Yellow Fog Light Capsules

Anyone know where I can find some of these? I want to retro some on my Y33 fogs.

Is it a Lexus OE part? Part number?

I'm pretty sure they make replacement bulbs that are yellow, but why would you want to make a Q look like a Lexus???? I don't even like it on exus as it is but especially not on a Q.......Of course, all of my exterior lighting has to match so I am pretty anal about multiple colors on the outside.

Haha. I guess I just like the yellow. Maybe I'll just save for some HIDs to match the headlights.

Yellow is more functional to be sure. I dunno why you would do so much work to get yellow bulbs when you could just replace the bulb itself. Color alone is all about what you like I guess. I was going to get matching HID's for my fogs but I wold have gotten bored quicker lol.

when you can pick up an h3-based hid kit off ebay for $38, there's no excuse not to run them in your fogs, haha

i just baked open my fogs on my Q then cut out the shield with a dremel. that way the hid bulb doesnt hit the shield. so much easier than dremeling open the housing itself. it will look alot cleaner if you do it this way. then just run whatever color hid you like. i personally dont like the yellow either. I got leds that match the color of my headlights. everything is about 5k pure white.

Those are H4 covers...I remember using those back in the mid 90s, but they kinda disappeared. I then later uncovered them through a Snowmobile website.

Thx waijai. H4 only? Y33 fogs are h3. I'm sure I could make them work. I might just go HID though.

you can get them out of Acura Vigors, and Older mercedes.. i put some in my 929 fogs..had a yellow tint to the fogs when they were off. if thats what your going for. I eventually wanted to just get the hid fogs, but i was at the pulla part one day and got some and tried it out and it did the job.

yellow isn't a "lexus thing", it's for increased visibility during poor weather conditions (you know... the purpose of fog lights).

on the cosmetic side i've never seen a bulb match the color of the yallow capsules.

personally i think yellow lights look sick. not just fogs either, i'll probably run full yellow on something at sometime.

I agree it'd be easier to just pick up a set of 3k HiDs, DDM tuning runs about $50, that's with error code cancelers, if you need them, lifetime warranty, good customer service. But if your after the capsules, older benz, lex and acura have them, check your local salvage yard and google the diy.
And I agree w/ BLK, seen a black Ferrari the other night running all yellows and it got me hooked...

^ wrd to ddm. $45 for ballasts and bulbs, i've not had a ballast go out on my car, been on for about 11 months now. my buddy has had ballasts go out on his car (we've pretty much concluded it's a wiring issue due to bad wiring from a front end repair) and they're awesome about swapping out the ballasts.

Yup, I had a ballast go out on me at just about 1 year to the date and they gave me 2 new ballasts no questions asked.

$45 is a great price. Seems like the support is there too, not like an eBay store. I'll look them up. I'd like to do the 3k with the capsules, ultra yellow. Haha.

Agreed that functional light in the fog has to be a yellow tint(the whole purpose of Fog Lights) but most people alter it for the look.

Im ordering my HID fogs tonight/tomorrow for my y33 and I def want the 3000k. If I get the 55w, will the yellow look washed out or will I be fine with the 35w 3000k? (Ill be ordering from DDM)

Side question: Is it worth it to run HIDs in the high beams? (55w 6000k)

DDM was great back then, not sure about now I went down there a few weeks ago to pick up some 5000k bulbs for my foglights. Turns out to be yellow and not white tested 3 sets and still a hint of yellow.

55w will have a tendency to wash out the color.

Not worth running HID in highbeams, because it takes time for the HID to warm up.

I have read that before but I have not heard of any serious issues from them. On my Maxima and Nissan forums, I have heard many great reviews about them lately. I am switching from VVME.. I used to order my HIDs from their eBay store but the last 4 sets I have bought have been pretty bad.. Even my hidextra.com kits were better.

Installed my 3000k HIDs in the fogs from DDM and I dont know if Im impressed or not.. At night the contrast is pretty awesome but when you look at them from the outside, they look kind of washed out.. Im waiting until it rains or I get some fog to see if they are really as good as Ive been told.. Otherwise Im going with 5000k.
