Nissan S14 Neo AWD Project cable connect no ways

Can not believe I am posting this here. I have it on my facebook.. but Since I was banned twice on northwestnissans.com for noob bashing and being my self, I will post it here, for the first time for public view

I have owned this s14 since 2002. It has gone from a base model 4 lug, red to a right hand drive moonstone pearl sr powered s14. with water to air intercooler to v mount setups. I painted the car my self, and did all the work my self with the help of my friends. The car was a big learning curve in what I know today in cars. I learned what i call skillz in wiring. S15 clusters on s14 wiring (if you know about it you know how much a pain in the ass it is to get it to work)

The car has gone through immense changes so sit tight, have fun looking at the pics :)

late 2002 after new paint 98 front,

did a complete color change to get rid of all the red.

using wire wheel to clean up any dirty objects. I really, really hate putting used parts that are dirty on my car.
Forum image
Forum image

Main pulley wire wheeled and painted, along with center bolt
Forum image
Forum image

gtr front sub frame, this is a 8 bolt system vs the 4 bolt that is on 240sx's luckly that the rear 4 bolts line up
and wants left of bolting on in the front is fairly straight forward.. almost plug and play (note the firewall from the clip I pulled out)
Forum image
totally needs to be cleaned up, blasted and painted. Remember any chassis piece that is painted with actual
ppg clear will keep dirt and grime off longer than the porous paint that is used on these parts.
Forum image

underside of 25.. looks clean to me
Forum image

26 intake manifold.. yes the rb25 will be twin turbo itb with the rb25's vtc :D
Forum image

painted in my signature shark skin
please ignore the rust build up in the water pump area.. its a iron block that sat for long time.

I love the smell of success. Way, WAY harder to take out on the car vs the clip.
I had the clip upside down, on its end, all sorts of ways to get at it.. the car is
a lot harder to work around

haha i know Alex.. I tried to get them to do special delivery.. but couldn't

its a RB25 Neo twin turbo, with itb's. It is a cross bread. The way the RB25 should have came. I think the 25 to me is better since it has variable valve timing on the intake port, which will make the ITB's the from the 26 very useful. Think of it as a de-stroked rb26. Lots of people have 26's around here so I guess you can call it being different from everyone else. I was gonna try to turn the "6" on the cover into a 5. May still do that if everyone thinks that "everything else" is tight but that. Frankly didnt care cause the 25 covers are gay looking

Haha. It's up to u. I've worked on RBs before and I could respect what you're doing to this one. I just got thrown off since it said 26 instead of 25. I changed mine out to have it blank. I'd rather have them guessing than faking the funk. Regardless whether or not your mods made it better. I wouldn't buy a 325i and put an M badge on it. Even if I made it faster. But like I said "everything else" is pretty tight.

^ you are absolutely correct I am the exact same way..
The front cover for me has to be on, I like them missing on RB's but for this car, I prefer it on. People see those covers and automatically think 26. I put them on since its like a art center piece to the gallery I am showing off. The 25 ones look so bland to me, Its the heart of the motor! It should look its best.
So if you take that intp account that i am re-engineering the rb25 into what it should have been "this is what it would look like" kind of thing. I don't like the 26 on the cover since it is not one But like stated, that will change since this is a mock up cover for the hole that needed to be drilled.. then later adding paint and so on. I had a 26 that I was going to rebuild.. and use for this car but traded it out for things, and got this 25.

I am happy about the 25, and think if anyone was to do a awd s14 like now two people have, used 26s. So to me this is a way of being different, like everyone else.

So now you can sleep at night knowing someone didnt put a gtr badge on a s14 :)

lol yeah, well i will dish as much as they can eat.

Been working on blue prints on a lot of stuff that would make Jay Z jealous. I just started learning cad with a friend of mine who is a machinist. Building a center lug adapter for the s14. Since it will be as heavy as a skyline, we need to drop the weight back to a s14. So that means light wheels, and lighter drive train. Right now got the adapter part done. but not the bore size for the actual wheel til i get the wheels. I am still really noob to center locks so not sure if they are all the same size or not.

I guess you can say its straying away from actually getting the car done.. and this would normally be a "oh hey lets do this while everything else is done" but not me. If i got time to do it, while other bs is being done or not done. Then I will fill it up with doing something that will get done later, but doing it now. If successful I will be selling the center lock hub conversions... or maybe not :D

But so far, ordered a few more things that have come in, and will post pics tonight if i remember. And, no the q45 has not been forgotten about

Looong ago while searching through some overseas sites online I came across some interesting 240 parts including a center lock kit. At the very least I know there is one company out of japan that sells replacement hubs that are center lock. I have it on one of my old hds so I'll give a look for it. Until then I know of I think two companies that did hub adapters. It is more of a speed/ease of use thing than weight or anything else.
http://www.onelugwheels.com/ You can get the adapters alone from them btw.

Just picked up the following:

new S14 doors, this way I can paint the inside, and have less body work on out side. JDM so they have the harness already in them since I donated mine to get another s14 going.

S15 door panels, will be trimmed and fitted on to s14 door panels. S15 door panels almost work but not quiet. this will be fun!

Rb25 engine harness

turbo elbows from 300zx so i can run a much tighter fit with a pair of turbos on the 25.

a flocking gun so I can flock the dash and door panels (rally spec) woot woot!

new front window! that wont go in til it gets painted.

Juran exhaust system

Kouki S14 harness CDN. this way I can have the low beams stay on with the highbeams.

Another Full s14 harness with rear wiper harness integrated. will finally have one working!

Pics will be up this week if you care to see

project on a slight hold due to slow progress on the build. Awaiting work to get finished. But in the mean time, Picked up another s14! It was my buddies car that got hit really bad in the front. It has been down over 2 years sitting, parted out.. I have almost everything from my s14 to put on to it. Basically rescuing it from the scrappers!

It will be my Tribute Build of Japans recent events. Since they have similar stories, I figured it would be very fitting to do this.

My buddy was selling the car at the time, and had it sold to a guy who got a loan for the car, and was awaiting paper work. He was driving down a well populated street when he went through an intersection and a woman took the car out when she ran a red light. Little did he see, that a person was crossing the street at the same time in the same direction he was going. Where the woman hit my friends car was in the drivers front, if he was going slower, or not meeting me that day for coffee.. the lady crossing the street would have been killed.

So I will be rebuilding the car from the devastation, much like Japan will be rebuilt, and be better than ever. Just cause the car was considered totaled doesn't mean it has to die and be forgotten.

I am putting a lot on hold for this car, and hope to have it done in a timely matter so it can be shown at my good friends Nissan Dealer. ( I will open a new thread for this once i have good updates.) Sorry to those who may have cared about this thread haha

project on a slight hold due to slow progress on the build.

I really have to thank my buddy for lending his garage for the RB since i have no room in mine :( You know you need bigger garage when it is filled with parts, typical house stuff and a project car and a daily, and a storage unit containing entire parts for a 14, plus a unit for the 14 to begin with lol grr

forgot the front picture lol

thanks, still a work in progress. Nothing really new to report really. Just cleaning out my storage unit and found a bunch of non needed s14 stuff in there. I forgot i still had the Coolbox! it goes in the glove box and the ac piping fits to it and you have a mini fridge haha. I wont have ac, so it sucks i wont be using it :pat: I did however find my quart of touch up paint Rosso Corsa red which is a yumm color.

The original color of the car was red (AJ4) which AJ is my name so it was destiny haha. I am really contemplating on going back to red since so many people are going green now days, eco, and paint wise haha.

I have really put the car on the back burner compared to whats going on with the Q. I really feel bad about it. And now my Jag needs a new engine it is getting difficult to spread the love to each car now. My spare s14 doors are getting stripped to shells so i can paint the jambs. Will at least have progress pics of that this weekend! Maybe thats what i will use the paint i found in my unit.

Anyone have stock s14 door panels? Any condition, i dont care if the material is on it, center is banged up. All i need is the outter edge to be intact. I have one, but willing to take a pair off someone if they are gonna throw them away.

Super contemplating on Powered by Max coilovers for this project. Which most likely is going to happen due to them being able to make em to specs. A rb and the extra added awd weight will not be good enough for standard s14 coils.

as far as spindle and strut towers go. I will not need the gtr strut tower grafted in since i will be adapting the spindle to fit s14 coilovers

Kinda like this except the gtr has a different spindle and the coilover mount will be higher up. I am just worried about what size the overall length of Powered by Max coils are. If i crank em down will the bottom almost hit the half shaft . time to ask PBM!

no, i am not actually. I hate other forums. One other i am on is a complete opposite side of the spectrum on cars.

This project went back on hold til i get my jaguar back from getting a new fresh engine. til then, got to make more money to get back on this. I have small misc things to do that arent as big but help the project progress. They are things I need to do anyway even if the car is almost complete or not.

After installing a customers Powered By Max coilovers.. I am seriously going to run them on this car. I can not wait when that happens. One it will be done, two they will be custom set for what is in it, and three, super craftsmanship on them

Thanks to AGI! I ordered my red suede. I didnt think they (unisuede) had the color i wanted. It looks right soo.. I hope it works. Sadly I have to now wait til the 10th to for it to come in.

Since I have a s15 dash in my car, this is what scheme I am going with. Instead of tan, it will be red.

I think powered by max should sponsor me haha. That is, if I can this car done in a timely matter it will be nice. I will be using their coilovers and their intercooler kit as a vmount setup.

Also Bump for S14 door panels. Any shape, does not matter as long as its not cracked or missing a piece out of it. Cause the center will be cut out on it.

A lot of the new cadilacs are having black leather dashes with off white stitching on most the edges. That is really appealing to me. Or you could do red stitching to match the red suede lower...... Just a thought

Got the fuel rail taken apart. This is all the time i have now days lol. Cleaned it up, and boy did it clean up nicely. I took measurements on my rb25 plenum and found out, I can not use the stock one. Need to get aftermarket one just to cut the plenum off. Aftermarket ones the runners are straight, unlike the stock one where the middle two tapper downwards. oh wells, time to buy a knock off just to knock half of it off. any who, on with pics

Here is someone else's motor. I forgot to take a pic of how the plenum runners are. but you can see it in this pic of how they turn downwards. I could cut further back where it is more straight.. but I run into clearance issues with the 26 itbs coming into contact with the how it would bolt up to the head and injectors

Thanks.
the fuel rail looks awesome. A few more parts should be coming in soon. Block is ready to be hot tanked finally lol. Decided against uprated pistons and crank. But try to get the most out of the stock stuff. Like shotpeen the rods, Balance the internals with a light weight crank pulley and flywheel.

I have all solid lifters, just need to get up rated springs and retainers. I would like to rev it higher since solid lifters retainers and springs and cams will make a 26 rev out to 9k, I want to be about 8k. I think I will notice more with the ITBs that way and get more from the turbos. Turbos, what a head ache to figure out the right combination.

I do not care about high hp applications, I am doing strictly response with this. You probably ask why not a single turbo rather than 2 turbos. Well my theory, I have not researched this. But that is a lot of volume of air to pass through the ports to get crammed into a turbo, and shot out down the exhaust. Where with two, you are only cramming three cylinders into a turbo. And yes I understand that its not all at once, but you are limiting the air travel to the turbo with two manifolds than one. Using a balance tube between the two manifolds like a v8 has in the exhaust should make it flow better.

Also plumbing the bov into the balance tube so when the bov lets off, it goes straight in line into the manifold into the turbo, and using a vacuum effect to pull it faster into it. Much like a pulse vac instead of a catch can. Problem with routing the bov into the front of the turbo like stock. You are recycling air from the piping back into the piping. Instead of pulling in fresh colder air. As well as it is impossible to route it into the turbo with out effecting the air flow to the turbo and getting most from it. Where the inlet is made for air coming in, and the exhaust side is made for air coming down. Keeping the flow, and the piping size equal through out the system will give you much better response.

Is this all useless on a vip forum? of course! lol

oh cute, HKS makes one already with the balance tube. If i didnt like my stout heavy duty cast iron mani's i would have bought a thin wall stainless, but for flow, for dollars, I can use the money on something else.

the fuel rail looks awesome.

For sure. It pretty much lines up but the dash is a bit shorter. I personally like the 14 better than the 15. If i bought a 15, it would have a kouki 14 front end on it.

i still have it. haha Updates are i have bought some front spindles, and suspension pieces for the front spindle conversion to run the awd. Since I will only be using just the awd cradle and not the gtr suspension. But that is about it. I am still trying to balance out shop time to get it in, and not run into other things that need to get done. I am contemplating on putting a whole new floor in the car with new frame rails as mine are beat up.
