Well, after waiting over a month, I finally recieved my rear wing add on spoiler for my 96 odyssey (RA-2)..I figured that the fit would be good/excelent since it came from Japan..Boy was I wrong..The wings contour does not match on one side and the center sits low causing the edges to "float"..The finsih is o.k. Actually, my bodykit, which is a knockoff version, fits a whole lot better than the wing :'(.. I was a little disapointed but it's still workable. Also, no cut out/provisons for the 3rd brake light..I'm still figuring out on how to get one mounted..

I'll need to check with my source in Japan..
Today, I decided to mount the stock brake lamp to the wing. Test fitted also after some sanding but I still need to work on the pass. side to make sit flush... >:(

You know whats funny? I pulled up behind an Odyssey last night. It was white, had similar if not same rims, same kit (dual exhausts), same ride height, he had a spoiler almost identical to the one you are about to fit...
I spun out and said to myself "I'm sure that guy is in the US... I'm SURE of it!" He did have a lightup Honda logo on the back tho

That would be nuts, if there's a twin that is simialr to mines, somewhere in the continental U.S.... :o

Re: A little disapointed
The funny thing is Dominik is in AUS!
If you paid under 300 for the spoiler (not counting shipping/customs/etc.), then it's most likely a cheap knockoff of another company's spoiler... probably manufactured in China or Taiwan. Most name brand spoilers will also have a tag embedded in the resin with their company logo also, so check to see if there is one. Not all real name brand fiberglass parts fit perfectly either, but it's like a 2 out of 10 ratio of bad:good for the real stuff, vs, say, 8:10 ratio of bad:good for knockoffs

I read on another site that AUS and New Zealand has alot of vans/wagons imported there from Japan so I would not be suprised at all now...
Thanks for the info on the wing..There is no resined tag on the wing so it must be a knock off then.. :'( Oh well, the whole van is literally now a rolling knock off..LOL..I guess that even if the part is form japan, it doesn't mean that it's going to be great quality esp. if it is a knockoff and not a NAME brand....My bad..I just thought that ALL Japan parts were good/excellent quality..Oh well..Atleast I got it to work though.. ;)

Actually, it was the first modified ody i have seen in that generation, so not that common (a few of the latest model - same as JDM so its pretty popular).
But when i posted the thread i said to myself "i bet he's gonna want pics" which unfortunately i dont have... I'll scout around though and see what i can find. Plus, i was trying to act all nonchalent cos he was staring at my car too. I'm not used to the attention dammit!

Re: A little disapointed
the spoiler doesnt look too bad. nothing wrong with a knockoff as long as it fits and looks real in the end. and yeah, those rims need to go haha, what size are they 17's?

Thanks for the comment..Wheels are 18x8.5 +38..Still trying to figure if 18x10 +36 will fit in the back with no mods..

Re: A little disapointed
its about what, 3/4" wider on each side of the rim? you sure you cant fit that? and if those are 18's they look a little bit small...maybe because its not lowered enough.

I actually mocked them up and they won't fit in that offset. It'l stick out just a tad bit too much without fender mods..Maybe 9 or 9.5...I plan to change the wheels but maybe sometime next year..Still run 18's.. 19 a little to big for this motor/trans package.
Back to the subject, wing is done and mounted..3rd brake light opening a little rough but I need to space the light out a little to hide the defect..Other else that that, I'm very pleased..Sorry for the double posts.Pics are in the van,/wagon/box section also. :-[

Nice profile...the wheels are pretty nice, I like how they look anyways.
I think you could get away with not being very low by having larger wheels to fill out the wheelwells...oh well, doesn't keep it from being nice

Re: A little disapointed
I think you've done very well, No-one would know it's got knock-off parts unless they looked hard for badging so I wouldn't worry about that. But I do agree with some of the other's in saying that your wheel/tyre combo could either be a little bigger or you could lower it a little more to get it sitting tough and give it the low/fat stance. Just my opinion, other than that a job very well done :)

Just kidding man. ;) I've always loved those vans with kits sitting on the ground with a nice set of wheels. Too cool man.

There are a lot of knockoff companies in Japan now including a few that have their kits made in China. They make copies of Fabulous, Junction Produce, etc.. etc.. There is even a Parfume knock off now.
Just check your recent Drift Tengoku, Option mags where the crowd is younger and you will see these companies.
In general not all 'JDM' companies make parts that fit due to QC and quantity made per mold. We have delt with a few where parts are not better than the stuff I have seen. It is actually not the country of origin that determines the quality but the actual quality control of the companies that produce these parts.
