Q45 flush rims

hey guys, I have a 98 Q45 and cannot seem to find info on a specific look. I am not new to rims or offset but I am new to the Q45, I also own an acura so staggered fitment is new to me. I have always been one to love the tucked look so I am getting air coilovers or bagging. was wondering if I showed a picture of what I like then maybe one of you could answer it. This pic is a legendary one from what it sounds like but I love how it is flush and has a deepdish look with a nice tuck. I dont plan on stretching the tire so ya if you could tell me what kind of offset and or size (width) I am looking for that would be great.

youre going to HAVE to stretch tires to get that look. 2nd car has a lot of rear fender work (radius, pull)

You gotta chose a style man, you're talking about wantin flush, then say how you like tucked and show a pic of a golf's Q tuckin, and got Racin's 430, who IIRC is radiused and won't tuck, but I thought sat flushed when aired out

sometimes people just see a buzzword (flush) and latch onto it without knowing what it really is, lol. :shrug:

stretch tires is a must you will either hit the fender or bag/shock without doing so.

Yeah you have to pick which way you want your wheels to fit then you can decide on sizes.

My bad guys LOL....no I came from more than just honda guy! LOL more like the racing scene. What I get from your comments is that flush means that the rim and fender (body line) is even, correct? When I say flush from where we are from it means it flows together kind of like its minty or its steez. My bad ... no if flush is like i just described no thats not what i want I like tucked. and in the honda game a stretched tire looks different then those pics i posted... if your saying that those tires are stretched then I am cool with that. Sorry for the confusion

honda game started stretching AFTER the euro/vip/hellaflush craze started.  yes, these are stretched tires.

I love these two cars. I miss seeing Golfkidd's car around the town. btw are you driving that silver M now? I see it from time to time when I'm filling up at chevron.

I remember way back when I was rockin the "flush" look and everybody was aganist it and preferd tuck and now more are for the"flush" look

It's all up to you fam! Which ever look you prefer. I think everybody starts to like tuck at first and then when they find out how much cleaner "flush" looks and how much work it takes to ride like that then they want to roll "flush". I like either or but prefer the "flush" look more. It's more impressive IMO....

HAHA its not that I dont consider that stretched BUT from the pic I cant see much stretch. What I mean is honda do stretch to extreme kind of like this! Pic came from Honda-tech.com

Not sayin I dont like flush I just always have loved low ass cars! including my integra and Acura TL. Figured being flush would be harder with a big lip like I want like cant lower as much and would need a camber kit. Am i right? or is it easier than tucked? its easier to tuck...all u need is just drop it and some amount of stretch and fender roll and ofcourse camber depending on offsets/widths.

but being "flush"is completely different...it doesnt involve just stretch and drop...alot of measuring(maths)and alot of time on tweaking your suspension etc etc to achieve that perfect stance...if you think its not your cup of tea just go with tuck...

HAHA ok, well I did not mean that the tire came from a Honda, only that most people I know that go for the stretch look go to the extreme like so. That being said, I did not see that type of stretch on the cars I posted unless Im blind. As far as researching, preperation, and taking time to do it right. . . is not a problem. I blueprinted and built my integra motor which involves alot of that hahaha. Now before someone says " well blueprinting a motor and building for flush is not the same", I understand. With that cleared up, I am just researching and would like input on how I go about with this build.

the reason our stretches arent as noticeable is because of the larger rims.  stretch appears more drastic on a 16" as opposed to a 19"

is it for the acura? or.. do you have the q45?

Not to mention we can't get away with those extreme stretches purely based on the weight of the car.

I dunno....I think we can run pretty aggressive streches
This is only a 245/35 on a 11

I'm now rockin a 235/35
My front is a 225/35 on a 10
There's a few others that are as agrressive if not more I/E Brokey & Pimprascal
Jus remember that it's not about who has the widest strech or most lip. Strech should only be down for the amount of clearence needed....... 
 
 
Back on topic though, the tuck look is starting to grow on me again. These are examples of some that pull off the tuck look perfectly IMO!

Back to topic, if ya need to run crazy stretches on these cars for flushness, they're possible. Weight's got nothin to do with it
255/40 on 12" wide
And I used to have 225/40 on 10.5"
Both these stretches are pretty nuts cause they still leave part of the barrells exposed. Its best to just run what's needed though. I get hook ups in these sizes, that's why I keep runnin em hahaha cause to be honest, right now a 265 or maybe 275 would fill my rear wheel wells better

rimtuck.com is good start ... do more research (search button is your best friend) ..

Plenty of good info on this forum. Just choose wheel style wisely, it is the biggest influence on your design.

to clarify, no, weight does not have anything to do with stretching, BUT you should be aware of load ratings when you go stretch since we do drive heavy cars. an overloaded tire will cause you issues, especially if you ever carry passengers or crap in your trunk. 

i wouldn't put a 225/35/19 on my y33 because the load rating is too low. it just doesn't leave a large enough safety margin for daily use, but that's just me. your priorities may be different depending on how you load and drive your car.

225-35-19 on a 9
and 235-35/45-19 on a 10 is fine! I ran that on mine for a long time w/ no problems. It all depends on if the tire is streched properly or not......
 
Damn Brokey, you're running a 40 series tire and riding like that? More crazyness :biggthumpup:
