Wheel repair specialist found in LA/OC area

I got this number awhile back from a BMW forum member. He was highly recommended for curb rashes and curb checks. His name is Son Tran. Well known in the BMW and high end car forums. I had curb rash on one of my LXZ and took it to Son Tran over the weekend. He works out in the Santa Monica area but occassionally visits the OC to do some work. He works out of his truck but he's got generator and compressor and all the tools necessary to do the job. Anyways the guy is very friendly and has VERY reasonable prices. Google his name "Son Tran Wheels" for some reviews. The work on my rim costed me $60.

Onsite Wheels
Son Tran

Before....The damage went about 3/4 around the rims edge.
Forum image

After... Sanded down and polished. Going to go back for finer polish as he promised when I go to drop off my other wheels.

does he re-do the clear coat too? I have used LAX wheel which is just East of downtown LA and they are frickin awesome, a huge OEM re-finisher. And most recently used Bolton's Classic Wheels in Gardena and they're good, but not as good as LAX Wheel. But on the other hand, Bolton is right down the street from me. I got a couple minor curbages on one back wheel I want cleaned up and that's about it.

my price is a little lower as i know the company that they get all their sanding supplies from, so i get a little better price then others.

but i will say for now until i delete it that for these wheels i paid $200 total for the face to be redone, and the lips to be polished and cleared. rechromeing the lip would have been more.

The wheels I had sent to LAX Wheel were Volk TE-37 to straighten and re-powder coat a different color was 60 per wheel. This was 6 or 7 years ago however. Your wheels look brand new Alex, and so did mine.

We should start a list of wheel re-finishers in So-Cal, so here goes:

Onsite Wheel Recond., Inc. - Son Tran (714) 742-6855

LAX Wheel Refinishing Inc. 1520 Spence Street, Los Angeles, CA 90023-3920 (323) 269-1484‎

Bolton's Classic Wheels 16516 S Western Avenue, Gardena, CA 90247 (310) 538-5046

Ok fellas got some info for you guys. I got a set of 20's Lsportline IV great aggressive offsets +24 all around well at least fir an IS350. Anyways got a hella of a deal on them but major curbage. Searched on this forum and all the threads regarding repairs there's a member that says to file and just increase on sand paper. Well yesterday I said the heck with it cause I was gonna take it to one of these places but I figured I'll give it ago so I did just that but instead of filing I used a polisher sander with 80 grit and grinded all the rash down even then started with 120-220-400 and etc up to 2000 grit and dude it came out just like the pic above. Prob is it's chrome not polished. So here's the info ------->. From expensive to least expensive. LAX then Boltons, and one not listed is D and S. So now that I fixed all 4 curbed wheels gonna take them to get rechromed.

Im looking to get my wheels refinished also, like the whole lip and face. I have the 18" Euroline DH and it has a diamond cut finish and polished lip.... the only thing is that its a 2piece welded. How about do I go on to refinish this wheel?

You'll lose the diamond cut finish if you get them refinished. Haven't heard of any shops that can replicate that rainbow shine that you get from Work's diamond cut finish.

I bet you LAX wheel can. They are an OEM refinisher, I saw pallets stacked sky high of brand new Dodge truck 20"s when I was there and they have to look OEM new. Not sure about other places, pretty positive Bolton Wheel can't do it, cause they re-finished my center caps and just polished them. They look good, but not like they came.

Yeah I don't care for the loss of the diamond cut finish. I just want a new refinished look. I was looking for a high polish nickle plated lip and face with anodized neochro assembly bolts..... Can LAX do this?

as most u guys know i got a set of 19 SSR Vienna Dish off JDM-wheels.com and got screw over and had to get my rims refinish. so i went to pick them up today and they screw up big time. the rims were Machine finish face with polish lip, after they refinish it came out to a dull grey colour as if they spray bomb it. as being the only place to repair rims in my city, i once again got rape hard. i don't have pictures of the rims now since their trying to fix it, which i highly doubt they can. now im thinking to ship my wheels out LAX, u guys think they can fix them and do a full polish finish?
