Pillow Ball Mounts?!

I've been searching and I don't really know what they're for? I'm planning on getting Megan EZ Streets, but they're 800 for the pillow mounts and 650 without. So my main question is should i get them with pillow mounts or no?

its probably the upper part that connects to the car body.

I've tried google but they put it in mechanical terms. That shit confuses me sometimes ahaha.

i also dont understand what it really does, cambers the coiloves, but what for? some racing thing I guess

for macpherson struts it allows for more adjustment than the factory or even aftermarket camber bolts allow. on some applications with aftermarket camber bolts you can get up to and beyond 9* of camber.

pillowball mounts are spherical bearings which provide more responsive handling in comparison to rubber bushings. the downside is that they do not absorb any energy. this can result in a harsher ride and increased noise/vibrations. your call, personally i prefer metal to rubber.

So pillowball mounts are the way to go since it's more flexible in ways such as camber adjustments. And since its metal it'll be safer to run than rubber as rubber will wear out?

not all pillowballs offer camber adjustment, however all camber plates (afaik) use pillowballs. camber adjustment will depend more on the suspension design. what car do you own?
 
pillowballs, as well as rubber bushings, also wear. rubber deteriorates, pillowballs wear down due to dirt becoming lodged in the bearing and eventually becoming loose.

thanks for the correction mike. i use the two interchangeably when referring to camber plates, which is incorrect. what i said refers to camber plates, not pillowballs specifically. though as far as i know most of the more "budget oriented" (read: ksport, megan, stance etc etc) pillowballs are camber plates. i could be incorrect however, it would be best for you to contact the manufacturer/US dist. directly and inquire.

i'm 99% sure that the 2gs app will not have camber plates either way. the 1% is because i haven't ever seen 2gs megans.

100% no camber adjustments. I would get it with the mounts because the springs fit perfect in place and won't grind the springs on the sleeve

hrmm I see... I'm thinking about the Megan LP's now since they're not that much more and they have a stiffer spring rate.

If you are going to be ridding really low...your probably gonna want the LP's. I like mine a lot.

if you're lookin at lp i would consider bc. they're in the same range and the bc are considerably better imo.

I´ve been looking into some pictures and thought that you need that adjustable pillow ball mount when you have an adjustable upper control arm and you are going to have a big camber in the front, so that the knuckle wouldn´t touch the coilover.
