Ive had the car for about 6-7 months...for 800$... im a mazda freak, and after owning proteges/mx3s/escort gt's.  i wanted a bigger mazda..to play with and always been into the speed thing, and never built a car for this show style..

Im in dire need of a drop... the gap kills me, but i think the wheels on the car look well... Im gonna try to get suspension "work" done in a few weeks...

^ lol i hope you're being sarcastic. that car is so...Australia :( . the kit is ugly, the interior is ugly, the wheels are ugly, the paint is pretty tacky, just doesnt work at all for me. loads of work but just wasted imo.
 
some really nice ones out of japan though, could do with a massive drop haha but then it should be looking clean.

i like his seat upholstery, and stance.. not too fond of that kit either... but hes came along way so i cant knock his work... i wish his paint was just straight black, like it looks in these pics..

Noice choice in wheels....for some reason, I am loving these HR3s right now. I want to get a GS400 or LS400 and dump it on 20" MRR HR3s. :)

i was gonna do spacers as well, after i lower it, so i can see what i got to work with.. i was thinking 20mm....but it might be too much..

Hell no boy! with those wheels id be saying 20mm is bare MINIMUM! ;) 

But then again... im clinically insane with my wheels....

Im gonna try to drive up to nashville, the front seals leak oil...but im gonna try to do it before than, i could drive it.  but i feel bad driving it that far leaking oil..but im def..gonna try to come up.   next pics it will be lowered!!=)

well i had an HD which had adjustable steering column and aswell as 2 of my HE's are adjustable up and down, but no telescopic adjustment.

i think its a great platform, just parts are a bitch to find and you cant have very agressive fitment that other platforms can pull off easy as without massive modifications..
HD owners are mre lucky as there are more bodykits available for them. and there is only 1 for HE (evolution)

i love my car but sometimes i just think that if i had and LS or a GS that would have been so much easier with aftermarket parts, or even a gloria/cedric...but nah, i rather be different from the rest, even knowing that i probably will never get any mad respect from many of you

To me, there are few cars that compete with this thing.  Everytime I see it I stare at it for 5 minutes at a time.  Its not over the top, and looks incredibly menacing when its rolling.  

This ride, along with the Black 2GS with widebody and LS door handles I always see pictured next to it, are two cars that I can never get enough of.  That crew is on point.

So what's the plan for lowering it?  I did some King Springs on my 92 929 way back when.

i dont recommend king springs...they sag after a while and dont give you great handling...
go for RSR, hard to get in us or just get one of the vendors to help you out to get them from YAJ...
i had them in both of my sentias and its just awesome.they will give you 50mm drop only.mine are 70mm drop(have no clue why)but thats how they came from japan.
ride is much stiffer and gives you really good cornering...

im getting them cut in a few days.. would of had them today...but somethin came up.

the coilovers i want to get i cant get... until i can bag it, cut cut!

by the way, are your headlight clear?or no?
my HD had clear ones, looked newer and probably would look mean with blacked out housings just like yours.

my HD was 94 model and was high spec version aswell had all the bells and whistles just no leather:)
and had clear headlights, go onto YAJ there is a few clear lights for sale.

what i love about sentias is that camber is adjustable in front and rear, not like most of rwd cars have only rear adjustment.
but what i dont like is that you get heaps of negative camber up front, atleast thats what i had with all my sentias.

instead of spacers i would go for more aggressive wheels:)
but those actually look very good on sentia,and adding some spacers will make it look even better...dont know whats your budget like and plans:)

budget wont allow for more wheels..right now, but its def in the future.  I had a few people look at it, and tell me a 25-30mm spacer in the front would do me right, and a 10-15 in the rear.  But i didnt know you can adjust the camber in the front.. i may need to get on that.  But ya, the camber up front is very noticeable..lol

yep front is adjustable aswell.
i remember how i took it to my local tire shop and i got a youg guy to do it, he was pretty much arguying with me that it doesnt have camber bolts upfront:)
well he was wrong hahaha:))they wont give you much adjustment tho...after wheel alignment and toe/ camber correction i still have plenty of front camber...im getting 27mm spacers very soon for the front, and once my rears are rolled i will be getting 20mm spacer there for extra flushness:)

Man, it looks so much better after you dropped it.  Now go take some more awesome pictures with it lowered after you put some spacers on.  :)

i dont remember with HD's cause the lowest offset i had on it was +35 on a 9" and i had probably 10mm of space left. but on HE i can run 9" +26 easy as with just rolled guards
but with maxed out camber and slight pull we can look at 9" +16 atleast.atm i have 8.5" +44 front and 10" +50 rear, shit offset, very shit. but i still can add 20mm spacer at the back to get it flush just with a tiny pull.
front needs around 32mm spacer.10" +50 equals 9" +37 plus i have another extra 20mm before i need to do pulling. so 9" +17 or even +15 should work a treat, with camber and mild pull...

8.5 +44 is equal to 8" +38 and i have around 30mm space left. so if i want it flush i would have to look at getting 8" +5 to make it flush without any mod to the guard as sentias front lips are already rounded/rolled.
or you can go with 9" +20 up front.

sentias are a bitch to get right fitment.as you can see you can run quiet good offset on them..but ofcourse if you have funds for it etc and willing to roll/pull etc:)

i really want to rebuild my rims at some stage, but funds wont allow me at this stage, plus i want to bag it next year

I took about 3 steps back against my paint...:( and backed into the garage...:sad:

Hopefully ill be able to get the car painted.. but until than im gonna try to buff it out... pray for me!

took care of some stuff the last week.... tie rods in - out, as u can see mine were toast.. and my ride was crazy.. but now its alot better.. and i did a little homemade old school toe adjustment in the rear..b/c kaufman didnt do a dam thing to my rear,..but they took my money!..:2up:

yeah im replacing my outer tire rods in a few weeks, both rears are gone...thats what u get for driving too low on nz roads with stiff suspension:)

found a sentia at local wreckers, so i grabbed them since i knew mine were poked, and they seem to be in mint cond too...
my mechanic said that most of tie rods are universal anyways, so you might match em up to other ones, shop around bro

indeed!  its not 100% but sometimes you hav to take matters into your own hands.  Works great for toe adjustment.  i think i may have added about a month or 2 on my tires...lol

alright i took a few pics of the front and back.. to get suggestions on tire sizes.  The height will be about the same.. because as of now its not adjustable.. maybe lower if i can do it..  but all around i got a 2" gap from fender to rim, im not sure how much camber i have left to play with in the rear...

there is nothing aftermarket, unless you geit custom made...do what most of guys do in japan for crazy camber, shorten your arms:) well just enough for you to clear the fender(which you should pull)
imo crazy camber looks stupid...and im sure its illegal too, well atleast over here.

ive seen the eibachs go for 23$ for 2.  And they go on all 4.  I may play with them tomm if i feel up to it.  to see what i have to work with.

duuude, where are the tires:))its been over a month now:)

i had some problems with the car mechanically i got to take care of, had to replace the starter, now i need to replace my brake master cylinder its leaking..  And my valve cover gaskets..:(  easy stuff but funds are low.. and christmas time is comin..  so prob wont see no tires until 2010!

oh i see, yeah i guess u should expect things to go wrong at this age and mileage.

Barrell has 2 chips like this in them, but only one.. ive been reading on how to get rid of this type of damage.. dont know if i will be brave enough to try it..but  i prob will, got to learn sometime.

I planned on it but one of the front tires deflated lol.  im new to this stretch thing sould I inflate  over the recommended 49psi to sit the beads?.  I believe the mounter only filled up to 40psi. 40. and it deflated tonite, but filled right back up?

Same thing happened to me man - no coincidence (I'm hoping) only makes sence that they should be over inflated, or does it...under inflated isn't the way to go...Reccomended seems too "reccomended" I'm gonna find out from someone who knows though for sure and will check back in here w/ the answer...if it helps any I filled up the next morning (2 days ago) and no issues since. Driven daily.

No sweat man, I love a good build especially something you don't see everyday. The paint code is 744 (I think) Its the one named "brilliant silver". I'll check the exact paint code, I know MB uses lots of different shades through out the years.

ive ran up to 60psi on some of my more extreme stretches.  generally my psi sits around the 50 mark tho.  if you were at 49, you might have a leak

well it was at 40, and the tire that deflated, just needed to be resealed..  got it taken care of and its all good now!  got them up to 50 now.

Damn that would be pushing the upper limits of your tires with that much pressure. I run 215/35 on my 19x9s and the most i push it up to is 42psi. I have a slow leak in the drivers side at the moment (ever since flipping the tires - it was perfect before that), and the other day i checked it and it was down to 20psi; yet the bead held fine.
 
I think you should be checking your seals around the rim where you pulled it apart; the tire/rim seal should be fine with normal pressures

well the wheels are 3 piece, so the part i pulled apart doesnt hold any air, because the 3rd piece is welded!  So thats not an issue..

the reason its so high, is because the tires are rated at 49psi, for the front, and 42 in the rear..  ive got them all @ 50 all around.  but it isnt leaking anymore it just needed to be resealed.

a little garage picture.. its soo cold out side for any real pics..  the rear is nice, but the front needs a spacer atleast a 10 -15 maybe even a 25mm..

Or, going lower first will add more neg camber....cut a coil? I just read up on "camber plates" the other day. Apparently that's how people achieve that agg neg camber look. Might be worth looking into man.
EDiT: Scratch that - looks like you'de be slicing your side wall half way down or curbing your wheels if you cut a coil.

they are color matched, the triangle part is supposed to be the color of the car.  i hit it with some black primer.. because they were white... they will be the same color as the car.

I just had a thought . What would you think of cutting off the piece of the mude flap that actually hangs from the car. I like how part of the flap cradles the underside of the bumper. kind of looks like an add on valance part. Hope you can picture it, I think it would look fresh.

they fit fine..  I just want to go lower...20s just isn't  the ideal wheel to go low on the 929 especially without a kit.    im gonna rock them till I find something else tho.  its all learning...with the car.  since I don't have any footsteps to follow.  im excited to see how it all comes together with the spacer up front.

naw i just really finished off the rear struts, they were already not so good, but when i went down some more it just finished them off.    im gonna be taking a break from the car tho and get my money together for the next stage and the expensive stuff!....

but i do have another little project that has plenty of aftermarket, and not as expensive, and much of a hassle to track down parts.. something fun for the time being.  Its ugly, but i took on the road today and im inlove with the wankel already!:biggthumpup:

:( car is back at stock height, with a some stock mazda wheels...  I couldnt afford to keep going thru tires, sooo until i hunt down a set of good coilovers, or get enough for bags....it will remain.. to be continued...*sigh*   i went for a ride, and nearly fell asleep from the comfortable ride...not giving up far from it, I thought i would be able to roll on the cut setup until than, but the non existence of replacement suspension parts is a big problem with getting a proper alignment.

reason why i aint giving up.. its soo easy for me to get rid of it, and buy something else... but i cant!  i will def. be saving money doing this tho.  You wont believe how many backup tires i have bought within the last few months for my spare sets of wheels.. i prob could have bagged it by now..lol   Its hard to enjoy it when i have to worry about stuff like that...

i went thru my rears down to the thread in 3 months.

Round 2!  Picked this mint 9 up last week has 104k miles on it.  I swore i would not buy another one unless it was superb!  And it is.

yeah man proper align does wonders for sure.. I went from chewing tires every 3-4 months up to a year to flip sides

and 2 years later he returns...........

Got the missing link to alot of 929 builds, im more excited about finding these than the car almost lol.  Got some wheels in mind...so thats next.
