Real cool too...worked on the car for an hour and a half, charged me only for half an hour cos he said it was realistic labor since he was bulshitting for an hour lol.

I'm definitely going to do that down the line. Right now i'm in a money crunch with several projects goin on for the car and starting up a business.
How much do you think it would cost to do fender flares made of sheet metal? I was planning on saving that for my next set of wheels when I go with wider wheels and lower offsets and then do a full repaint because I'd need a 2nd car, which I don't have right now..my previous beater was truly a beater and I had to sell it, cost too much to maintain.

Just a little update. I got harassed by the cops right in front of work (city hall) and long story short because I mentioned the tires rub against the fender only going up driveways the cop didn't believe me and said I must rub constantly.
So he gave me a ticket and said my vehicle was unsafe to drive and I could only drive it home or get it fixed. Got it taken care of the next and I gotta say, if you need any suspension work, custom or just simple alignment or corner balancing let me know. Alex, the owner of Battle Version is a cool guy and hooked it up.
Basically he pounded the crap out of the inner fender and pounded the outer portion out some more. The springs were compressed way too much on the coilovers so he fixed and since then I haven't scraped one bit. I just need some fat chicks to text it out now.
The fenders look like crap and I really need some work done on them asap. Here's the shitty part. When I want to go more aggressive, I can't because my fenders are pretty much maxed out to where they can't be pushed or pulled out more so I have to get into cutteing the inner fender and then pulling and hammering the fenders out some more. But at that point I'm better off just cutting the fenders and adding sheet metal. Won't be for a while, but that will be my next step.

Lol. I may be screwed on that ticket, cop wrote non-correctable and it's a $255 fine. I'm definitely going to fight it.
Anyway, I'd like some input...i'll copy and past from the g35 forum....
Time has come for a new bumper. I am torn between two different styles. First and foremost, my photoshop skills suck. If someone can make the bumper IP, I'd appreciate it. Second, I hope Sammy is cool with me using the bumper from one of his pics, it matched up pretty well with the way I had a pic of my car and the way he had his. I will probably have this made sometime in January.
That said, Kenstyle or Benzstyle? Also, I'm curious as to weather I should have single projector fog lights or dual projector fog lights. If I do dual, I'll have to remove the housing and make another one to fit both, basically there won't be a vent on the sides, it will merely be for the fogs, but if it's single it will be just like the other Kenstyles.
I've been planning things for quite some time, several months now, and it was this or the Impul, but I think Tim (ttrank) had the Impul going so I wanted something different.
Kenstyle
Benzstyle
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND I'M NOT GOING FOR AN OVERLY AGGRESSIVE LOOK. MORE FOR THE VIP LOOK.
Here's a couple other ideas I had. One is to incorporate a mesh style grill, but I think it's more sporty than luxury.
I'll post another one up, but I'm wanting to get an M45 hood piece in chrome and also do an emblemless chrome grill (or one like the OEM color if possible).
Don't mind the chrome bumper moldings, I'm not going to do that (unelss it's molded on and that won't be for this setup, would also have to be molded on for the doors and the rear bumper and not so thick as well either).
So far on the G forum, most people seem to like the Kenstyle with single fog lights. I'm leaning more towards that route since it requires no modification to the bumper besides combining it with my current bumper, so the cheapest route. However, I'm wondering if I should also keep the bottom bar in the lower vent or have it removed as pictured...this is the bar I'm talking about.

Damn dude. Sucks about that cop, hopefully you succeed in fighting it.
When I first started rolling dumped with the 12" in the rear, I feared getting pulled over for being too low, wheels being too wide to fit in the wheel wells, or even exhaust being too loud hahaha. But it seems like cops in my area don't care too much at all about my ride. I got more harrassment in my S13's than the Q. Its all good though, I ain't complaining that I don't get pulled over, its just weird not worrying everytime I see one pass :turbonoes_3:
Back on topic, I agree with the Kenstyle, no bar. I personally like its lines. And that lower mouth seems to match up well with the openings on your grill. Don't know if I can explain in well, but like the U shape they make both flow well \______/ <--- Like that. Where the Benzstyle is opposite and goes against the grill's shape. Not sure between the single or dual fogs though. The contoured shape of the single fogs, looks weird, dunno, maybe sportyish, not sure. And don't know how good the duals, but if you got a reputalbe shop, id do duals. I typically find cars with dual fogs to be sexier than singles. Plus it'll make you different from the rest. Good luck man, the ride's comin along great, and you got nice plans for it, keep it up

To be honest it's only certain areas. I live in Arcadia and (knock on wood) haven't been pulled over, and I thought they were d!cks. Glendale is a 50/50, just depends on the cops. Hopefully all goes well.
I completely understand whaty you're saying about the Kenstyle, that's what I was leaning towards. I was thinking if I go wiht single fogs to paint the fog light housing black so from far it doesnt look like it stands out as much, I would rather have had it flush, but that'll take more work.
My ultimate dream is to get the lights from the most recent Q, the crazy 7 bulb projector ones...running dual fogs with those and low beams as well, but I don't have that kinda money (I'm assuming it will cost several grand just for the proejctors).
berlinas2k2;291379 wrote:I hope you get the hook up on tires with that much camber!
It's actually not too bad of wear. I haven't fully been on one set of tires because my first set deflated, and my 2nd set went through a lot of rubbing (larger size). My next setup will be a 225/35 but with a General tire so it would be closer to the 235/35 of the Hankook. Full set of tires is about 550 - 600 mounted and balanced. Not too bad, but it's the cost I gotta pay before I can do some extreme fender work.

My ultimate dream is to get the lights from the most recent Q, the crazy 7 bulb projector ones...running dual fogs with those and low beams as well, but I don't have that kinda money (I'm assuming it will cost several grand just for the proejctors).
I hope you get the hook up on tires with that much camber!
Yeah you'll be droppin some serious cash for all them projectors. You're talkin about the gatlings I'm sure.
But yeah that yellow G has the contour painted black, but it still looks a lil weird. Don't know how duals would work though, or what set of duals could be used for an app like that.
You plannin on goin air soon, or you stayin on coils with the kit?

Yeah, talking about the gatlings. I do plan on goin on air, just a matter of time. I really want to be riding to the point where it looks like my fenders are on the rims.
Here's a couple more chops, found out how to change the color of the bumper, maybe not the correct way but good enough. Chopped up single and dual proejctors.
For quick reference, here they are:
As for the projectors, here's ones I was considering, not really sure how good they are though.

Just came across these, but going with the others would save me quite a bit:

Nice
Still say the duals, but not so much like in the chop. Something more like in a staggered set would look dope. Like to follow the curved shape of the bumper. Having the inner, of the duals, more forward than the outers (if that makes sense hahaha wish I could make some sorta demonstration) but at the same time making it so they don't pop out past the bumper, just sorta flush, or sunkin in a lil.
Damn I'm gettin too into this, its your ride not mine hahaha sorry :pat:

Yeah, you got it. Felt like my explanation sucked LOL
+1 for Duals/ No Bar
And +1 for rockin aero with coils.
I love riding dumped on coils all day, and want to go aero aswell, but not at my height. That's keeping me from even attemping it

I actually gotta raise my car since my bumper hangs so low but I'm too lazy since it's cracked already lol. When I get the new bumper I'll probably make it a little higher, or just raise the car by half an inch since I'm tuckin some of the tires as it is. It's about 3" above the ground. 3.5" would help out quite a bit...4" is money but too high for me.

Damn :( you gotta do whatcha gotta do, especially with the custom work your gonna be doin
Going aero wouldn't be worth having to raise my car. I like my quarters sittin a half an inch from my lips on 18's. If i were to do that, id stay at my height but them bumpers I know wouldn't last, my stock hits at times as it is. Id be needing cheap aero for that :(

I gotta use the karookie one. Basically cut it in half and cut the kenstyle in half. use the top from karookie and bottom from kenstyle. I dont think you'd want a cracked bumper anyway, especially one with 4 cracks lol

Pisto, ive been looking at the crops for a while now, and the kenstyle with the dual fogs looks great, but the only thing that throws me off is when you look at the black grill to the white bar bumper bar. I think without that contrast it would look spot on:biggthumpup:. What you like?

To be honest, I think I'm going to go with single bar, single fogs only because I'm really tight on cash and it's going to be the cheapest. I think the dual fogs would look pretty sweet.
The grill won't be black (gonna be close to OEM color). I swapped it for an OEM grill already, just need to make it emblemless when I have the time.

No idea yet, haven't even looked into it. I'm thinking about doing the face OEM color or whatever is close to it, possibly a chrome color, and the part that goes back, do those black..if that makes any sense lol

If SanDiegoG35 used what I've used in the past, its the finish quality of the paint. Ish doesn't have that high reflective finish and looks very dull

I was gonna guess Duplicolor or Krylon. I was probably gonna take it to a shop to do have them use automotive paint. I'd do it myself but it's the emblem delete that's a PITA. My last one looked good from far, but up close you could tell where I had to go over it. For wheels and other parts I've painted I've used Montana paint. Used mainly for grafitti and whatnot, but works well. I've used both flat and gloss colors and they came out great on the wheels, not that expensive either.

Yep, most definitely...here's a few pics. For the Matte black 17's I used Montana Gold, I believe about 5 or 6 bucks a can. 3 Cans covered all the wheels, bout the size of your regular can.
The gloss black came out well and I used 3 cans of their XXL size (basically 1.5 cans of a regular can). That was $8 per can and it covered all the wheels including the barrels.
These are all with only 1 layer of paint and I rushed through it. Great thing about these is that you can change out the tips to be wide or small, and they're virtually drip free.
Very dirty pics on the 17's....well the first one.
19's

Decided to add some chrome trimmings to my rear fenders since there are paint chips. Did this as a bandaid till I get the fenders smoothened out and repainted. Also relocated the Garson hood badge to the trunk to cover up the holes our stupid sedan has when you remove the emblem.
For the fenders, I messed up, but gonna redo, you can see one piece where I cut off the trimming and there was a gap so I put another piece there. The other side came out just fine though. I'm just too lazy to redo. Also some pics of my JDM ashtray/cup holder. The trimmings may look tacky in pictures, but in person it flows really well, especially with the theme of my car.

It actually does. The side that I took the pic of is higher than the other. I'm too lazy to adjust. It really needs to be about 2" lower to be where I want it, about 1" for daily driving, but then the rims hit the inner part of the fender still so I gotta 4x4 it :(

More camber or pull??? Although both are lookin pretty mean already hahaha
But 4x4'n don't sound too bad right now, over here streets are gettin all flooded, luckily I know how to take streets around all that.

Yep, to cover up the gap between the glass and the roof. It's gettin flooded 'round here too. I don't have fender covers or an underbody cover either. My intake has some ghetto azz plastic fender cover pieces that I tied up with some sorta string to keep it from getting wet, lol.
I don't wanna add more camber, I mean I could, but probably would have to be at -9 if I did..i get harassed enough by some cops and don't want anymore inner treadwear than I already have. Fenders, unfortunately I can't bang out anymore. It's pretty much maxed out because I would need to do some cutting.
Any idea what tool to use to cut the fender and how costly it would be to have someone do it? Cos if I did that I can do an extreme pull, dial in a lil bit of positive camber and drop it some.

Hahaha yeah, I need to work on making a skid plate myself. 1 to keep the rain out. And 2 to scratch that up, instead of my undercarriage.
You get F'd with by cops with that camber?? Damn, then I hope I can get a mean pull. Probably won't be able to, but just hope so. What's happened with that one that gave you a ticket?? PM if you don't wanna post publicly.
Don't know anything about cuttin fenders/quarters though. I'd imagine most any cutting tool should work, as long as the guy using it knows how to use it i.e. die grinder, sawzall, plamsa, whatever. But costs???? Got no clue. Just make sure you find someone skilled with metals. I'd want more metal than bondo filling my fenders.

I extended the ticket..gonna do a trial by declaration and write how stupid the cop was, not in those words though. Basically state how the same law enforcement agency has pulled me over to ask about the camber and said it was fine and that when I told the officer I only rubbed going up driveways it was an extreme angle and he thinks the roads are uneven so it's the same concept, but it's not because I have coiloveres, high spring rates, sway bars, etc to keep the body from less travel side to side, bla bla bla...and if that doesn't work I'll take it to court with 3 expert opinions from a tire shop/mechanic.
I'd realy wanna cut the fenders myself, but I don't have the tools nor do I have the skill. It's basically just two slits that need to be cut and then I can pull. I guess I just gotta deal with it. Maybe I'll shave off a couple mm off the wheels. I'm sure that will help, but I have no idea on the costs for that.
Hahaha damn, well I hope it goes well for you. You do seem to have it well planned out, and it helps going into it well prepared =)
How and where were you thinking of cutting the fenders??? I'm a lil lost on that part. Like radiusing em?? Or widening??

Yeah huh, looks almost like it belongs there. My Q has that stock.
Nice touch. And the one on the trunk too. Its different, but in a good way.

Yeah, trunk not sure if I wanna keep...gonna sit on that and get input from ppl in person.
As for the fenders, I was thinking about cutting the inner part part, basically slit them because it looks like this |/ basically from the bottom of the fender the inner part separates from the outer, thus on the inside there is a gap. if i cut through that gap I can get more of a pull...not sure if that makes any sense. but then I'd need to fill up the part that was just cut, otherwise i'd get water and debris in there..so it would require some welding.

Oh now I see what you got planned. What about hammering up the inner part till it reaches the outer part. Is that possible???
It'll close up the gap you have, plus should move higher up, giving you room to pull the outer part wider.

Did that last time, it's pretty much maxed out. Next step is cutting. Basically when there's a rough dip, and I have a full load it will rub and ever so slightly scrape the wheels. I dunno, maybe I'll dial in a little more negative camber. But then I gotta get custom to arms....should I do it? It's a swap for the ones I got plus 45 bucks. I'll get an alignment and corner balance done for dirt cheap. I'll probably be at -8.5 to -9 camber, possibly just at -8. Currently I'm at -7.5...thoughts? yay or nay?

You can't sqeeze out that .5* out with what you have. That should fix it, if you are rubbing that slight amount??

It's hard to tell where it rubs...the wheels cambers in of course, but it hits the inner part of the fender...i'm just unsure of exactly where...

Is your rear suspenion anything like the Y33, S13, S14 rears??
Like if you were to remove the coilover out, would it still react as it would normally?? Traveling up and down.??

Here's how ours looks...however, I don't have that spring or the bucket...it's replaced with a toe arm. The spring is on the shock, same way it is in the front. (no need to pay attention to the arrows, just a random pic i found)

Alright, this may still work. You could try removing the coilover, and leave the other arms all attached. Take a jack, or even by hand, and lift the hubs up and down. Everythin should still travel up and down as it normally would. Only now, the spring ain't there to push resistance back to you, so you'll be able to simulate full load. And with your wheels on, you'd see exactly where its rubbing. Hope this makes sence

Yes, completely....I would do that before but with the coilover attached and it would be difficult towards the end (spring compression). Thanks for the tip. Gonna try that out when it stops raining.
Talked to the guy that does my suspension work and he said I'm already at the point of now return for treadwear so might as well add another degree or whatever need to clear.
Now...i'm trying to figure out if I should go back to the stock bumper for the time being so I can get the clearance I want and slam the car to where it looks like your car and be on coils. That's the look I want, but with the bumper I have, it's impossible.

Tell me about it. I would so love to do aero, but buying the kit I want is not worth the damage it'll receive and in my opinion would be a complete waste of money

Thought about that, but then I gotta adjust suspension each time too. It's one particular area. Glendale. Every other place is cool. Shoot, even the city I live in I dont get harassed. They really don't care...I drove with my bumper off, mad camber, tinted windows, and the cop got behind me and turned down about a minute after. No big deal.

Just roll out to the show and slap on the kitted bumper right there. You ain't gonna be so low that it'd hit the ground, would you??
Sucks its only that area. Cause of them, now you can't roll all gangsta cause of them. And only them.

Hmmm..that's a possibility, but honestly, it would be so low that it's maybe 1/2" to 1" off the ground. I'd be about 2.5" off the ground with the OEM bumper, maybe 3"...and the aftermarket bumper is a good 1.5 - 2" lower...just a hassle to take it off and say I pick up some females at the shows and wanna bounce with them...gotta take the bumper somewhere lol.
This is why I need air suspension...just wish I had the funds for it.

Most definitely. I mean I'd go with a cup kit, but it costs so much..more than the price I can get air for. And with air I can ride dumped all day, not gonna be one of those guys that gets air and rides up high...unless i ride it all the way up high and then dump it, haha...but as for ride quality, i've been in a G (37) it was the one that was at the autofashion meet..and it has a smooth ride, not bouncy at all and no boat feeling.

Yeah I memeber your homie's ride. I'm sure it does ride good. Harshest ride would have to be coils, by far, especially at dumped settings.
You should go for it, it seems that'd suit your needs best.
LOL the other day, dude goes out to my car and starts it up, to bring it around into the shop. Sits there a lil, gets out and comes up to me asking "Where's your switch?" With a confused look on my face, and I really was, I'm like "Switch for what?" Him "For the air" hahahah I couldn't help but laugh, I'm like "Its on coils man" hahahaha that was priceless. If I could pull that off all day, people thinking its on air, I could die a happy man =)

Had no problems with the rain at all, especially in OC where it was getting flooded in certain areas. Thank goodness for VDC, I try to fishtail and I'm unable to haha.
I got another ticket today for several citation, freakin AAA with guns (CHP). Pulled me over cos supposedly he saw my curtains up front...yet he didn't cite me for that. Instead I get cited for tint (even though I said I have a ticket for that but not on me and I'm gonna get it taken care of this weekend), sticker on the side of my windshield that goes up vertically and only takes up 3" from the pillar, too low (guess the lowest part of the body has to be higher than the lowest part of the rims? Should have told them to measure the rims from the inside, damn i'm dumb), no front plates, even though I told them bumper got cracked and license plate came off and I had a spare bumper with me and told them I'm on the way to get it fixed, and a warning for my turn signals in the back because they're not bright enough. Cop didn't believe my tail light housing was OEM...freaking retarded. The tint ticket I asked if he could let slide, but no it's not gonna cost me anything supposedly, then I brought up the $25 I have to pay the court and he said that'st he court not CHP....i'm like still, I'm already having to pay $25 for the first one....WTF?!!!
Man I'm so frustrated. I wasn't even gonna go out but I was getting quotes for my front bumper. It's gonna cost $500 to mesh two bumper together, not bad but after paint, I don't ahve that kidna money, almost $800. Instead I'm gonna get my current bumper fixed and get some projectors for the bottom, just don't know if I want dual or single. I got a pair of FX projectors, might use those for my headlights though.
Should I do dual or single projectors with my current bumper?

No TRAC, no VDC, no ABS. To be honest, I was nervous driving home today. Though my sh!t was gonna become a submarine hahahhah
Daaaaaamn. Where did this guy stop you at?? I have heard that law about the lowest part of the car needing to be higher than the lowest part on your rim. But yeah, you shoulda told him to go from the inside LOL. He probably would've found something else to get you for down there. What an ass about the turn signal though. Bet he ain't pullin over every G that's out there. Guy seemed like a dick. He was just looking for excuses.
My vote's still for dual fogs

Yeah, pissed me off. It was on the 605S by the 5. I passed right by him. Figured I'd be cool cos I'm doin the speed limit and he was goin slower...next time I'm getting in the same lane and going slows.
As for the dual projectors I was leaning that route as well...I think I need to go with 2.5" though...thought about 3" and 1" but not sure where I would get 1" and if it would look that good.

Wow never imagined about running different sizes. 3-1 sounds like too different. Maybe with 3-2.5 might look good. Running the 3" on the insides and 2.5" as outers. And staggared like I had mentioned with the previous bumper

Mine wouldn't look like that unfortunately, I don't have the money to make a housing for it...plus that's the Mode Parfume one for the F50....just about 1,000 USD....i'll pass lol. Just wondering if that style looks good or not. I think I might stick with dual 2.5's to make it easier. I have a pair of 3" FX ones that I'm gonna put side by side to see how they turn out and that should give me a better idea of how much room I got to work with.
Any suggestions on inexpensive but pretty good 2.5" (or even smaller) projectors?

I don't know from first hand experience which ones to go with, I've been looking into a similar project. I was actually thinking about going with the older Lexus ES yellow projector foggs. But I agree w/ your idea of them being the same size projector. Are you going to enclose them in a housing or just have them in there side by side? I do like the way Brabus staggered theirs with the inner projector a little further out (or is it the inner is further out?)

Not going to do a housing, I think too much work. Just going to have them side by side, but I'll have like a fiberglass housing around them so they look molded into the bumper...just no clear lens in front of em, though I'm sure that would look so much better.
BTW..i can't stop lookin at your car...so sick!

Sounds good man. I saw a brabus w211 on craigslist oc selling his whole front bumper (Brabus lip & foggs) and black mesh face wheels (asantis LoLz) all for a grand. Pretty good deal considering what the foggs alone cost from Brabus, but still a grand. You could pull this proj off for 1/4 that...or resale everything else and keep the foggs. Thanks for the kind words man, right back at you bro, your G is XXXtreeme. I like the turn you took with it.

That looks good. maybe rig up some black mesh to surround them and some sort of black ring or trim so the cutouts are clean like around the foggs. Might be easier than plastic or fiberglass. Just an idea...

Alright, changed my mind...gonna go the custom route for the bumper again. Figured I could save up some funds an extra month and just do it.
Gotta get my headlights fixed though..condensation FTL. Opened up my ballast and about 1/4 cup of water came out, maybe more...no joke

Cool, I take it their work is a fraction of what other places quoted you. Good work too, sur you've seen their work in mags, or at least posted all over their walls, not to mention the ride they have there w/ all the trophies around it. I'm sure they probablly have multiple custom projects going on back in their body shop conversions and what not. You're in good hands man. I can't wait to see how it comes out.

Just a quick update. Got a call on Monday from Tony. Rather than cut the two bumpers and mesh them together he wants to fit the coupe bumper on directly. Truly gonna be one off...probably gonna take a little longer, if so, no worries. Originally was supposed to be done by today or tomorrow, but I'm gonna wait till Friday to see whats up...i need new tires so not driving it is helpful, haha.

Yeah...pretty intense. The headlights, grill, hood, and fenders differ from the coupe and sedan. I don't think anybody has done a front bumper from a coupe on a sedan before without changing the ENTIRE front end like i mentioned. One guy may have done it without it, but I think he had fitment issues and gave up on it.

Oh damn, well as long as you get it lookin like it came that way, shit will be sick.
And fiberglass will hold up fine?? Just asking cause typically bumpers allow for some flex, and from what I've done with fiberglass, it doesn't tend to have much flex, so it wouldn't crack when it scrapes in a driveway or somethin??

As for the FG bumper, my previous one was FG and it was good with scraping....gonna reinforce it and gonna put some metal bars on the bottom of the bumper or something and attach to the chassis so there isn't much flex when going up a driveway.....it may hang lower than the bumper i had, which isn't good. gonna have to raise the car because i really dont want to crack this one.

Got my car back from JT Autobody in Rosemead...Mad props to Big Brotha Tony...he hooked it up! Currently needs paint and FX proejctors to be put in for fogs, should get done before the end of this month.

It's not painted yet...but will have it painted soon. He said he couldn't delete the sidemarkers cos of the wait it has to be fitted on. It can be done, but probably would take some work...it's cool though, i'll have it done when the paint is done so there are no sidemarkers...gonna put FX projectors for the fogs when it gets painted as well.

Yeah I have gotten a few people saying it looks better on the sedan than on the coupe. I didn't reinforce it but the body shop apparently noticed it was kinda weak so they did it themselves.
Rest is stock, need to get them though. Probably gonna get sides done before May.

Not too many kits out for our car. As Gluxury mentioned Veronica can hook you up with the Nismo...Strafe has a top secret front but I think it's too aggressive for a sedan and it looks too much like a square....there is a K2 bumper that they have as well, but I don't know how good fitment is for the sedan, nobody has bought it to my knowledge.
There's many other kits though for the 03-04. If you go to visracing.com and extremedimensions.com has kits on their website but fitment will require some work. If you're interested in any of em from either of those sites lemme know. I have an account with both....
Speaking of accounts...anybody have one with Garson? I need some stuff lol

After putting my OEM bumper back on (don't want to damage the Kenstyle because of some killer speed bumps that I can't clear at school and HAVE to take straight on) I decided to get some fuel and took a quick vid.

A lil update. Decided to work on my audio setup....here's what will be going in:
JBL GTO 1201.1 amplifier powering two 15's (infinite baffle)
JBL Px600.2 amplifier powering Crystal Mobile Sound CSC 60's
Using factory head unit and Audiocontrol LC6i
I'll be ordering some deadener this week and probably work on getting it in next week. Gonna do the trunk, front doors and probably the rear deck as well.

Pictured is an oldschool JL 15W6. I'm trying to get my hands on another one so I can run these. If not, I'll have to see what other subs I'll run...maybe have some subs custom made, go with some Image Dynamics IDQ 15's, or Exodus Audio DPL 15's.
I'm starting to run the wires. I figured I have plenty of wire so might as well put it to use. Rather than do a single run of power cable from batt to trunk and ground somewhere in trunk....or even do a full run of each like the occasional people do...I figured to do two full runs of each. One for each amp.
I'll also be replacing the Odyssey PC 1200 with a redtop group 35 and throwing the Odyssey in the trunk with a Yellowtop group 35. I was gonna use a Batcap 3000 up front and 2000 in the rear but I don't have that much money for batteries, even with my sponsorship pricing, so unfortunately I had to go with Optima cos I got sponsored by them as well....probably order those batteries in a couple weeks.
Here's some progress pics...

Yeah, I figure might as well just do it right, do it once. Not gonna be running too much power. The amp is ratted at approx 1100w @ 2 ohms, but I'll probably only be putting out about 400-500w total for both subs.
Alright...finished everything up. It was quite simple running the rest of the wire and I had no troubles with it. Just snapping on some of the last pieces was a lil difficult, but then I realized I was doing somethin wrong...after that, it was a cinch.
Since I'm going to be swapping the battery I figured I'd leave some slack for the wires. All I could find was some latex gloves..then I found some electrical tape and wrapped it around (not pictured is the electrical tape).

Time to head to the trunk and find that opening
Fed one through. Then zip-tying them and pulling through made it much easier.

Nice work L. I might need to get at you about some wiring (that is if you want to make some extra cheese on the side) My buddy ran my wires, did a "temporary" job and now he's MIA. LoL. Everything is connected, but looks jankie when I open my doors and see that scrunchy stuff around the wires just exposed like. Needs to be run through the accordion rubber where the hinges are. Nice work though. You get down for sure dude.

Man...looking at this pic I need to lower the rears some. So far I haven't had any problems after adjusting the coils, I think it's time.
Also makes me realize that I need to get my fenders done ASAP lol.

Yeah. I still gotta figure out how to do it. Most ppl been tapping into the Bose head unit before it hits the amp. I was told it might be better to do it directly at the head unit. I still dunno how to hook up the LOC. I've always used an aftermarket deck but I'm not ready to drop coin on a deck, jdm kit, and processor. That's a minimum of 1k right there.

Haven't done much lately but I'll have plenty of time to things now. Decided to go with a custom rear bumper. Gotta keep it a secret for now, but I'll say one thing about it.... it's not from a G35 or G37 coupe / sedan.

Not enough wire lol.
I'm gonna shave that off. Right now there is no sidemarker because I keep breaking them from being too low. Also took off the bumper so I don't screw it up. Gonna try to make a water proof housing for the FX projectors while I'm at it. I just need to find the projectors now. I don't remember what I did with them :(

Started deadening the roof today. My gosh it was a pain in the rear. I got the headliner off without much trouble, but getting it out of the car was another story. Didn't get it out till I stopped doing some work and a friend came over and helped me out. Thanks Robby
Anyway, majority of the roof is done. Just need to finish up the driver side in the rear and do the front a little. Hopefully I'll have enough for my trunk, but I don't think I'll have anything left for my doors. Using a shop pack already. BTW, I'm using two layers and I'll be finishing this up tomorrow.

I have plans for the headliner, might do them black, but then my pillars won't match. Not doing suede, I don't like it. But I do have some neat ideas. Some may say it's tacky but I think it'll fit the look of my car quite well. I'll be putting fiber optic lights like you would see on the roof a limousine.

I finally got around to working on the car again. Gonna copy and paste from the G35driver forum since I'm dead beat and want to get some rest.
UPDATES:
- Added the Luxury Liner Pro on driver side.
- Passenger side still needs deadening.
- Wired amp through the back of the head unit for most output voltage.
Here's a couple pics, but I have more work to do. Gonna see about hooking up some mids and another amp for them. If all goes well, I'll put everything back together. Found out the cheap Kicker subs I got off craigslist are messed up, so I'm in the market for some other budget subs. Wish I hadn't sold some of my other ones :(
Rather than using a small little LOC I'm using an Audiocontrol LC6i. Got it from a friend and might do some EQ/XO settings with an add on unit, but we'll see. I just need some bass right now. It's been too long without it.
Testing out the Stinger voltage meter. Will be placed somewhere up front that is visible. Will be very useful once I get the full audio setup going on.
A comparison of the Tara Labs RCA ends I will be using as opposed to the Stinger RCA's I used to test out. Picture doesn't do these RCA ends any justice. They're black chrome with gold tips. Nice and solid. Well worth the $5 each price tag I paid several years back.
Gonna test out the front speakers tomorrow with the 2nd amp. Also gonna install a ground distribution block under the hood and in the trunk to make the install easier and cleaner. Probably will do the same for the power wire.
I will also mount the battery in a better location, just gotta figure out where exactly and see if I have enough slack for the wiring.
Long ass day. Got pretty much everything wired up. Since I need more wire I'll make baffles for the mids and mount them and the tweeters when I get wire. All that I have to do after that is mount the crossovers in the trunk, hook them up and do some quick wiring to the amps and I'll be done. Still on the search for some decent subs. Anyway, here are pics of what I got done today.
Starting off.....with an empty trunk.
Mounted the battery.
Mounted the amps and LC6i.
Made some RCA's with Tara Labs RCA ends.

Mounted a ground distribution block next to the battery.
Mounted a power distribution block below the sub amp.
Moved onto the head unit and rather than twisting the wires and using electrical tape, I used butt connectors for a clean install.
Ran wires from the LC6i to the Stinger voltage meter and mounted it in a location that wasn't distracting to me or the outside and still visible. Batteries run at 14.5 - 14.8V :D
Hooked up the wires coming from the battery under the hood and the ones for the amps.
Done....for now.

Yeah man, I love audio. Always a good way to save some money and when I get down to it and make it nice n purrty down the line I love the feeling knowing I did it myself. If only I could do body work and paint, now that would be dope.

Shouldn't be too difficult. You got an aftermarket head unit already?
BTW, thinking about picking up a pair of these 12's.....
But I really want a single 15 just for looks

Ah...dunno how adding a sub would work but speakers would be easy...just taking it apart is always the difficult part.
I actually decided to pass on that 12. I had a similar one before but didn't use it, but the 15" version I had I did...I ended up pre-ordering these babies...
Should get here sometime in september. Would really want a 15 just for the looks, but 2 12's will play lower since there's more cone area. Gonna try to find a single sub setup for the time being. Hopefully I can get that in a week or so. And I'm really hoping within a year I get a lot settled and have the funds to pick up the pair of 18's I've been wanting to get for so long, just hope they're still around.

Hehe....I do have 20's, but right now I'm on coupe OEM 18's. Only reason why I put it on was because I got it free and it was shiny. Matched the car better than black.

Ran the wires for the voltage meter and the amplifier remote wire from the OEM head unit to the LC6i.

LC6i all wired up.

Next I need to run wires through the door and to the trunk for the mids and tweeters, make some baffles for the mids, and modify the window sail for the tweeters, maybe do a little fiberglassing. Still need to deaden the passenger door. Just about done with this setup. I think I'll also get a sub gain control so I can adjust it when I don't want much bass on some of those dreadful mornings.
Also got in on a pre order for some new subs coming out, gonna go with a pair of 12's for the time being.

Finally got a sub in. 15" RE SE. Also painted the wood black so it looks a lil cleaner. Barely got the sub to fit in because of the stupid thick foam pieces the car comes with. Had to get a lil creative to get it in, but I got it.
In the vid below I actually turned the gain down quite a bit on both the Audiocontrol LC6i and the amp. It was quite a bit louder before and the rear view mirror immediately vibrated down, and much faster. Sunroof was also flexing quite a bit earlier. Sub sounds like it's rattling but its the old digital camera I'm using. Sounds pretty good though.

Test fitted the 10.5 +0's up front. Need to adjust some things. Going to go with a 225/35 or 235/30. Currently the tires are 235/35's. Might raise it a tad (see last two pics). There's some rubbing making a full turn, and when compressed, quite a bit. Suspension is at 25/32...usually have it at 32/32, but forgot I had set it at 25.

What I may raise it too (or just a lil lower). This is a lil over a 3 finger gap from the wheel. It's at about a 1 finger gap right now so maybe somewhere in between with more of a stretch will work, that way I don't have to pull the fenders.

Got some goodies today and over the weekend....will start these projects soon and hopefully will be done early to mid September.
Mink on headliner:
Mink (I think) with smaller pattern for carpets:
Velvet on all pillars.
Might have to do the velvet for the sunroof because it's much thinner. Rear deck will be the same mink as the headliner as well.
Garson pedals...
Dual crystals for the rear curtains....
And a white D.A.D emblem fitted with crystals that will replace the Infiniti emblem on the grill......
Also for this month, I have the wheels coming in. Might get my front bumper painted too, but I do need to find fog lights and get them fitted. Stripper pole should be mounted as wel and might have my trunk done by September as well if I'm lucky. Just need to get the subs so I can have a box built for them.

Installed the Garson D.A.D. pedals. Seems like the accelerator pedal is off slightly. Kinda lazy to fix it, but maybe I will later. Gonna get some black touch up paint and paint the screws and the little brackets to hide it more.

Update guys....I said I would provide pics earlier and there's too much to include. Here's the link on g35driver for more updates. When my project gets going again, I'll post them here rather than link over. Posts 1 - 5 have the updates and information to more updates in other posts (links provided):
