Trying to replace windshield moulding on Y33 Help Please...

I'm going to get the front windshield replaced but it has been replaced previously and the moulding was glued on.   I want to order new mouldings, seals or whatever that is necessary.   I have included a pic of my windshield currently but when I go on [url]www.infinitipartsusa.com[/url] and look for replacement parts none of it looks like the moulding I have.   Anyone have any knowledge on this?

looks like 8, 9, 10 and (2) 11s.

OG that's the thing... if you look at my pics... It doesn't look the same.   On my car that chrome trim and rubber is all 1 piece... in the parts diagram it's broken into pieces with connecting tabs.  WTF?   Did they someone messed up and put in the G50 windshield maybe?

i wouldn't go by what's on there if its been previously replaced. there's no telling who put what on there, but if it was a typical glass place they probably used some type of universal molding. actually, if you can afford it, i would order all parts of the diagram and return what you didn't need.

I would love to do that BUT everything on there will cost me over $300 and then I have to pay for the glass and labor.  $500+ for just front windshield!!!

The diagram on the infiniti parts website is close but a lil generic.
 
Most glass places usually order all the parts necessary for the job in some cases they gotta order the mouldings etc.. 500 for the glass isnt to bad, seeing that dealer windshield cost is almost 800 lol 
 
I work at a company that publishes the collision estimating guide for all the new / model cars that collision shops use and it supplies all the dealer partnumbers and acurate diagrams of the whole car..
 
Grabbed the 2001 release from our library and it gives u the dealer model specific part numbers for the job if its not on the website u could call the dealer in AZ and giv em the part #- The mouldings are one- piece like ur y33

I just got off the phone with [url]www.infinitipartsusa.com[/url].  They say the moulding is 2 pieces..left and right.  WTF!!!!   He says in his diagram it looks like the left and right overlap in the middle..WTF?    I told him I'm looking at a insurance book on the parts and the part numbers don't match with the above.  

This is what he gave me...   I'm not sure which side is which on the mouldings

Checked it out for a lil further breakdown..

97-01 share same glass & insulator but the moldings are different after 99 they go two piece

the part number below and in previous post was for a one piece cuz u said yours looked to be one piece.. turns out the one piece is for the 99

awesome... I'm going to get the 97-98 one piece... the 2 piece is just too expensive.  It's either $75 for the 1-piece versus $237 2-piece and Joint

This thread came in time because I was just thinking about replacing mine yesterday.

You will notice the glass is actually different part numbers too.  thru 9/99 and then from 10/99   Not sure what changed.

I ordered everything I needed...   The windshield I'm going to get professionally replaced but going to use a Korean brand FY or whatever.

My guess would be the newer one would be thicker to help with sound deadening but if your not ordering the glass from the factory, it will most likely be the same thing.  When my factory glass got cracked and they replaced it with an aftermarket brand, there was a huge difference in deadening in the car.  You could hear the road more.

my brother's FY glass is crap compared to the stock subaru glass haha
