How to chamber F50?

I dont mean to sound like a newb :crazy2:, I tried searching but could never get the answer I was looking for. :uglystupid2:

How would I run chamber on my F50? Do I need to get a chamber kit or is it something that can be done with simple hand tools? Thanks in advance.

Re: How to chamber F50?

? do you mean camber for wheels? if so, once you touch camber, it needs to be professionally aligned again.
hope that helps

Re: How to chamber F50?

Considering that there's not many lowering spring options for the F50 in the US, it's prob safe to say there's no readily-avl aftermarket control arms you can get that will allow you to adjust camber. I believe the suspension uses a derivative of that used on the FM platform, so you can look into that...

Re: How to chamber F50?

Wow fatty spacer! From what I've seen, to adjust rear camber on these cars (well, on FM chassis cars), you get adj lower arms, correct? So when you add neg camber, you're actually pushing the bottom of the wheels out more than you're pulling the top in...?

Re: How to chamber F50?

Does the F50 have separate spring/shock?

I can ask the owner of that white F50 that was in the Vipcar mag DVD. He has alot of camber on the rear...

Re: How to chamber F50?

On the last pic, you can see on the top center from the left is the upper control arm, the fork for the shock, and on the right is the spring. So yes, seperate shock and spring. The factory only has the front and rear lower links that adjust with an eccentric bolt. I have modified Kinetix G35/350Z links that allow much more adjustment. They are heavier and stronger than the stock ones and use Energy Suspension bushings as opposed to the factory rubber and most aftermarket spherical solid bushings.

There is another for that too.  Throw that fing lower mount in the trash and do a coil over in the rear shock.  The tire never even comes close and you can kick the lower out insted of pulling the top.  I cant belive these companeys are making seperate sping and shocks for these rear apps.  Infact a Mazda FD3s shock with a Z33 uper will work and you get your coil over a way better design.

On the subject of Z's this is what I have been doing for the last 3 months in Saudi Arabia

Re: How to chamber F50?

dvp, i just noticed he has it on his Carlife site - Garage Magical coilovers... I think they do spring/shock combo on the rear, cos the pic in vipstyle mag looks like a regular set of coilovers

The owner of that Cima doesn't mention camber arms in his site... I'm waiting on his response...

Re: How to chamber F50?

These are modified Kinetix Racing Front links and Radius rods. I got a good deal on these knowing that they won't fit without possible modification. And they are the only ones that use softer bushings since nearly all others use solid spherical bearings which is too harsh for a luxury sedan. The SPL looks good but also use solid bushing and whether it fits the F50 Q45 without major modification is a major concern. 3 mounting points vs 2 and a more complex shape.

awesome i wonder how much they are? Does his site have info on the specs of the coils? I bet since they are Garage Magicals you can slam the car to the ground with them. I still want air because of the better ride quality but i may end up with coil overs.

Re: How to chamber F50?

he did say in his review of the coilovers that he was impressed with the ride quality at that height...

G.M. Coilovers are custom made, and they are not cheap... Like starting at 288,000 yen up to 450,000 yen (thats the advertised price). I'll find out more, but i'm guessing that price might scare you away from them anyway :)

And yes, depending on how you order them i would expect ground contact was possible!

Hmm...here's a thought: valving and spring rate notwithstanding, I wonder if Z33 coilovers will bolt to an F50...?

Nope The spindle and the shock are one peice if Im right. Valving might be ok but you would need at least a 12kg spring for the front and 9's or 10's for the rear

wow for that price i hope they ride great. I need the ability to adjust height that Air offers im afraid that if I drive the car that slammed on coils that i will tear it up because Houston has nothing but crazy inclines to go anywhere.

Re: How to chamber F50?

I have a feeling garage magical coilovers of that caliber are also custom built on a per order basis, so they'd most likely want to have your car readily-avl for them to build the struts to suit it exactly. You gotta give it to them though.. they're pumping out some madness Nissans

that is the dream to ship my car to Japan and let a elite shop work on it. Or at least back to Cali where the workmanship is better for VIP tuning than here in Houston.

Yeah I almost picked up a set this summer. But the price with shipping was out of my range at the time.
