Cleaning work DH lips

ok so i read the whole thread on how to clean work dh wheels.
andnothing is working.i have had my rim since june 09 new.there were no spots of anything.now winter is here and i took them off and im trying to clean them.
i used meguires soap and wax.shiny but stil hazy.then i just used mothers on one rim.it got the shione back bu theres still brake dust residue and dot.no chips peeling or pitting.these rims were mint and just need some help to get this spots out???? heres what they did look like.i'll post some pics of the spots and haze soon.im not even sure if there chrome lips or polished.maybe someone can help me out with that.lol

clear coated correct ? If they are .. when my wheels are super dirty and tiny specs of dust (that dont come off with soap and water) i try P21S gel wheel cleaner with a Swissvax wheel brush, then use a very mild clay bar with lots of lube and a very very light polish (same stuff you use on the paint) .. polish it by hand .. then seal them and wax them

All polished wheels with clear coat on top will get hazy.  U need to really scrub them to make them look like a mirror.  My wheels when they were brand new got like that when I put them on the car and didnt even drive anywhere.  It's common although most people don't notice or care

They are clear anodized. Metal polish will make them dull. For most JDM wheels, you should treat them like your paint.

im gonna try to buff my DHs lol. scratch x first of course..

hmmm .. scratch X is pretty abbrassive .. so ... i would have to say your going to need a polisher =/ .. call up a detailer in your area .. search detailingbliss.com or autopia.net for local detailers .. a lot of them know how to treat those wheels .. or PM OCKlasse on here he's big into detailing and should give you better advice than me

lol scratch x is NOT that abrasive lmao....im a detailer myself but i do mostly body not wheels..

not even abrasive for over the counter products ? Well help me out here then .. since your a detailer .. i dont know what to tell this guy to help him get the results he wants on his lips

i just want to bring back the shine.and take out the dullness.they where so clean in june.i washed my car every 3 days.idont understand how rims get ruined in 4 months of driving.its like throwing your money out the window on the highway going 90mph.WASTE

I agree, the clear looks like it isnt there any more.  Were the rims ever refinished?

If there is no clear on them, use mothers mag polish and hit it with the power ball.  Have someone locally verify first (exclusiveonez is in queens)

i also have DHs on my car and im experimenting also.

My wheels are just like yours, but i use Nanowax wheel polish. Unlike reg whel cleaners it doesnt produce a strong haze. My ride iz a daily and in result my wheels suffer..

Starting to get the same thing on the Fiance's VSKF's and the Eurolines I just bought are the same way as well...

ok so imback with some info on cleaning work dhs or other finishes like them.
 
first i started with a relgular wash with meguires gold class.soaking them in soap.then after a long rinse.i clayed them with megiures clay kit.dryed them very well also.then i used mothers polish by hand but with some elbow grease.removed it qafter 5 mins and hit them extra hard again.took about 3 hours all in time.but well worth it.heres two pics in crappy light but u can see how much better they look from the 1st pics i posted.i personay think the claying helped alot before allpying some polish.i could of hit them with some wax to seal everything in.but i'll wait till spriong for that.there inside thr warmth for the winter.hope i canhelp some1 else out there with this.my own method.

Your wheels are not clearcoated?

yea wash em real good with regular carwash soap.rinse well and dry real good then use the clay kit with lots of spray/lube.then polish to sick finish.then seal it in.which i didnt do yet.heres a better pic.

what did u seal it with wax?

It looks like the anodizing is gone off those dh's.  If you look at the second pic it looks like you can see the cloudy spots where it all wasn't sanded completely out.   If that's the case, some mothers metal polish and lots of elbow grease should do the trick.

i didnt seal them.there off the car and in my house.before i put them back on in spring im gonna hit them real hard again and then seal em.as of now there still shiny as hell.
