Artisan Spirit fender vents

Is it possible to cut the vents of the Artisan fiberglass fenders  and molded them on to stock metal fenders? My tires rub on fenders when I make turns sometimes. I could see the Artisan fiberglass  fenders cracking easily with my current set up.

yeah, you can do that. auto couture sells vents for ls460 that are just the vent -- i'm assuming they want you to cut the stock fender and just fiberglass the new vents together

I'm doing this to my fenders since there are none on the market. You'll be fine just take your time if your doing it yourself and it'll be fine.

i always thought that aftermarket fendors were made wider to clear bigger wheels..

for the amount of work to mold them in i'm sure you could find someone to do all metal one offs.

duno why but i really LOVE these vents here!! this is just WAY to sick to me! does anyone have any better pix of this car?? i would really like to see this

i think custom is the way to go...seeing as to how youre gonna have to spend money on an aftermarket fender then cut into your stock fender anyway.

metal fender mod...unfinished of course.

man i hope steve plans on getting a small vent in the bottom panel. I like the vent but it would have looked nicer if it contoured to the groove of the wheel well

i also wonder if fender vents would look decent on a car with no kit and just a lip as long as its not a extreme looking vent,,,

cubangs's car comes to mind -- he has platinum fender vents but no kit

I think it would look better with a kit.

red gs is bad a**, red gs vent is just plain a**.

bottom panel will have a vent too but its not metal...alot easier...

youre right didnt notice that, i hope it comes out goood though...

more happy to be on metal fenders then frp lol

i think you need a kit to complete the look imo

Are you going to paint the insert part ( metal piece welded on) black or a differ color for some contrast or just all one color?

i personally think a kit would complete the look with the vent but just depends on how extreme the vent is

yeah, chris' vent is legit. for me a well played vent works off the existing lines of the car and doesn't try to make new ones.

the red GS does have a nice vent but i dont think it would work for my car. i have something in mind nothing where i have to have something looking like that. But ill see how it will work out...

agreed 100%  the one I posted was requested by the customer through lots of pics...none of which went with the bodyline.

i actually joined JUST to holler at you about those fenders since breaking my FIGS prototype tie rod i buckled my right front shaved fender (yes i know the arguments about fully shaving your front fenders but i been on them for awhile now)

i see you said these werent your's just that they were on your car.... did they just widen these and cut the vent into them? you know ABOUT what these ran  them?
