My name is OJAY and here's my UCF10 build thread!

what is up VSC. im here to introduce myself. my name is Ojay from Carson, CA, and here is my 1991 LS400 UCF10. any comments, questions, good or bad, i appreicate the insight!  here we go:

^^ now that my exterior was set up for paint and bodywork... thought id get down with the interior. 

( i have an explanation for this. im gonna just show you what i had planned for the interior, but decided not to go this route in the end.)

ok so since i scrapped the whole idea of the LV checkered fabric i left that alone for now. 

here's the thing though. my car was down and out this whole time at ross's shop from february till now. so while it was just chillen on his parking lot i decided to save up for some high end rollers. i sold ryan's brabus's and put that money toward some 20' work wheels....

i ordered these mamma jammas at the end of february this year.... didnt receive them till middle of may. not bad. since my car was missing the whole time, it was more of a "out of sight, out of mind" type of deal for my lexus.

^^ a couple months later i visited ross so i can test fit my rims. we already had the fenders rolled and pulled... so with all the time i spent researching on offsets, disc measurements, and so forth... here's a glimpse of what i came up with.

Love the Insurance kit! 20's are usually way too big on the UCF10 but I think I will have to see the finished product to decide.

another couple months roll by.... and now its november in these next pics! basically, i pulled my car outta ross's shop because he had so much work on his hands to finish my car in the time frame i requested. no hard feelings, he's still the homie... so i brought it back home and decided to take a few shots of the car again with the rims on....

I was a bit bummed when I saw you got rid of the brabus III, but I'm liking those works a lot. Can't wait to see how this comes together.

i just had the car dropped off at the body shop this past monday. i told them to take their sweet sweet time with it. and in that case they said itll be ready 2nd week of january

hey whats up! yea man i been eyeing those concept gear spokes for some  time and i finally was able to get them in. from what they told me at  work wheels (AKH trading), apparently they said there's only a set or 2  of these wheels floating around the states, which is a cool thing i  guess. but yea man thanks for the love i appreciate it.

yea the monoblocks were sick wheels but  i was mainly concerned about the width of the wheels. i wanted wider wheels basically. the chrome grew on me and they look sick when kept clean

my diana kit is pretty flimsy, and not the greatest of quality either.............

its the insurance high grade kit and the fitment was pretty easy. i bought it used so most likely whoever used it before me modified it to fit more snug. fits almost like a glove. and the kit feels pretty durable. the rear bumper on the other hand feels just a tad flimsy just because its big and hangs pretty low (thats what she said, i know. LOL) i gotta check out your es300 too. thanks for the comments

I love seeing UCF10's being modified and treated the way they should be. Not rattlecanned, stripped, and beat up as track cars. Or donked on 22's. Keep up the good work! I can't wait to see it finished.

I don't know what to think about the VS-GS when they first come out. I guess those are one of the wheels that grow on you. Now that I have seen one with all one color, I am loving the wheels.
Can' t wait until the whole car fully painted. What color are you going with?

hey thanks for all the love guys i appreciate it! as for the paint color.... stay tuned for the pics ima post up the 2nd week of january. itll be fully done up and painted... every single ding, dent, crease, imperfection on the body has been fixed. oh yea, i also forgot to mention i had them shave out the amber signal lights on the front bumper, and also fill in the rear bumper so the exhaust exits are just a bit narrower. new OEM lexus moldings all around, and so forth. as for the exhaust... man its hard to find something good but if all else fails i might just resort to APEXi world sport II universal exhausts and call it the day. any suggestions on mufflers tho? but something that wont break the bank! you dont wanna know how much i already dropped on this project sheesh. thanks again guys

what is up vsc crew. i just checked up on my ls400's progress at auto explosion in gardena, ca and took a handful of shots to show you whats goin down. also, esteban (the main guy of A.E.) told me that the insurance door caps leave a gap right above the OEM chrome moldings and recommended i get them filled in. that way it will look much cleaner and factory looking. i said okay. i didnt even ask how much it'll cost to do that haha! oh well, im getting what i pay for. thanks for looking guys.

^^ also, the rear bumper muffler exits has been filled back in. the previous owner had them cut out to fit bigger exhausts. i just wanted it to look normal again.

haha...sick!  glad the kit found a good home...

Go custom on the exhaust. Don't cheap out and get something that doesn't flow with the car. That means, you need some loud, big, blast pipes. Find a diesel truck shop, and have them do it for you.

Looks awesome, love the color and wheels.

Definately not my style, but props for all the work and clean execution. Those wheels are badass, though. And, this build went really quickly it seems, so props for getting shit done, too.

yea thanks for all the comments guys good or bad. i appreciate it. the reason why i added the wing is because i kept looking at the rear of my car without one. the insurance kit looks so bulky  and in my opinion, naked. i had to balance it off with something so i chose to get an admiration wing. and from what dennis told me, "VIP UCF", this kit may be the only one in the states? idk. as far as tint goes im debating on what color to go with, but yea definitely its gonna be a colored tint. exhaust, im still up in the air for all options available. interior is going in next week or week after, and then all the typical VIP accesories (tables, fusa, yada yada). but thanks for looking guys. ill be seeing you all at local shows and meets now

plans??? hmmmm stay tuned. =P but in a nutshell... chrome plated everything under the hood with the engine bay sprayed to match the outside, accuair, the whole 9 for the interior for vip goods like tables, curtains, new floor mats, and then full audio redone... possible custom audio trunk setup but thats still a ways from now.

just a quick question on the dimensions of your wheels dude, 20x10.5 +15f and 20x11.5 +10 rear yeah?

In your opinion would a set of 20x11 +20mm fit without needing so much pull front AND rear?

nah man.... for the same specs i ran.... i pulled those fenders and rolled them as much as possible with a proper fender roller to barely fit these rims. you may wanna consider something a lil bit conservative if you're gonna keep your fenders near stock... or maybe with a mild pull.

and if I considered rolling them as hard as yours? ;)

oh then yea definitely they'll work haha. dont forget air suspension too! thats a must. =) thanks again for the love guys

still debating on what else to do.... of course your typical curtains, front and rear tables (jag oem) and what not... another thing i wanna accomplish is dress up the engine and color match the engine bay. im thinking of full chrome evertything thats metal in the engine bay... who knows i might even look into "killer glass" stuff too. audio too... but a bit more in the future. i also wanna slam the front more with a youzzealand kit and accuair. i feel pretty lame on manual switches when rolling with my buddies lol. other stuff too... but idk... those are TBA.

@OG: my friend said that to me too..... about shaving off the front end part to make it cleaner but i said no. basically i didnt wanna take away what the insurance group kit was originally made to look like.
@garage7rp: to be honest the exhaust i have on currently was only a temporary choice at the moment. i wanna run custom exhausts but too bad im running out of funds. 

im currently saving up to go back to school so im putting my ls400 on the back burner for any new mods at the moment... maybe only small things here and there.

well for starters my front bumper was recently messed up from running over roadkill on the way home from a car meet. so i had my car dropped off back to auto explosion the following week to get repaired. but i was also thinking this is the perfect opportunity to customize the front bumper a bit more. so what i requested if of course make the front bumper back to brand new condition, and also cut it in half horizontally to add 1 more inch to it, making it sit lower.
