that thread is kinda crap because you don't mention the brand or if you used all 4 springs or just front springs all the way around or rear springs all the way around. Some detail would be nice. I am starting to think this does not even work and you are using something else. Gimme proof. Pics of the springs and brand or BAN!!!!!!

I had forgotten i posted this info on this page. i posted on NICO that i used the Tanabe DF210d springs which is rated a 2.5 inch drop. the ride is as expected with aftermarket springs. a little bouncy but not bad at all. the ride quality is actually pretty good for how far it is dropped. I would suggest using RSR race springs but these ones work great. IMO. my buddy will be dropping his Q on tein springs for an S14 they had lying around at their shop. so ill post pics of that when it is completed.

does anyone know what the stock spring rates are for the q and what the df210 spring rates are? this has got to be hell on the struts and based on how much they cost I'm not sure I'd jump on this and I've got a set of df210s lying around my garage. Although the car looks great the damage to the struts makes me think twice.
This spring combo is pretty good actually. The S14 is 7k 5k the Y33 is 7k 7k so if anything the valving on the rear isn't gonna be great but that's pretty damn close considering shocks don't necessarily need revalving to compensate spring rate till about 2-3k in change. (This info is based on only certain companys such as JIC magic) The car ride's bad ass, i've riden in it. So good luck finding an affordable and TIMELY lowering job on YOUR Y33's

so does this mean Tein SS coilovers for s14 can also be used for the y33 ? since the SS has adjustable damper, it can make up for it's weight difference no ?
nope won't work. the y33 has an integrated spindle for the front struts and the s14 does not. also the overall height of the s14 strut is going to be off when compared to the the y33. apparently springs will be our only option.

Qty:well the specs for the DF210 springs are 2.5" drop with 2.7kg/2.7kg spring rate and the specs for the RSR race springs are 1.4 drop front and 1.0 rear with a 5kg/4.2kg spring rate. the tein specs are 1.3"drop front and 0.9" drop rear with 3.8/3.5kg spring rate.
