You are asking this question on a vip forum... Thats like asking whether you should get hydraulics on a lowrider forum.

I say about 4" lower. Or at least tucking an inch of tire in the back and maybe half an inch in the front

a 2" drop on a Y33 will look stock. I have a full 3"drop all around and it barely looks low. I still have fender gap but I am also on the stock wheels.

Fursure, we gotta test out the roads when they're built or patched, to make sure they're straight and leveled.

on a y33 you'll need coilovers or air to get 3" afaik. the ride will depend on the parts/quality of parts used but can be reasonably good (firm but controlled). check out the threads on the s13/14 conversion for a low cost alternative to buying new y33 coils, or keep an eye out in the classifieds..

It'll still ride pretty comfortable 3"s lower, but this is really the wrong group of people to be asking about a 2-3" drop.

i wouldnt reccommend using the stock struts/shocks as they werent made to support the lowered conditions. Best to just save the money your intending to spend and pickup a more substancial setup...we all learn by mistakes and mistakes in suspension are costly, ntm safety!

Obviously we're all gonna say "low as possible" but if you're really not comfortable with that, then that's fine. 2" drop springs and a re-alignment you'll be good to go. If it were my car I wouldn't, but it's not, so go with your gut.

^^^^thats the idea, you have to it commit to lowering your car. It's a full time thing, you have to know the roads, you have to know the entrance to places to know how to plan your attack to get into a parking lot without scraping. You have to sometimes take the long way home cause the short way has speedbumps or unpaveled roads(i love nj). Look at it this way if it is too low you can always reinstall the bumper that got ripped off, than lift the car back up. Good luck...The worst thing is looking for potholes in the rain.

driven low

you are right Dirtyjerzey,
its a different way of driving, i never really did the low thing, i was always a hp freak , driving 500 - 800 rwhp was my thing .
i try and watch as much as possable for pot holes, its bad enough i have a perfect set of rims now , i dont need to worry about my bumpers getting ripped off or my oil pan getting blasted by a raised manhole cover....lol
i am willing to drop it just not to the limit. i do enjoy a smooth ride too ... so i am willing to componsate some ride for a better look .
we all know vehicle stance is everything
