Rims are here. UCF10 19X10+10, 19X11+11 - opinions for fitting needed!
well, picked up the rims yesterday. tyres are shot down to the belts (!!) and rims are freshly powdercoated black (not my fav), and overall in good condish, just need to polish out some scratches in the dish to get them up to standard.
didnt get them on lastnight, but did it first thing this morning.
i was aware it was going to be a big ask given the offsets, but i just wasn't too sure HOW big of an ask. Anyway, held my breath, and bolted them up.
wheel specs are as follows:
SSR Strusse
19X10 +19 (245s)
19X11 +11(275s)
this is on stock suspension, just compressed it with the jack using some creativity. stock camber etc.
fronts:
fronts look ok, and i think with a roll, and a gentle pull and some 235's i might get away with it. wheel rim sits about 2cm outside the gaurd, and obviously will be less once the car is lowered to right height. so estimate i need to create about 1cm-1.5cm more room.
rears:
rears are going to be a slightly bigger prob i fear. obviously i can max out the camber, stretch the tyres, and shave, roll, pull. wheel rim edge sits about 3.5cm outside gaurds. estimate i'd need to create another 2.5cm of room to get over stretched tyres.
but i really want to avoid ruining the paint because the car is so clean, and i dont want to end up with the duckbill gaurds. i am prepared to roll and i'll just heat the paint and try keep it from cracking as best i can.
but i guess the question is: do you think i can get these under without having to respray the gaurds due to completely molesting them - or should i just give up before i even attempt it and save myself the grief.

i think first step would be to get your suspension, then get it installed.. then after see how it is once its lowered and the neg camber comes into play.. then after make measurements and see what needs to be done... but you will definitely need to stretch tires and roll/shave

are you talking on the outer skin? i know there is that little ridge that is just up inside the wheel wheel, i predicted that would need to be hammered out. or are you talking inner wheel tub (ie. towars the fuel tank).
and i have coilovers en route, but it won't make a difference because at the moment the gaurds are sitting on the tyres in those pics, it's not going to get any better with the coilovers.
adjusting the camber will make a difference, yes, but realistically, what's that going to give me? a cm at most?
i guess my question really comes back to - just how much work is going to be needed. if it will require me to repaint all four gaurds, then i mayswell respray the whole damn car, and i dont think i want to drop that kind of money into it.

you can go lower on the size of the tires.. 235 front and 245 on the rear. it will help a lot. and camber it...

yep that little hump/ridge is what im talkin about. u can probably just pull the fenders then get a body shop to respray it.

definitely going to be some work... more than anything "stock" or "gentle". camber and stretch will help, but unless you want the poke look be prepared.

but can i get another 1.5cm out of the stock metal in the front and another 2.5cm in the rear without having gaurds that look like ski ramps??

I have 19x10 +9 rears with 235/35/19.shavedthe rears almost flat and didnt have to pull. Camber is about -4 from lowering it naturally. On megan coilovers.

sounds promising.

it can be done but not with a pull.
first things first, get tires and max out your camber. then see what you need.

he's on a 20 and poking.

Not on 20's any more..On 19" Weds Kranze Cerberus 2...1997 LS400 to be specific..But yeah get your tires mounted and slam it. Go slow with the jack and see where the wheel lands. Usually looks like it wont clear when you are working that close. I clear by about 1-2mm in the rears. Your +11 will give you2 mm more than me so that might be perfect. I dont think 245's will work.

yeh but, dude, these are 11's - not 10's. so ad another 1.25cm's to that.
EDIT: just confirmed, if anyone is interested, that the UCF20's are 32mm wider than UCF10's, and so can take an extra 16mm of offset under the rear gaurds. explains a lot of the confusion created by rimtuck.com!!

he said cm, not mm (he's on the metric system). his wheels poke ~11mm more than yours.
and for the record i meant a ucf20, not 20".

just to update on this, i swapped these with someone for a set of leon hardiritt ritter type 1's in 19X9, 19X10 - +22 and +24.
i am MUCH happier with these, i'll be able to get the car tucking rim and looking very EXE style.
pics once the coilovers go in!
