hi all just wondering if anyone knows how to remove the outer clear coat off my wheel as they are seriously flakey please help.....
you're going to have to find a wheel refinisher that has a CNC lathe or knows how to complete the "Diamond Cut" process to refinish the wheel. I found a few CNC guys on this side of the work, but i've not had a chance to try them out. The problem is with the way that work wheels are put together. they can't be broken down, so if you've got a lot of lip, you can't refinish the whole wheel... i think the guy said abou half an inch from the lip, the bit wont be able to reach.
they have atwo inch lip they are only 9x18 but im putting 215/40r18 bridgstones on them . is ther a way i can do them my self as i just need the laquer off them so i can re do them.
on the face? just start sanding it down since its just the clearcoat that oxidizes.
i'd use aircraft stripper.

that's not really something your average DIY'er can do though, lol.
use paint stripper to strip the clear coat...and then once its all done just use buffer and some scratch removal/wax thingy to buff it out...i will be doing this to my lorinsers very soon as i have maen chipping on all centre caps
