when hit in the rear........

and it buckles your fenders what do you guys do to make the fender as OEM as possible. I guess how do you ask the shop to put the fender back to its original state?

because when i got rear ended they said they had to put my car back on a frame rack to "unbuckle" my rear passenger fender. The biggest problem with that is, is that when they pull it out it makes the fender sit closer to the wheel and it messes up alot of the body lines on the rear. Mine isnt as noticable but it fucks with my wheels fitment BIG TIME.... 

what solutions do you guys have? i mean i am about to have some really aggressive fitment soon.. 19x9/10+5 all around. of course stretched tires!!

anyways any thoughts??

they didnt total the car?

rear enders that buckle the fender usually result in Totaling. There was a guy out here that took his car to mexico i think after buying it back form insurance and the pretty much mad the car whole again so it's possible but I am not sure what the process was to have it done.

99% of the time, buckling rear quarter panels = instant total, especially on cars more than a year or two old. it's gonna suck when you try to sell your car, the resale value just plummeted.

it was a slight buckle nothing big enough to total the car....

A car doesn't get totalled just because of that issue in that case there would be alot of cars off the road thats why manufactures make replacement panels. Definitely not after a year or two. Different insurance companies have a percentage they go by lets say its 85% once the repairs to the car hit that point then the car will be totalled because its not cost effective for them to repair it. Or also if the repairs that need to be preformed will make the car unsafe to be on the road then if there is another accident were somebody was hurt/killed due to the repair then they will be at fault. Whenever your car was fixed the body guy probably didn't consider or know that fitment will be a problem since it wouldn't be if you had stock wheels and suspension.

Get some quarter panels on an online junk yard.  Should be real easy to find on a popular model like yours

Where did the quarter buckle? And if it was hit hard enough to buckle it what does the rest of structure on the rear of the car look like?

Was it an ice cream truck that hit you?

I would buy a new car and start over. You're gonna have strange fitment problems now.

its NOT an automatic total on buckling... when they pull the rear out, you can have them redo the fitment...it wont add that much more time on the work and its better to do it now before paint obviously.

I was rear ended over a year ago and the you could see a small kink in the fenders. I took it to a reputable body and they fixed it right up. The car is a 2006 Lexus IS350.

Any body shop will "fix" that but HOW they fix it is the question.  My S500 got hit in the rear in 07 and it kinked the fenders.  It was "fixed" (with bondo) but now, 3 years later, I have some serious rust issues and am looking at ~$750 to fix and thats the homie hook up price and that DOES NOT included paint.  Thats not even to replace the quarters that's a sandblast and remud. (Plus its fucked from me backing into a tree, more embarrassing is 3 days after I hit the tree with my car I physically walked into the tree when texting in the dark.)
