What's up VSC. I'm new to the site and the scene. I've seen some really nice rides on this site. I plan on building up mine so I can be considered as one of them. I'm down in Miami, FL . VIP style isn't to big out here, at least not yet. I'll try my best to represent for the 305. So here's my M35 build thread. Comments are definitely welcomed.

Did a test fit today and I'm extremely satisfied with the results. I threw in some teaser pics too.

for real, your gonna get some negative feedback (bc of the 22's) until they see more pix.
on a side note: I miss Miami, all of South Florida actually, if gas prices ever go back down to a reasonable price i'ma have to take a trip back to da 305.

Yea, I was told that I might get some negative feedback so I better have some thick skin. Right now the vision I have for my M is slowly becoming a reality. That's why I'll be sure to document the process. I haven't posted up all the pics yet because I want to make sure, that I'm on the right track. So right now doing some test fits to gage things. As of now, I'm sticking to a staggered fittment going with a 3 piece wheel. It's a 22x10.5 in the rear. When I told a couple of rim shops what I wanted to do, they said it couldnt be done. This was coming from the same shops that say that VIP style cars look stupid with the broke suspension look. All I have to say for now is watch an stay tuned.......

i would think EAST COAST could doe anything, i mean if they can lift they can drop. i remember seeing a malibu newest body style on 24's when they were new. and i was like "damn they already lifting these" so i know they should have no problem with some drop, poke, and roll. g'luck. hopefully it turns out to be one impressive ride.

So far the 22's are "plug n play". The M has a big enough wheel space to fit the 2's. Now it's all about offset and when it comes to that, this site has alot of knowledge. As you may already know, when dealing with 3 piece wheels, the offsets are not stamped on the back space. I'm currently between a 38 to 42 et for the rears. I'll be taking them to get nitrogen filled (gives you a much smoother ride) and I'll have them measured to get exact offset. I'm looking to drop the front 1.5" and rears 1". I'd like to go coilover or lowering springs. Not sure yet. Open for suggestions.

coilovers vs bags is a pretty heated argument! i suggest researching around the forums DO NOT post a bags vs coils thread that shyt has been done too many times!! in my opinion my bags ride better than stock at the right pressure! and i nothing can compare to laying frame at will but trying to ride too low can become uncomfortable! with coils you can set your ride height at a nice static position and if you buy the good shyt with extra settings you can adjust dampening to something near stock ride! post better pics for the homies! i think your tires might be a bit too meaty but your on 2's so what the fuck do i know! hope that helps!
bags>coils IMHO!

If you want to drive low then get coilovers with a cup kit. *might increase backpain*
If you want to sometimes drive slammed, and other times drive low'ish, and you want to preserve ride quality get bags over coils.
I myself chose the latter:biggthumpup:
-------------
If you want to drive absolutely slammed with coils+cups, then you'd need to get stiff springs which might in return make your back ache. This of course is only relevant if you daily your car on bad roads... hence the reason for me going with air.

Based on this pic, what needs to be done? Example: pull or roll quarters? More camber? Thinner tire?

Well lower it more, couple degrees more neg. camber, thinner tires(-20/30mm) and shave the fender.... Should do:shrug:

if your going to be on coilovers you can either stretch the tire more too clear or you can get more negative camber. if on bags you'll tuck at full dump like that right now but i like the more stretched look in my opinion i dont think you need to camber it alot.

Yea, I like the stretched tire look too. Plus, I really don't want to be replacing tires every 6 months. With too much camber I might have that issue

I was just referring to my personal experience, the coilovers that came with my Aristo from Japan had 20+kg springs. Car was stiff as fuck and drove awesome especially at high speeds, but my lower back didn't like it so I got bags =)

Welcome to the site.
You should have to "adjust" for any negative camber. Your rears dont look close at all to the fenders. Besides the car will natually camber in the rear when you lower it more.
I was running -3.5 degress at my ride height and I never adjusted for more negative camber and my wheels were way closer to the fender.
I personally think 22s look pretty good on Ms just not what I'd go with if I was trying to go the VIP route. You're definitely not going to be able to ride as low (well unless u do some type of body work front and rear), and you definitely are limited by tire sizes, and running stretched tires would be a little sketchy. But that's just my 2 cents. Looking forward to seeing the build. A friend of mine had a M45 on 22s. Very clean.

I appreciate your 2 cents Smitty. Your M is on of the best looking M's out there. I definitely like the set up and the modifications you did to your quarters. Since I'm new to the scene, I'm gathering my info from this forum (which has been extremely helpful). If there's one thing that I've learned from the VIP style lifestyle, is the uniqueness that all of you bring. You may all have the same platforms but all of your styles are unique. That's why I decided to outfit my M with the 22's. There's no way that I'm going to ruin the rep of the M by making it look like a 4x4 or what the 305 is known for a "donk". When I'm done with my M, she'll have class and most of all VIP style.

Ok, so I decided to lower my M with springs. I chose Eibachs. TheT gave me a 1.6" drop in the front and a 1" drop in the rear.

Wow. Looks pretty good homie. Very clean look. 22s def arent the norm but I think you pulled it off well.
Would be great if you could go a tad bit lower all around. I'm sure the springs may settle a little for you as you drive around.
Here's a pic of my friend's M45 on 22s. We put his on coils. May be something you may consider in the future. Your M and his M would look dope rollin down the street together. Keep up the good work homie.

Thanks Smitty. I appreciate it. Your boy's M looks tight. Where's he at? I'm definitely going to take your advice and lower her some more.

Man, I haven't done much to it lately. I was actually thinking of possibly getting a LS460 L. What keeping me from doing that it won't fit in my garage. And theres mo way that I'm keeping my whips outside. How about you son?
