Official Cheap Y33 airsuspension (bag on OE shock) with no compressor/tank

Hey guys, so i have a few 97-01 q45s and like 2 parts cars, and what ive been meaning to do for quite a while is to try to put a bag on stock strut and just run a braided steel line fromt the bag to somewhere in the trunk. Do so to all four corners and have some type of valve at the end of each line, then drop/raise the car from each separate valve from a compressor i have at the shop, the way i would make sure they are all same drop is by checkin the compression in the shock.
what i need now is some more info from all you guys that been working with bags for many years. how would this setup work, how would i fit the bag on the shock? how will the bag sit on the shock?

Any imput would be more then apreciated

All corners should have their own valve so if its a 2 way valve you need 4 if its a one way valve you need 8 . if you choose to share valves like have 2 fronts share and rears share air would transfer or shift during turns you do not want that. Typically for multiple moves all up,down, left, right the valves are all wired to a box. Damn man this is like basic stuff. Search? I used to measure the height by my ass lots of these guys use digital guages for the corner.

will it really? i was thinking that it would ride rather well. yea i was gonna have the valves all separate for each corner ofcourse i thought of that that, 

but not sure how the bag seats on the shock, thats my main concern, what bags would i buy? i really dont care how it would ride as it would be mnore of a test rather then anything,  so please yall help me do it and ill post info and ride data hehe;p

dude's got like 4+ Q45's sitting around to play with, so why not support him trying to make something his self instead of just saying "get XYZ, done...."?  

I'm all for someone trying to MAKE something, but I got no clue about air sus at all, so good luck bro!!

as i said i have lots of spare parts and dont give a shit how it comes out if its somewhat decent, if it works and comes out cheap as fuk, wouldnt you guys like to know? now help me out here

over stocks it will ride like ass, you need to get at least a decent set of coils - id like to get some q45 parts off your hands lol

robunicu---I will take a look at what you have going on when we get together. J is right though, the stock strut is not really set up to handle air, w/o the spring the forces of the car will be severe for the stock struts....it can work but it will ride harsh.
 
While there are some issues with what you are attempting, I do appreciate the DIY enthusiasm.

without it its gonna be a bounce fest

for right now then ill have to just get some springs ;( really was hoping this would work as im not baller enough to get bags and only reason im dd the q is because im tyred of riding on coilovers, curent s14.5 has absolutely no rubber under the car, its all metal and stiff as a mofo, i need the q to ride as comfy as the int is;)

better then spending 5k on bags and coils lol

You can run S14 lowering springs for awhile....it WILL blow the stock struts but they fit???

S13 Coils + Bags or Get some y33 Used Coils and add bags. But either way dont really expect to go low and have a great ride remember the car is heavy as hell and being that low you wont have much travel on the strut either way you give up the comfy ride for the great look.

coils are cool and all ive had them on almost every car and trust me i have had well over 30 cars from lil civics to lexuses and im just tired of bouncing around, specialy w my last 3 cars i think ive developed some back problems... so no coilovers for the q, 

if bags on stockers were decent i wouldve went and done it on a xtra set of shocks i got and whenever i get tired of it just swap out back to stock shocks, 

buttt its good i asked here first and didnt waste time and money, will just go with springs and call it a day as a stock drop car just doesnt do it for me after dragin my ass on slamed cars for the past 5 years

so even if i get a uas kit and throw them over my jic vip tar coilovers that are brand new less then 2500 miles on them..my ride with still be like shit and bouncy as hell??? will it ride better "less bouncy"then the coilovers that i have now without bags do?

I rode in Air and Coils and both Ride like shit when low lol Well Bouncy and Stiff on Coils is Bouncy and Floating on Air. I think the Coil+bag combo actually lets you adjust the stiffness but either way your gonna be bouncy
