The wheel in this engraved face is limited to only 12 sets.  The center caps will be individually numbered.  By the time they grow on some people, they will be gone.  The non engraved version will be more appealing to most people.  But those who like this engraved version dont just like it, they love it and are willing to pay retail for it (when the brand officially debuts).


In order to qualify as a luxury brand, you have to lead, not follow.  You have to create something unique or a unique concept that can't be compared.  Quality has to be top notch.  The products have to create a cult like following and most importantly, they CAN NOT appeal to everyone.  If everyone has them or likes them, people won't want them the way they do.  I don't mind at all if some people don't like this particular engraving but I would at least hold final judgement until you see it executed properly on a car with the door open, displaying the matching diamond stitch interior.

Mostly everyone that does the diamond stitch does single...I prefer the double stitch myself...

I've been preaching this for awhile...everyone is scared to do different...although different can get wack (ie the honda stickerbomb/rust/plaid engine bays) I don't see any hipster stuff going on in this build...

I'm tearing up 300 tails, painting 1k grilles....gotta be a little different, esp in the 2gs crowd.

 i have to agree very few rims havent been copied and thats make the wheel game harder on any build!

SC3 and the LA wheel don't even have the same number of spokes.  Maybe similar in style (a flared spoke dish wheel) but far, FAR from a copy.  Not to mention I have never EVER seen diamond engraving on the face of a wheel.   

The 'stop the copy... that's a copy of _____... ect...' shit has gotten WAY old and overblown on VSC.  I've noticed that a large portion of the people that propagate it either A) drive a shitbox, B) don't do/haven't done shit to their car in forever, or C) crusade zealously against 'the copy' as a way of being part of the VIP scene without actually having to produce anything.  It's old.

The suspense is killing me.  Wheels should be here this week.  The front is more aggressive than his old set and that alone should make a nice visual impact over the old look.  Since they want to make sure he can roll that low, they want to wait for the wheels to come in before they get to work on the bumpers which may require very slight flaring.

Why would you consider this a step UP from your old wheels? Other then the fact that these are 3 piece compared to the 2 piece weld that Work offers, what quality features do the new wheels offer that Work does not? Cuz I'm sure the new wheels are close to twice the price of a set of Schwerts or Varianzas.

All I said is that they are definitely a step up.... forged, 3 piece, they are new (as in my sc3's were now 2 years old), limited edition (I'm the first one with a set of Luxury Abstract period).  I can go on more if you like.  Regardless if the are Dub, Vossen, d2forged, SSR, whatever the fuck company you can think of, they are hot.  Forget about brandings, because I sure as hell don't care.

Fo sho...

I was able to get a nice deal on 225/35 and 235/35 Nankangs so I went with them.  Combined with a good alignment (finally) by using the auto-leveling unit, they should last long enough.  The liberty "Leche" ran them for a good 2 years dailying the car so hopefully I can even get half that and I'll be happy.

Almost bought Achilles, but I know I can always get Nankang locally for a reasonable price.

I cant justify 8-9 hundred dollar tires if I will burn thru them in 6 months.

Are you going with the Same width as before in front?

Yeah but the offset will be about 30 lower.  He needed spacers before, now he will need a slight pull with no spacers

Yes, same widths, different offsets.  I was "comfortable" with the way the stretch was with that width, also the tire sizing is much easier to get locally for me if needed.

I am hella late on the updates.. but i was wondering how this new style wheel was going to turn out.. but when i saw it with the lip on it.. i love it, it is hella unique! and not that unique whips stuff that is copy catted onto every ones car haha. in for the progress!!!

Thanks.  They arrived today at the body shop according to the owner but he had to leave early.  They will be on the car tomorrow.

Keep in mind you won't be able to see the engraving unless you are actually knelling down looking at the wheel.  Most will never even see the engraving or the ghost chrome paint on the windows unless they are tying their shoes.

Everytime I think of the diamond stich on wheels to match the interior it reminds me of the Asanti Alligators. But these were more prominent on the depth of the cuts into the face, so the design hella popped.

On a side note though, I really love what your doing with the kit. A few years back Van(onetongarage) was pushing me to use an ls430 front bumper and ls460 rear bumper on the q.

Does your bodyshop add metal to make everyone's quarter panels sit lower? Looks like a lot of cars coming out of that shop are tucking half rim in the back (exaggerating)... creating a smaller radius?

in for more.  from that angle the faces look real small in the barrels..probably an optical illusion, those are a 18" face?

Step lips make wheels look smaller.  Yes, its a 18".  Also, the bolts go around the entire face so that also plays a role.

Modded to roll low is the way to be... our cars dont get the standard roll and pull.  Reverse radius would be funny though.  I imagine cadillac with the removable fender cover things

No lol.  They are just really that low so they tuck a lot lower.  usually, the inner fender would be in the way or the side bumper tabs, they addressed both so it can sit this way.

When parked next to another car that sits flush on the fender, you can get an idea of how much lower this car and similar cars that tuck like this, really are.

I'm diggin these wheels when you can't see the face detail. Very my style. Not the best fit (style wise) on this car for me, but i tend to prefer the more sporty looking wheels on 2gs. keep it coming.

Word, so the rear of the car is 3-4" lower than the front? Just an odd look to me, that's all. I remember seeing you wrote that some other Liberty cars had "radiused fenders"... and it looks most of the cars that come out of the shop end up with smaller fender radiuses (in the rear) and stock in the front.

They are done.  Brushed face, Ghost chrome windows, clear over the entire face.  Blame the low lighting in the shop and camera phone pics.

Once again, the diamond cut pattern is limited.  The standard ones will not have that.

Jermaine is the only one radiused.  You have to remember that the stock quarter panels on every car hang much lower since the rear wheels do not turn.  Its just more exaggerated when you are tucking and the car is sitting somewhat level.  If the car has a rake effect, the fenders will be equal but then the side skirts will go up higher in the rear

Notice the body line on the fender and quarter panel are perfectly level but the rear fender hangs lower than the front fender arch

That's not true though, It's an illusion on the GS created by the box lines on the fenders.

I think the main reason why it looks odd is because your shop is deleting the rear fender drop, and by doing so, the quarter panels lose details and just looks like a large blank panel.

it is generally true for the front arch to be ~1" higher. in fact, i'm near positive i've made the measurment on a 2gs when setting ride heights. the pic in discussion is not a good reference.

I think I know what youre talking about.  Agi is talking about the top 1/4 line, you're talking about the subtle lower one the GS has from factory.  That does give it an illusion that the rear quarter sits lower.

came out pretty awesome. i still think the rear bumper is a LITTLE bloated, but over all, very nice execution and looks dope sitting on the ground. it really does look like a 5 series from behind cus of the tail lights too! front bumper is the steez too

Yeah, just been keeping quiet, bought a place so most. Of my time and money getting dumped in to that.  As for the orange markers, I like them tbh.  Same thing people ask me abt why I didn't clear. Out the headlights when the retrofit was done.
