Smell of rubber during start up?

Hello, every time I go out to my car and start it up the car starts up fine. Well the other day getting ready to go to school I started my car to warm it up and noticed getting out of the driver side door I could smell what seemed to be burning rubber. I am guessing it may be one of my belts but it kind of worries me and was wondering if anyone has had any problems like this?

What kind of car, mileage, >  this info would better help your post.

Sorry about that its a 2000 Infiniti Q45 stock. Around 102k miles

Check your oil level. Since you're at 100k, have you replaced your water pump and timing belt? 
What's the condition of your serpentine belt?

it happened to me last week, it was the serpentine belt, but i drive a totally different car lol.

Thanks for the replies. I haven't replaced water pump or timing belt. I will replace them I guess. Also the Serpentine belt do you think it is rubbing on another belt? Or just time for replacing? Oil change was done right when I got the car.

Any form of a burning smell can either be caused by friction or an actual heating issue. You can examine your motor to see the cause. Since you changed your oil recently and it's the correct level, you know it's not caused by engine friction. Glance and inspect both your serpentine belt and timing belt. Check for cracks. Next move on to your cooling system. Check your radiator for water and the coolant overflow bottle level. Have you checked your ignition system (plugs, wires, etc)?

I am going to check some things out tomorrow. I will let you guys know what I find :D Or dont find which I hope is not the problem

his year Q had a timing chain...not a timing belt.

check by the headers and make sure nothing is resting on them, like a loose vacuum hose of some sort...

I would check all the drive belts and the pullies. One of the bearings in the pulley could be seized.
