Where's the "Mediocre Lexus Large Sedan 90-00" category? I'd have a shot at winning that. =)

I would assume that there will be impartial judging. If your car speaks for itself, then it will win in it's category...
Really tho, who really gives a shit about a trophy in this Style??? I personally got a room full of trophies that I don't give a shit about.

I was just just joking no need to get all serious......I think I lot of us here have awards collecting dust
But I think its fair to those who will be attending (not me...its too far) should know that they are getting a fair shake and not going to a liberty held show and watch liberty take most of the awards
Get upset if u may I'm just saying what I know some people are thinking ......and here's hoping u guys have a successful event

lol I didn't mean it like that, I just mean with the location of the show (nothing you can do), that it'll be mostly liberty so as a result, mostly liberty cars will be taking home trophies not to mention how most of liberty are built well also

I'm not upset in the least homies. I just felt that I had to respond in that tone because the comments could have been misunderstood.
For the record, it's not a "Liberty held show" - it's a vip themed show that just so happen that a Liberty Member (without a car :smiley-rofl:) is the organizer and promoter. He's trying to bring variety to the everyday car show events held in this part of the country. I'm attending to see and maybe get to put a face to the cars. I'm hoping that people would show initiative and roll out to this event. I know it will be worth the trip.
@DirtyATL... Homie make the trip... it's not that far... Bring some ATL females with you...

Its my show, funded by me. I am apart of Liberty and without their help as well as cars, there is no show. There for its a "Liberty" show. Money is clearly not the motive. Running an event like this in such a niche scene is going to end up being a loss for probably another year or two. Its more of a pride thing. We are doing it cause we love the scene and this is one way to help it progress to the Hawaii and SoCal levels that we will strive to reach. Giving people something to plan for in terms of modding their cars to the next level is a good thing. Lots of spectators come up to us at the shows we do, telling us they are planning to go hard for this event and its the only show they plan to do all year with their car. That feels great hearing that.
As far as trophies go, it will be as unbiassed as we can do it. Best team will not go to Liberty. Liberty members will only judge categories that we don't have members in (like domestics, vans/boxes, etc.). Judging will be done by a neutral party. No white gloves or anything too crazy.
Out of the 200 best vip trophies you all have in your closets, how many mean anything? Most of the time you are beating out 2-3 cars to get that. If trophies are your motive, beating out some nice competition will definitely feel better than winning something by default.
Lots of people travel great distances to shows that are pretty much the same as the ones they go to locally. This one will have a majority of the cars that you are all into. Make the trip car or no car.

To keep it 100....if gas would not kill me and I didn't have other " more important life matters " going on I would like to attend this event WITH my car.....not for trophies n such, but just to see some of these cars I always see online in person and more importantly meet the people behind them, trophies are cool n all but really don't matter to me anymore....for me its more about bonding with cats who have similar interest as myself a trophy would just be a bonus, I'm not completely ruling out this show because thing may happen that may allow me to show up ...but if not I'm still hoping u guys have a great event so it can grow for the future
BTW have u ever thought about moving the event further south in the future (say Virginia or something ) so cats like me from the south can have a more bearable drive to make......it would be like meeting half way or something ......east coast cats can drive from up north and us dirty south cats could drive up....just a suggestion

Example: "We shut down that show, cats went crazy when we rolled in, they had never seen VIP the way we bring it....True story bro."
Shutting down as in owning the event due to the caliber of cars they brought compared to the less attractive cars brought by others, ultimately ending up with them stealing the spot light at the show. :yahoo_26:
Side note: Hey Widebody_q If you need any help with the show let me know.

We were joking around cause the titles of the threads found here.
Only true VIP show in the states I know of is Black. Even if its at a loss again this year, I picture it as possibly the US Version of Kbreak in the future. GL with the show guys.

moving the show further south may not be such a bad idea in the future - we are going to make efforts to hit shows below va next year so we can shut shit down in the south

DirtyATL, like JDOX said, most people out here never seen a vip car before so when we roll in deep, it makes a lasting impression. Having the cars and crew that was the talk of the show is what its all about. You can shut down parking lots, etc. Its not to be taken too seriously
Thanks Speedaddict. Thats the goal and now we landed a location that will let the show grow that big. Its just a matter of getting it there.
And like mentioned, its all about enjoying the scene and meeting owners from all over the place. It is going to feel like a meet and there are a few trophies that can be won by non show cars

That was done on purpose. 10 years for each category. There are about 30-40 vip styled 2gs' running around. The 00+ Lexus would be weaker if 2GS' were not allowed in there. Once the 3gs' UCF's30 UFC40's catch up in terms of mods and numbers, we will separate them.
Same with Infiniti's. There really are not many modded Y33's that are 2000+ in this region at least. So the few that are can make up for the lack of F50s and Y34's in the 2000+ Infiniti category

I'm looking forward to this show. I know my car isn't up to par but im still going to enter the show as i did last year cause the scene needs more support here on the east coast. I hope in the up coming years this is the show people look forward to attend and make the long drive. I've been to H2Oi and I've seen people make 24+ hour drives which is why i can really appreciate the EURO Scene. I'm just waiting till the VIP scene becomes that way :hsughcool:

Date has been changed to Oct 1st. All terms and conditions have been agreed upon, it is being held at Raceway Park in Englishtown NJ!!!
For those not on the north east, this is where the biggest car shows in the area are. We look to make this the permanent home for the show. If it is to grow to 4 or even 5 digits worth of cars, there would be room
The new date is huge because the old date landed on a major show H2O. Now we are alright that its on Oct 1st. Also gives people 1 more week of prep
be sure to like our facebook fan page for updates and reminders leading up to the show

i'll definitely be there to support the VIP movement & liberty but i hope this show doesn't disappoint like last year. there was a lot of hype about Black last year and and a lot of talk about caravans from everywhere...but ended up being more like a liberty meet.

i'll definitely be there to support the VIP movement & liberty but i hope this show doesn't disappoint like last year. there was a lot of hype about Black last year and and a lot of talk about caravans from everywhere...but ended up being more like a liberty meet.

Considering what was out there last year (25% compared to this year in both numbers and quality), the fact that it was a first year show, hard to find location and another major show the same date, the show was a huge success. It was even covered in magazines including Import Tuner.
It was a first time show with little prep time and was held in an unfamiliar location to most. I still think we did great in terms of quality for what was out there last year. Would we have liked more cars, yes but really what was out there then? We just had to get the first one out of the way and it was important that we did it and not a corporation just looking to water it down too much
This year people know its coming and they are waiting for it. The fact that Raceway Park in Englishtown is letting me have it there means they know the potential and look at the first show as a success in terms of quality. They see the crowds we bring in. They dont allow anyone to have shows there, only Remix, HIN, Waterfest and shows they shows they throw.
At the end of the day, its up to the people to come out and support. We want to see everyone there car or no car and will keep working hard to fill up the lot

i'm not trying to criticize your efforts but in my opinion, it wasn't what i expected. If you read the article, it says "Liberty VIP car club meet" but it was suppose to be the first "all VIP car show." I was expecting more of a show, but it really was more like a Liberty meet. There was 2 parking lots...maybe a dozen cars in the back lot while mainly Liberty cars in the front lot. After a few hours, all the cars were consolidated to the front lot bc not many cars showed up. To me Black was on par with a Liberty bbq, actually you might have had more quality cars at the bbq. I know its more about quality then quantity but if you take away the Liberty cars...you're pretty much left with nothing. If I could compare Black 1 to VIP car show, it would be as if Platinum VIP threw a car show but only their cars show up...then call it a meet.
Again, i'm not trying to start sh*t...just calling it how i saw it. i like what you guys are doing and not knocking you for it. The scene has grown on the east coast and the date & location is already out there, so i'm sure Black 2 will be more successful than the first...

interesting point, and i see it. Just like a lot of the 240 guys that had cars that were on point just happened to be apart of our crew. When anyone saw a fixed 240 in the area, they automatically assumed it was our crews car. And when we held meets there was 15 of us and 8 or more would show up. But, it is to be expected i think when a few cars look great, and adapt more to the crew and make great cars, or people who have a great car want someone to belong to will go to the peeps who have something established already. Especially when its only you, you cant start a one man band, it takes two to make a crew! haha

That's definitely to be expected considering there aren't too many of these cars to begin with. The east coast still has a LOT of catching up to do...and when it does, the show will grow. It can't grow if it doesn't exist.

VIP is very slow to grow here on the East Coast. I give Agi massive credit for trying to put a spotlight on a very small market.
Speaking of market space, maybe tap into the whole "stance" / "Canibeat" crowd to bolster attendance. A true VIP platform show will be very hard to support here on the east, so I think opening it up a little will help.
Agi, let me know if you need help drawing some of the local clubs....SOLO, Emotion, etc..... If things go the way I plan, I may have 3 or 4 of my cars there.....just gotta' get some drivers !!!!! :giggity:

Thanks I really appreciate it as well as the support last year by coming out. Definitely let them know once the flier and site are up.
As for the Stance Scene, Canibeat has their own show which caters to that. If its a "stanced" luxury car (or just modded), then it will be allowed into this show. The show has to stand for something and differentiate its self from what is out there to make it long term. After this show, many will shift their styling towards vip style if they were not already into it. Should be a great opportunity for potential sponsors to tap into a large market.
There was lots that I learned from last year in terms of promotion. Doing a first time show with no car on the flyer was a mistake IMO. Then when the actual flyers came in, the quality looked like it was done at someones home. This year, we are printing thousands of flyers not hundreds and we have a better "street team" to get it out there as well as the support of high end shops that deal with nice modded luxury cars on a regular basis.
Another plus is that we are able to cut our operating costs from last year while keeping the same high standard. This means admission will be $15 lower than last year at $35 a car. That should help.

geography is the enemy. we look at japanese shows but don't realize that every car in japan is contained within an area smaller than california. the double egded sword: people won't travel for a small event, and a small event won't get big unless people come out. support the vision not necesarilly the show. unfortunately i have deadlines that are very close to the date of black 2, but if i'm comfortable i will be flying out for this.
eventually i plan on doing something similar in tx, but it will have to wait until i can afford to lose money.
