Lolol the coilover was a joke. But yes that is a spinal cord, like it was a animal or a face hugger or what ever your imagination says it is

I like the concept. Would the tank still be strong enough to hold air? Wouldn't it stretch the metal too thin?

I am confused. That is a gas tank for a bike. If i were to do a air tank i would get a air tank and then modify it. But no where would i mess with the structure.

I know it's for a bike, I mean for the air tank. Would the pressure inside the air tank put alot of stress on the section you pressed on?

Okay, I'll try it again. When you press down on the metal to make the shape, doesn't that pull and stretch the metal in that little section? Making it thinner. Would that stretched section still be strong enough to hold in all that pressure? What I was worried about was it would create a small hole and air would leak out. If it's doable (lol doable) I might have someone make me a tank.

i have a feeling this is added material, not reshaped metal.

Ahhhh I see. I remember in high school when I did metal pressing on small projects, it would sometimes rip the metal. I thought they pressed the tank.

If it was added material then I would consider this for my tank.

it is, way way to much work to punch the metal and form this.
we are thinking about taking a air tank and integrating a skull and rib cage on it

you could... run a fuel cell and remove the tank altogether. too bad the majority of the vehicles on this forum necessitate at least a 15-20 gallon tank for a 350ish mileage range!

Which is why I love the f50 the gas tank is in the trunk. You could move it to the spare tire well but you would lose a spare wheel what ever that is.

been on my to do list. older models with the gas tank in the trunk already will gain a lot of trunk space and gas doors are kind of ugly.
