Tough luck with that buddy.

Most of these companies do not even realize that the y34 exists, such you may have misrepresented info as 03-07 M45 coilovers.

Most of us have been down this route already while chasing down parts for this platform, there isn't any aftermarket support for our car such there are no parts.

If you have time to spare, call up D2, or call around. I am just warning you that u will be going on a wild goose chase.

JIC came get you spindles from japan. I've been wondering why the guys with y34's are completely ignoring JIC. I just figured everyone wanted bags. I'll be starting my y34 project around september this year or so.

part does not come off it's a part of the hub assembly. When I had my springs put in we tried and nothing happened. They do have jic coilovers for the y34 but are a bit pricey.

They just ask for a core of your old spindles.
Well at least most places that carry them do.

I contacted them and they say it is for and has been tested with the 03-04 m45s. I am still a little skeptical becuase they have no pictures of it installed.

Interesting Jade. I wonder if you welded the D2 coilovers to the factory spindle if they would work.

Btw JIC also has a pretty poor reputation for quality and customer service from what I have read.

looks like Y32 and Y33 fronts should work in terms of coils?? Wonder if it would be possible to do the S14 conversion like on a Y33 then?

This probably has been covered already though.....

$$$$! $2100-$2300, plus the shipping cost to and from Japan is a good reason to ignore them. This is a rhetorical question , but who wants to give up their front spindles for 2-3 months ? :runcoold:

I'm willing to wait in order to do it right the first time. And yes Blackonblack I know they're not in stock within the U.S. but their still easily purchased just gotta have some patience.

Plus i would never waste my money on springs. But that's just me. I understand, " diff' strokes for diff' folks.

most people that i see complaining are people who bought old, used, low-line coilovers a couple years ago.

i have never had a problem with cs or quality and run jic on both my cars now, plus the last car i had.

btw, rebuilds are now done stateside.

you pay a ~$700 deposit which is refunded when you return your stock spindles.

True...diff strokes for diff folks, but I have a question. Why do you want coilover? Are you planning to change the height on a regular basis for car shows or leave it at one heigh?

Blk said US JIC don't stock em, cause no one hooks up a Y34 here. Doesn't mean they're obselete and every one of them is built to order. I bet on the other side of the water, they got gangs of them sittin on shelves waiting for someone to buy. If they see enough of y'all askin for em and buying em, they'll start carryin em here, but no one shows interest so they ain't wastin time and money stockin somethin no ones gonna buy, simple supply and demand.

Anyone opting for coils obviously wants to ride dumped. Face it, springs are never gonna be as good an option as coils. You'll never get a slammed height, it ain't gonna ride stiff, and it don't give you the option to go back up, incase 5-0 get jealous and gives you a fix-it for the sick stance.

Coils all day, every day FTMFW, or bags/hydros for when ya wanna park hard

I'm with burgy, someone need to take a stab at this. I'd be willin to help em figure it out as well. I'm sure it can be done, just gotta make the effort. If I had the option to drop another Y33, hands down, I'd go with my take on the S13 conversion, all over again

D2's Y34 kit has been in development for 2 years. They've had the regular issues with this application, so they're not sure if they will release a production kit or not.

I'm trying to see how many kits they will need to sell in order to recoup the R&D outlay.

Somewhat true I guess. I have to keep in mind that this is a true "VIP" forum. I'm satisfied with my eibach drop. I had the Koni/Ground Control coilovers on the acura legend coupe back in the day and I set them once and that was it, so for me its a waste when it comes to those JIC's, especially when they are over $2000 and a core swap. Dont get me wrong.....I did consider it when I purchased my Y34, but later realized................not worth it.

"True vip forum" doesn't mean everyone on here's "truely vip." There are only a handful of cars that deserve a title like that. As for the rest of the cars, half are workin there way up to it. And the lot of the half I've seen, just seem to like the style, and incorperate the style to fit their wants i.e. curtains, stickers, or something dangley with knots, and consider their cars to be vip  IDK maybe its just me, and im trippin.

Im not trying to debate which cars are VIP or whatever, I could care less. No one here is qualified to say who is VIP or who isnt VIP, SORRY! I dont want to trash this thread with VIP or not VIP talk, so yes...you trippin. My main point was that the JIC's are too much money, atleast for me. I will order coilovers (revalved with high 20's kg spring rates front and rear. Because I have a very specific stance I want and I want that stance to be my ride height. plain and simple.!!!

Springs are a waste of money and time in my book.

I know it's not a Y34, but here's my gs300 on D2 on air suspension.

It rides pretty firm, but you got to adjust your dampening to your liking. Hope this helps if you need my installation process pictures, let me know I'll send it to you

I'm kinda torn here. Most of y'all know I rode on springs the whole 6 years w/ my Q and the last 3 they were cut 2 times to achieve the height I wanted. The ride was very good, esp. w/ KYB SR's. Now I have the M, I have searched high and low, YAJ, you name it, I can't find a single aftermarket set of shocks anywhere which means springs will be w/ stock shocks. I do agree w/ Stockstar that once you set a coilover height, you really aren't gonna go change it often, if you set the height then got alignment, then change the height, your alignment is over and you wasted your money.

For myself, I would love to get some coilovers for 2-2500 bucks, but the reality is I would set the height once. So I got springs, and they're gonna be cut before even going on, then from there I'll cut them till I get the height I want if it's not right the 1st time. For now I'm considering the springs a temporary item that was readily available and delivered to my door w/in 3 days of owning the car. If the ride is decent at the height I want, then I'll probably just leave it at that. If the ride sucks, which it might, then it's time to save up for some Buddy Club or Insurance coilovers. Just my thoughts on this as a new Y34 M45 owner.

I'm in Japan as I type this, went to an Up Garage yesterday, they don't have anything in stock. There are plenty of new coilovers on YAJ, didn't see any used ones, and no shocks other than used OEM. There are tons of springs available for this car though.
