finally got my wheels back

so after my ordeal with jdm-wheels i got my rims refinish and ohh boy was it a nightmare dealing with my one and only local  wheel repair shop. after 3 months, 3 tries to get the finish right, i finally got it back. it's fully polish lips + face and painted silver inserted. their still some very fine swirl marks on the face but hell, it looks 10 times better then what they tried to give back to me. finally i can install my megans after i buy tires for this.

u think i would of got a discount  but nope, none. i still paid a high premium for it $850.00 for the refinish , and 1,600 for the wheels. could of bought my self a new set for $1000.00 more. never cutting corners again unless the item is from a reliable source.

u wouldn't imigine the things i had to go through. at one point the owner told me if i didn't take the wheels as it was, he was gonna burn them and throw them out!! at the end one of the worker said he will try to fix it or  else i would have to take the unfinished wheels that had a dull silver look with lots of scratches for $600.00.   I'm just glad it's over with and they came out good, or else i would of have just gave up on these wheels.

oic..i am just curious because i have a feeling it should be cheaper with a new set.

thanks guys, anyways i was wondering is there any other alternative for 275/35/19 beside for going down to a 30 series?i reallie don't want to run a 30 series tires due to massive pot holes + city has alot of construction going on. these r for my rears which r 19 x 10 +24.

i was looking to get federal 595 tires since their the cheapest i can find locally, and the closet tire size  to what i was looking for was 245/35ZR19. would that work?

I ran 235/35/19's on my 9.5" wheels, and it was 'perfect' to me. Running a  245/35 on a 10" should work fine. Why do you want to run a 275?

i only reason im looking for 275, cause  it was recommend for my setup and drop.

i got 245's on my 10's right now on a ucf20 and absolutely love the look.  The 235's I had before ran narrow anyway and was just too much for me.  The 245's I got look a tad meatier and look perfect.

Looks 10x better. I need to get mine redone too. I have DH's and the lips are 
ruined. I've always wondered what a shop might charge to refinish them. They 
are in storage right now but you've given me inspiration.

usually the cost to refinish wheels is abt 700 - 800. if ur in the L.A area u can go to LAX and dippedparts, which have been praise for their good quality work.

yah that's why ima wax them 1st and use quick detail spray on them every few days to keep them clean. 

anyways here is the update, got the megan's installed today and it's about zero finger gap all around. the ride is pretty good, kinda feels like my dad 07 v6 accord but lil bit better. btw anyone know why my left rear side always sinks lower when im parked on a hill or incline driveway? at 1st always thought my old shocks were giving out but it still happens. anyone know this is normal?

i know i need to go lower but i was rubbing and raised it abt 1.25 inches. gonna go lower next year when i have money to roll the fenders. it been raining the last few days so i need to re-polish the wheels.

Looking good =) If you use aluminum cleaning/polish paste it will help seal and maintain the finish even in the rain

It came out pretty nice IMO. Nice car.

you can cut out the rears and pay someone to roll the fronts 35-50 per side...not too expensive.

which ones? i been using the mothers metal polisher, does that one seal in the shine to? usually after the rain i always just do  a quick clean down + detail spray to keep it clean.

not many places will roll fenders where i live and their is only one trust worthy body shop that would do it for 75 per corner. also i don't trust my self cutting out the rears and the shop that quoted me for rolling, said cutting is more expensive then rolling the fender.  anyways there is always next year, im a just take it slowly. 
 

anyways i played around with the adjustment a lil bit and got it a tad bit lower about half a inch all around. i only rub up front when going up or down a drive way at full lock and some time at random road bumps.

FYI, you should never be at full lock when going up or down a driveway if you're tucking even the slightest bit of tire. That's the easiest way to mess up your front fenders. Always have your wheels straightened out before heading into/out of the driveway.
