Bentley-Rolls Royce.

Curious, I saw a drawing on a sig on what might be Club Lexus? Of a Bentley two tone black and creme' with what I think, if remember correctly were work Euro DH's. If anyone has seen the pic please post it. After My Q is finished, looking at purchasing one. The 99 up body style. Also don't stop at posting up other findings, it is hard to find as is I think. I dont need another project.. but it would be less of one in my mind. When that style first came out being 17 listening to Cash Money and Jay Z never made want more than that.

I cant believe you could not even tell the difference between a Rolls Royce and a Bentley???

I thought maybe it was a bentley. I know what a Rolls looks like, and YES I know what that pic is of, and YES I do know its a Photoshop

And YES, I know its not a 99, its A Phantom for the 03 up era.

So why attack me for saying I cant tell the difference, dont you know rich people dont care? 

And yes, who cares if its a million dollars, which it isn't thank you.. A Rolls Phantom can be had used for around 200k and as low as 137k..  The 99-2000 is 47k to 60k. Which doesn't matter what I do with my money now is it? Rich People who dont care about cars, lease, rich car enthusiasts buy used.

Hard to believe that maybe someone who has that money can be on a forum just like anyone else?? Go to ferrarichat.com

Something about the mid to late 90's Bently Arnage has always got to me. I lust after that car. And to the OP - good luck finding the pic you are after.

Yeah man, that style has always been my fave! It is nice to see how Bentley is kind of going back to that style. But thanks, I may never.. but its okay. Til then!! I will just have to draw it up my self.

Side note, I do like how they use BMW motors! Makes parts easy for me to come by and somewhat more reliable? I guess would be the terminology? Well easier to maintain I guess would be more correct. Instead of going to lets say... Autozone, Kragen, Shucks, ect to find Bentley Coil Packs. 

Plus The Arnage T woot for it being mated with a good size turbo! Not sure what it is, will research later, but if its upgradeable to a HKS system, with a BOV, and AVCR for boost control haha! anyway, rambling on. 

Please feel free to post up pics of modified ones. I have seen a few from japan, and even then its more dub style than vip style.

the other said to him, "buy used. my family member just bought an 06 bentley with 6k miles on it for 75K."  considering retail was double that i think there are some pretty awesome deals out there for people with money in a shit economy.

Yeah! I mean, I am not saying anyone should blow a bunch to have it, but if one can afford and take advantage of it! by all means! Especially now days people are spending Bentley prices on new cars that are not even that great of a car to begin with. 

Though with the strict bank laws now in place, most banks wont lend on a 6+ year old car.. I say if you have the money to buy anything you have been saving for, ask you self this very question: "for how hard I worked for me to get here, should I spend all of it on this.." Most will find them selves saying finally and do it with out thinking about it.. I have grown to realize something in the last 10 years of nothing and wasting my life is that, Money goes faster than earned. Once you can make it more than you spend it.. Maybe thats when you should reward your self for your hard efforts. 

A guy once told me about a Ferrari 430 he was looking at buying. He is a well established man good job, better yet a awesome niche he found. Had the money to buy a 430 in cash. Then said you know what I can do with this?? So he invested it and now is worth over a million in cash.. and now the money thats working for him is buying the car, not the principal. 

Everyone has their own niche in something you just have to find out what it is, and go all the way. Or you will just be the same ol sob story "if I had a million" Well, find a way to get there and go for instead of talking about it.. The more you talk the less its coming to you.

Holy shit! This thread got me looking into Bentleys. There's a 2003 for $75k up here in Canada.
Now the one thing you must remember is maintenance costs. They can be astronmical with these cars.

Yes sir! That is why I like the older ones, not only I think the style is better.. but it uses bmw for a motor. So technically you could service it your self or at a bmw dealer. 

Side note on buying+maintenance costs. They say if you are to buy something high priced with high end prices for parts and maintenance, put 10k into an account made for that car. put it something that compounds on it's self hopefully monthly. This way it can mature and make money while hopefully you well maintained pricey purchase survives and may never need to touch it.  It is like having medical insurance and not needing it cause you have it.. if you dont have it is when you will need it theory

you dont have to buy a new bentley.
I know yard that have ferraris,lambos rolls ect. that have been crashd or some just have fender bender car that theysell for pennies on the dollar. 
 
only thing is they have salvage tittles but funk it.

so my understanding is that arnages are difficult to lower -- i think it has steel springs in front but this complicated and weird hydraulic setup in the rear. i haven't made much headway in figuring out if anyone makes anything suspension-wise for that car, but i have seen a few lowered ones in japanese magazines (there's one with the autocouture aerokit and 22" asantis, i think, that comes to mind)

sweet! yeah, it is hard to mod one with out going a dub style since its a big car.. offsets are a wack-a-sarus, So it is hard to get big lips on them. Also doing any kind of rolling fenders and pulling is a bit harder on aluminum. the last picture is more of my style. 

I think it should have been polished wheels but none the less awesome find


oh nice, I dont read that magazine so I missed it. I am on the fence about the Conti GT, I like it but its weird what Mansory does with it.. It is a cool style just weird how they execute it into a racer style car, almost super car-ish

I think a Bridal white coupe Rolls Royce with the 24 inch Chrome AutoCouture Rolls Royce Wheels airbagged would look Absolutely awesome!

Sick, I think it is cause it is smaller to drive haha. Usually a small person will pick a bentley cause its smaller, a phantom on a crack skinny boy dont look right.. big man big car.. i am medium.. haha

Also with a phantom, its not a drivers car.. and if you are going to make it be one you have to almost have a certain persona to do it. A good friend of mine just looks to innocent to drive one, I think most people would think he is the schauffer of the thing rather than the owner/driver. 

But who knows, tastes change.. I am entertaining the idea early like always.. will I follow through? who knows, maybe.. It will be a ways out on a phantom, it is a lot of car for money.. but i can buy two bents  for the price of a used one and have cash left over for service and that dumb thing called insurance..

Azure for sure.  there is a few on ebay that are not so bad priced. I like ebay, i would never buy a car from it. Nor do any of the dealers wish to sell one. They put them up for people to see, and then broker the deal when you call out side of ebay. 

One thing i have noticed, is i caught bentley slippin on some of the older models like 2000 and below on the wood trim that houses the cluster. It is all dip printed. 

The older ones where it shows what gear and message center between the two gauges rpm and mph it rounds in, and a lot of the time that printed wood grain doesnt wrap all the way around. You will see a plastic(y) look coming through. I noticed this when i went to look at one. (huge turn off) I then started wondering "if there, where else" The newer ones, not sure which year but i think 2003 up, they add a metal trim piece around the information center. I wonder if they did this so they can use "real" wood trim, or to cover up the contour of piece that is not getting fully printed. I will scour the internet and try to find pictures.

this is why i say that silver one, is way out of price for the milage

but on the real if you want it bad enough and you say this is what I want it is what you will get. You will drive a super cheap car, do nothing to it. Eat hella cheap(ramen) lol and don't ever go out. Just work and grind all the time. And befor you know it you got it. To me iwould rather nit do anything big for a couple years no travel no events no spending hard on dinner. And get what i want. I see it better doing that then buying a filler ( it will do for now car til I can afford) cause in reality, you won't get one with that it will do for now car. 

Go big or go home. And I would much rather stay home and one day come out big. It's why I am slow on updates, I do not like spending money on my projects cause that money can make more money. 

And to all the haters out there: you buy a bentley or a Ferrari or a lambo and someone hating sayin I can build fast for less and it will be better or why waste your money on this etc. Is tell em in ten years my car is on the road to being a classic while your car will a past trend of last year.

One thing i have noticed, is i caught bentley slippin on some of the older models like 2000 and below on the wood trim that houses the cluster. It is all dip printed. 

The older ones where it shows what gear and message center between the two gauges rpm and mph it rounds in, and a lot of the time that printed wood grain doesnt wrap all the way around. (huge turn off) I then started wondering "if there, where else" The newer ones, not sure which year but i think 2003 up, they add a metal trim piece around the information center. I wonder if they did this so they can use "real" wood trim, or to cover up the contour of piece that is not getting fully printed. I will scour the internet and try to find pictures.

It's the same as the scene people want to but can't afford too. And the bent has a BMW engine from the 5 series so maint is easy as buy parts for them. Other things well that's as good as what it should be. My XJ8 has 128k miles it's a 99. With mileage it has it has been cared for the way it should be. New water pump, belts, alty, batteries, shocks, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, muffler bushings, bulbs. No huge ticket items just all preventive maintenance. I just now did the brakes after 65k and replaced rotors after 128k originals. 

So sure a high mileage one is cheaper. But has the maint been done? A lower miles one won't have but need things done along the way. And probably bushings since it sat more than it drove

The parts list needed for this to be back on the road would be pretty long and pricey. There is another 04 up there for 150k with less miles yeah its 100k more but look at the damage on that silver one has  frame damage needs a left 3/4 front, suspension, dash and each exterior panel needs some form of body work. Looks like a good parts car to me not worth dropping that dough for a salvage phantom.
