i was wondering whats the most common suspension you guys use.
well not suspension. i mean any bags, cans,or those air shocks. just didn't know what to name the title, sorry. i was wondering which one of those you run on your car, the quality between those 3 and the affordability. i know vip cars are expensive but im not planning spending 4k on air suspension i know theres cheaper sites and cheaper places to get them, but im new to this and i want to get your pros and cons before i make a wrong choice or move. thanks!

I dont think cheaping out on suspension a safe thing, especially air.
wrong move would be cheaping out on anything. right move would be to do things right the first time.

as far as air suspension, and assuming we're talking strut apps the popular choices are uas and airrunner.

yeah cheaping out is bad but, i just wanted to know prices, quality and which one of those 3 is the best and most affordable because they all have different prices and i heard it is about a 2 min recharge after every drop or rise? is that true?

UAS suspension setups are common as far as air ride goes (here)
Others use Air Runner, or just run coilovers with UAS bags (which is becoming more common)
Only a couple people I know are using Air Cylinders, others are just on coilovers (myself)
All have their ups and downs, (to me) best combination is running coils with bags...best of both worlds it seems.

may you give me a pic of a set up like that? i heard bags aren't good?

agree with everything above
if you are going down the air suspension route, you definitely cannot cheap out
BUT, if you want to spend less money and still get a good drop on your car, buy yourself a nice set of coilovers.

well this is going to be my daily and im in high school. i want to lower and raise my car whenever i want because my school has like 5 speed bumps in one place thats why i wont get coil overs. i want something that i can drop/raise in an instant, i would like to hear about what you got and if you got a gs300 or gs430 it will be even better. so whats coils and bags?

You take a coilover suspension setup, replace the springs from the suspension with an air bag.
Look into a hybrid system called Air Force Air Systems, if you are a member of club lexus they have a group buy going on.
It is about $3k, but it's both a coilover, with a small bag on the top to lift the car up about 2-3 inches when you need it.

That's the point.
You slam the car as low as you want on the coils. Drive that way. Then, when you need to pop up a lil bit to get over high driveways/speed humps, you lift it.
If you go with coilovers and UAS bags, (not the aforementioned Air Force system) you would drop the coils with a full (or however stiff you want the bag) to where your ride height would be, then dump the bags and lower it to the ground when parked.
UAS bags are 2300, plus installation if you don't know how, and tein CS (the only ones you can use the bags with on the 98-05 GS) new are 1700, used you can get them for cheaper, like 600ish.
That airforce system is around 3k.
UAS alone are 2300 plus install, and probably needing new shock running another 3-600 depending on what you want.

but i was looking for a bolt on system not wanting to buy coilovers and such. im a guy that wants it one shot done. because i dont mind driving it on air suspension where i can raise and lower/drop the car, thats what im looking for. but thanks for the info

Best bet is to save the money and grab an Air Force Hybrid system then!

Hmmm I was pretty set on the UAS setup, but wow, that air force setup looks awesome!
To the OP, its clear you want bags, so might as well just get the UAS, its an easy setup for you, opposed to me, a Q45 owner.

so if you have the air force setup, you can't drop but just raise the car?

I'm not running them personally but a lot of people on the board here are beginning to, HYDRAULICS. I'm on UAS and love it by the way....

Airrunner here too.. Everyone here brings up good points. Any of these setups will work well.

to me airforce cups sounds like the best bet,
you ride all day long slammed, but when coming to a speed bump or and obstacle you just raise it up, and dump it once over it.done.
second would be bags over coilovers, which is close to cup kits, but u can raise it up more and drive like that...but then again we do drive our cars low, not high:)

the ksport kit (what I am rolling on) is a bag over full tap coilover. to me you can't go wrong.

I'm running the D2 Air Suspension Deluxe setup on my 1.gen Aristo, total bolt-on like the K-Sport (and I think they are generic). Pros: Bolt-On, DIY installation no biggie, ~120/200mm lift will get you from slammed to over nearly anything on any road, 1/4" fittings so easy to fine-tune pressures, bag-on-coil gives you 36-level adjustability on dampening and regular coilover height adjusting... Cons: It's only a front-2-back system, so no high speed cornering if you don't get an extra pair of valve assemblys to make it a 4-circuit system with each corner pressurized independently. That way the air doesn't shift between left/right making the ride a-bit unstable/"wavy".
That's my 2 cents....

I have installed most of the stuff the guys have mentioned and it's all great product.
Don't skimp, listen to these guys. I've seen it time, and time, and time again. Guys go cheap, spend needless money, hate or outgrow what they've bought, then buy the same stuff they said was too expensive when they first asked me.
Remember, each time you change your mind, (unless you can do it yourself) you will get charged for install.
Compressor question.
You can get away with running a single compressor and a small (5 gallon tank?) without issue. Step up to two if your adding a second 5gal tank. Or buy a big compressor to fill two tanks.
If you run a small compressor that is weak in the CFM department and want it to fill a large tank you will need to give it time to top off the tank...and may burn it up prematurely. However I have a friend that has a single 400 Viair compressor filling two 10 gallon tanks to 200psi. He abuses his truck and plays a lot, I don't know how the compressor has lasted for the whole year with it being a daily driver. I honestly don't think it ever shuts off unless the truck is parked.
My compressor of choice is a dual pack of Viair 400c's filling 10 gallons of storage air. Or a single Viair 480c filling a 5 gallon tank. 175psi switch and you have lots of air on demand. The recovery time is about 1min with minor use. Using a 175 psi switch doesn't put much strain on the compressors=a longer life.
There will be lots of people with different opinions, and that's fine, i'm just letting you know what I have had success with.
I am partial to the HPS stuff right now.

Rode in my buddies VW golf all layed out and it rode very smooth. I was sold on the product after that. I think it's the black one on their website with the RS BBS rims.
