School me on Camry Wagons

I'm seriously considering picking up a 92-96 Camry wagon (V6) for a daily. I've looked around and haven't seen much on these in VIP style. I know it's FWD, blah blah blah, but I need the space to carry stuff as my MR-S isn't so good at that (no trunk). Probably a bit of a stretch as this chassis was not sold in Japan, so 'JDM' parts are virtually null.

Any low/flush XV10's? Pics and inspiration is welcome as well.

Seems doubtful...doesn't really seem like much of a aftermarket either.

if you are needing a wagon, try Subarus...many coilovers and springs for the Legacy Wagons and Outbacks, and many suspension components are interchangeable...again, not VIP but still a nice, slammed wagon with wheels.

Like ghOst suggested, try a Subaru, or an Accord wagon. At least either of those have [i]some[/i] sense of style to them.  A Subaru Legacy GT wagon done right would be tits though.

hmm, Subaru wagons seem to hold their value a bit better over the years. Around here, they go for about $2k more than any Camry wagon. Good thing about the Camrys of that year is they share a lot with the 92-96 ES300's. Looks like some companies have suspension available for them as well.

I LOVED my 92 Camry....seeing a VIP'ed Camry wagon would be dope. Great idea actually...ahh...the back seat memories which my brother has to deal with. The legacy continues.

I'd say get the next gen Camry wagon if you're looking to get one (dunno if they sold them over your side of the world though). I think they're called a Camry Gracia in Japan.

I bought it. 93 Camry V6 wagon. I need to replace the transmission first, then I will start some modding. Any idea on who makes some cool aero? All I can find is 90's ricer stuff :(

for aero go custom... you wont find the vip look with whats out there. get creative. :)

for aero do what they are doing on the q 45 over on liberty's site. find bumpers from a similarly shaped luxury car and adapt them to fit front and rear. for the side skirts get some of the ricer ones and have the body shop make them a bit more subtle. for suspension there are coilover applications available i'm sure if not there is always air. but i'm pretty sure there are coilovers out there. that year camry wagon is pretty friggin big and wide. with the right wheels and stance it'll be sick. you can pull off the look but it wont be easy.

Yup, I was planning on just sticking to coilovers. I was kind of figuring I would have to go custom on the aero too...

I got her home today :) Paid $450, but has a bad trans (need to rev it high to get it to barely move backward)

I would do an accord wagon if I was going to do something like this...huge aftermarket support and there are a few clean kits out there.

ha Xenon still around? they had a kit for the Camry. even Stillen had one for awhile

Aftermarket isn't everything. Gosh c'mon people. I swear. Especially in this scene. Aftermarket aint shit unless u wanna look like everyone else. The rawest cars out are custom.

Hell yes!  I have a 96 sedan (as some of the Chicago guys know) that I've been toying with for quite some time now.

Nachmensch, let me know what you want for the Camry.  The aftermarket is small but there is a lot for this car that might surprise you.

Anyway, I found some Work VS Edition wheels for cheap. They're like 18x8 18x9 +30 something, around what fits. It's a start.

I hear on Club Lexus that the Harrier/Lexus RX is considered a Camry Wagon in Japan. I think maybe a cousin myself. So much of the RX is borrowed from the Camry. Chassis, engine and so on. Def. Part of the Wagon family that's for sure.

Lexus RX is a Harrier in Japan. Highlander is a cousin to the RX which is a Klueger in Japan.

Yes I know it's called the Harrier and the highlander is it's cousin as some of that I wrote already. It is supposedly also "considered" a Camry Wagon in Japan and we talk about this allot on the Lexus forum some fact from Toyota Corp. some rumor and discussion. Camry wagon with AWD option. This is a thing I would rather not debate. I think maybe this is a more older line of True Camry wagons from a prev. generation and I am bringing up some thing the OP was not asking about technically.

These things go FOREVER. My coworker has a 95' that, I swear, has 345,000 miles. This thing runs better than most cars newer than it. Trans shifts fine and everything.

anyone can look in a mag buy parts and slap it on.. 

some times have to venture out of the box.. and use your own imagination.

Do some searching on ebay.com.au there were a lot of these sold in Australia. I sold them new at time. Leather and electric seats was an option in grande model and touring model with stiffer suspension in the sedan.

i loved stancing my 96 legacy wagon...hopefully you have as much fun!
