Nub in SoCal

Hey guys. I've been on this site just browsing around and looking at all the different builds. It all gives me inspiration from the VIP platforms, to the eggs, and somehow i'm still waiting on a VIP prius or the Hyundai Genesis Sedan.

Anyways I'm only 17 and I drive a 1995 camry for now... I hope to get a Gs300 1st gen or 2nd gen by the time i graduate. I also take photos for fun. So if any of you guys want a photoshoot just hit me up. I may not be great but I'm still learning.

^ which = more money for mods, and a done up 1st gen looks just as good, if not better (albeit different) then a 2nd gen

I'm with both of you on this one. The 1st gen gs was really ahead of it's time with the projector headlights and styling. Lots of aftermarket support and I think they still, 15 years years later have an exclusive/exotic look to them.

I agree, but I have so much to learn. I barely know anything about cars, besides some parts and stuff. But I mean the whole art of making your car low, with aggressive offsets with your rims, then there's the type of tire to buy for the best stretch. It gets pretty confusing, but i love it.

the only thing I dont really like about the 1st Gen Gs are the tail lights, but i think that might grow on me. anyone wanna convince me to like them? ahaha

You could shave the trunk lamps. Same 3 piece tail light set up on my camry and I had the center piece painted out body color and reded out the outer tails and it gave the car a completely different look. Everyone likes to get the jdm tails where instead of "gs300" is says "aristo" but, I'd lke t see one with the trunk lamp shaved myself.

that sounds interesting... I might tape up the lights of my camry today just to see how that looks. But just to be sure can you show me a picture of what you're talking about? sorry...

That was in 2000, I didn't use computers back then lol. I have an actual 3x5 photo somewhere in boxes or something though, but just to get an idea you could pop open your trunk and stand back...the only lights you see would be the outside corner ones. the one across the trunk would be the same color as the car OR taken out, sheet metal layd across and welded in place and painted the same color as the car. Only down side is that you'll loose your reverse lamps function but just hit your hazards when in reverse and you should be cool. Another thing you could do is find a picture of a black 1st gen gs or one of your camry and print it off, take that picture and a black pen and color across the trunk lamp. That'll give you a rough idea of what it;ll look like.

oooh I see... yea my camry's already like that kinda... ehh I don't want to spend money on my camry. I'll just work and save up for a 1st gen gs and get work VSXX's or work DH's. then lower it on coils, camber, HKS Hi-Power exhaust, then retrofitting my lights and etc... this is gonna be a lot of work ahaha

Yeah, your camry is probablly a 4 piece tail light, not 3 piece. I'm with you on just saving up for the gs. See what trade in value is on your camry. There are some websites like autotrader and carmax to name a few where you can enter your camry's year, mileage, condition, location, etc. and it'll give you an estimate. You might be suprised, ight be able to get out from your camry and cop your gs sooner than you though. Just do your research on lexus forums and what not to see what to look for, or look out for. Also, just an idea, you might want to lower it before you get your wheels - instant gratification, I'd personally rather drive around in a car that's slammed on stocks while lookig for a deal on wheels - just an idea.

yea but my camry got a hit and run around a month ago. and the police never found the driver who did it, and my parents don't want to claim the hit and run to the insurance company cuhz they might claim it as salvaged. so i just duck taped the bumper... LOL. hrmm Yea i always wondered what a stock gs would look like slammed on stock wheels and make it flush with spacers... just a curious idea...
