EXE wheels considered VIP style?

i know this is a pure opinion for most people but do you think these wheels are considered VIP style they are EXE KonVex.  also i know that the fitment is partially what makes it VIP style and the sizes im looking at is 20x9.5 and 20x10 with 35 in the front and 37 in the rear.  so it will be a mild set up.

im looking at putting these on my GS and have been leaning to picking up a set of these.  i'd like your guys opinions.  i really cant decide what kinda wheel set up i wanna go with.  all i know is i wanna dump the bling rims i have now

IMO, fitment is not just partially, but rather wholly, what makes a wheel VIP style. 

WIth that said, notice the way the spokes are shaped in both of those wheels. They may have similar designs, but the concavity of those spokes make them as different as day and night.

so you are telling us you want the weds kranze lxz but in a cheaper price?

My personal opinion is....

weds is always the better choice!
...but I am rather partial... ;)

a) is it classy?
b) does it fit nice?
c) is it high quality?

I prefer the LXZ too though.

I always look at wheels this way......

Fitment first, design second. No matter how good wheels look, without good fitment, it just seems like it was an after thought. 

stankubrick - yes i do realize that the EXE wheels are more concave then the weds.  i said they were similar not that they were identical 

xotic - no [u]im not[/u] looking for a cheap knock off of the weds,  the EXE wheels are not cheap either.  i was just asking opinions on if you thought the EXE wheel is vip style.  i guess i shouldnt have put up the part that says it looks like the weds rim.  i kinda just wanted to show some possible idea of what it would look like on the car.

firelizard - i wasnt trying to compare the 2 rims i was asking opinions on the first set of rims.


i guess i wasnt clear enough in the initial post but any comments on the first set (EXE) wheels would be appreciated.  

v8_aristo - your car and fitment is somewhat of an inspiration for me, and i love the look of aggressive fitment and extremely stretched tires however my goal is to use these rims for a daily driver set up.

are the wheel offsets and size a good set up for a mild look?

Oh, I understood your post, but I think you just didn't hear what you wanted to hear.

stankubrick- well is the offset good for a mild set up. i would love to go with a more aggressive set up however i will be daily driving on these wheels

I honestly dont like them one bit.  They look like a cheaper one-piece rim to me, and seem to say budget wannabe.  Thats just the look they give to me.    I dont know the fitments on GS, but they seem kinda weak from what usually fitments are.   Maybe Im off.   I personally would save up and get the Weds, or a nice set of Works or SSRs.       Also, take the word "cheap" with a grain of salt here.   Im sure you think that the 450-500 EXEs seem expensive for a rim, but take a look at Works in a similar size, and look towards 900-1000.    Just a thought man.   Gotta pay to play!

ok i guess i got my answer.. 

EXE Wheels is Taiwan/China wheel. Poor quality.

I'm running a 19x9 +26 offset w/ 235/35/19 and 19x10.5 +30 offset w/265/30/10. And I do daily driven my cars, but I'm also careful with curbs and potholes.

Those specs are a little odd since the front will be an unpropotionate to the rear as far as "flushness" is concerned.

Another suggestion would be to find a good used authentic multi-pc wheel.

when used correctly can get the effect of vip, but really just arent. if you want the vip "style" it can be used, depending how you take the definition of vip "style".....high end, or high end look/ high end style. you could drive a camry and say its a lexus es300 ...its all about perception and how you and others will percieve it...  but most important how they look to [u]you[/u]...

[/quote] cant really say that either, cause alot of the "JDM" parts, wheels included, are made there too...its just the way it goes..cheaper labor..but dosent always reflect cheaper quality...

im running 19*9.5(f) 19*10.5(r) +28 all around 235/30/19 up front and 265/30/19 in the rear...daily driven too...

agreed! n some people are juz too conservative against somewhat knockoff wheels, they can look good too imo..

It seems to be that a majority of members are saying this when it comes to building their rides VIPstyle. Yea it looks good, but a lot of people seem to be "wussy'ing" out of the aggressive fitment scene (which in my opinion is neccessary to pull off the VIP look).

I don't know what you're thinking but most members here are daily driving their VIPstyled cars and you don't really hear complaints too often. You just have to modify and drive your car with common sense (like everything else that you do in life).

those EXE wheels, I said it before, I'll say it again...it's just iffy...looks like any other rota, ruff racing, hp, or tenzo rim [i]to me[/i].
do the EXE come in multipiece? custom offsets? forged? When trying to build a quality car, you must use quality parts because well...it shows.

In the end, this is your car, everybodies' posts are just opinions, but the way you modify your own car determines if it will look VIPstyle or not.
