anybody buy an 11-99 frame before?

i'm thinking about picking one up...

what is it?

not that i would know about that but i have friends that have illegal swaps and what nots in cali. 
but they got that plate. 
just go to one of the events for the foundation donate some cash flow( for once if wont be for tickets lol) and I think they give you one. 
 
but im not sure:shrug:

most ppl buy them off of ebay.. and they are knockoffs. just want to hear real life "i got away" stories to make sure it's worth it.

i've heard that if you dont have the badge, it doesn't work. 

but if vsc members say that the plate itself works, it'll be worth my money

 The 11-99 foundation is a charitable organization which  supports familes of California Highway Patrol employees. Primarily they  help out in cases of sickness or death. This is a very good thing.

But  the puzzling thing is the way they go about it. The license plate frame  is an example. For a $1800 donation to the organization you get a  license plate frame, a certificate and a wallet with a special 11-99  badge in it. The wallet has a place for your ID just opposite the badge.  The perfect thing to hand to an officer who has just pulled you over.

wish we had that here. my buddy is a officer, but he can only riding with me so much haha. pretty cool though.

edit! i forgot, what we need is a special plate that you pay x amount of money for, and allows you if your car is deemed for it. 70-80 on highway. Let me explain.. Speedlimits are for people who dont care about driving, and drive bs cars to begin with. The average performance car can out brake anything mundane on the roads. so why should they do the speed limit of 60? 

So this plate will basically pay for all the tickets you would get if you got pulled over in advance.. Why would they go for it?? cause its instant revenue. You know how many people would pay for that?? I would! We as a country are losing our car culture to begin with, with modifying them and laws on that.. why not make a system for it. I believe hawaii has something like this. But not the i am a good fast driver plate. 

For the plate you state what car you have, attend a driving school. offensive driving course! and get your plate, and you renew it every year. The state would make so much off it, there wouldnt be anyone pulled over for bogus crap, and everyone would stay out of the fast lane that didnt have one.. cause they would know they could get pulled over cause they dont have the plate, or into an accident.

Tired of idiots who drive in the left lane to show that the speed limit is dangerously fast and trying to prove a point by pacing the person next to them.
