92 LS TUNE UP WITH HI MILES

SUP GUYS IM NEW AS YOU CAN SEE, JUST PICKED UP A 92 LS400 WITH 200+ THOUSAND MILES ON IT. I WANT TO GET A GOOD TUNE UP ON IT AND JUST WANT TO KEEP UP MAINTANACE ON IT TO KEEP HER RUNNING GOOD, WHAT ARE SOME THINGS I SHOULD DO OR CHANGE ON MY MTOTR?? AND WEN I GET UP TO SPEED TO LIKE 45 IT FEELS LIKE ITS SKIPPING OR SUMTHING? I HAD PUT SOME GRADE GAS 87 BY MISTAKE COULD THAT BE THE CAUSE OR A GOOD SPARK PLUGS AND WIRE HELP THAT? ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT THANKS

should i put some seafoam in my oil before a oil change to clean it up?? should i do seafoam to the brake booster??

get rid of the 87 and put some 93 in there. put some chevron fuel treatment also.

u dont have to put the seafoam in the oil but u can. pcv valve if ur running the seafoam.

 COOL THANKS BUT WHAT YOU MEAN BY PCV VALVE? U MEAN CHANGE IT IF IM USING SEAFOAM?

I had that same hesitation at the same speed when I first got my '93 LS, tried Seafoam in the motor and gas tank but still hesitated...figured it was a misfire so I replaced the plugs and wires and it fixed the problem...hope this helps

Yes she'll run like a burrito is in the tailpipe if you use 87, use 91 and shell be happy.

Make sure the timing belt was done around 190k mileage, if they haven't been done the spark plugs, and water pump should be replaced while your in their too. Like Joe said the fuel treatment for your injectors does good too, I'd save sea foam for last if I were you.  Errr run synthetic oil like mobil-1, and pay attention to any noise the car may be making.  These cars have a habit of warning you when something is due to be changed way ahead of time if you turn down the music every once In awhile.

dealer just called me, they didnt have enuff spark splugs to change them out! they only had 4,   all 8 of the splus are the same right? he was makin it seem like the 4 and on the other side 4 are differnt plugs it needed?

well heres a lil update from the dealer. i cant beleave they gave me the keys and think i was going to be ok with it!! it was running like a dream before i took it up there to get a full tune up, thinking they was the dealer ship they do a A-1 job. well wen i went up there to pick it up, i started her up and it didnt sound rite?! feel rite?! the motor was shaking and wen i took off to drive it it didnt have no power at all!!!!!!!!!!! whatever they did to my lexus they did not know what they was doing, dont know if they put the wrong plus in or gapped them wrong or put the wires on wrong or what! it feels like a old broken down chevy, man im so mad. so i left it there and told them they better fix this problem cuz it wasnt like this before at all, they told me to call wednesday morning, ah man they better have it rite or else:rules::signdammit::pat::sad::saiyancrunks:

WTF take it back and demand your cash back.

The plugs are all the same from what I know on 1UZ's. Talking about giving the engine a refresh though, I'd also say to change all the seals, gaskets and hoses as well.

I bet they probably forgot to connect a hose that was removed when doing the job. Always speak to the service manager if you are not getting any results from the advisor.

update- dealer called me and said they put wrong spark plugs in and theres 2 spark plugwires messed up? my thing is i told them i wanted new spark plug wires in but they said my old 1s are ok? now they telling me they got to get $800 for new plugs wires cap and rotor now? why do i got to pay for sumthing they did wrong?? i think the wrong plugs trigured alote of stuff on  my motor to go bad what yall think? i talked to the manager she was like aw you got to consider its a older caar with alote of miles so things will go wrong? wtf! the car was running like a lexus wen i brought it up there so dont be talking that :saiyancrunks::saiyancrunks::saiyancrunks:

i might just go get the car towed to my hose, cuz if they did do it there aint going to be no warrenty on the parts, carquest or naa got the parts for lifetime warrenty i think, so what do i all need to do a tune, CAP AND ROTOR IS THERE 2 ROTORS?? PLUG WIRES? THE CAP TO HOLD THE WIRES DOWN AND SPECIAL CLAMPS?? WHAT I SHOULD GET???

Did you take the car in for a full tune-up with plugs,wires,cap and rotor, or drop it off for just spark plugs. If you dropped it off for a full tune-up with everything it doesn't matter if they messed up a plug wires. It was going to be replaced anyway. Ether way your car should come out running the same or better. I wouldn't put Carquest and Napa parts on my Lexus. OEM is the only way to go IMO.
