'08 M35 S build

Just picked up my 2008 M35 Sport in Moonlight White last week.  The car is a dream so far but it can't be stock for too long.  On the hunt for some proper wheels as we speak and will be picking up some coilovers this week as well.  Outside of that, also looking to pick up a Stillen catback, puddle lights, and some light tint and call it a day for a while.  About time I had a comfortable daily driver after the rash of 600+whp cars i've built and driven over the past couple of years.

Wheel options include Work Euroline SL, Leon Hardiritt Orden, Trafficstar RTS, JP Scara...something in those styles.  Coilovers will either be JIC or Tein Flex.

Thanks!  I love the '08 front end as well but hate the fact that there's no aftermarket support for it. :(  No lips at all!

Just got back from picking the wheels up and decided to throw them on to see how things fit.  The wheels are filthy at the moment from sitting around so they'll need a good shining up as well.  Getting tires on Monday and waiting on suspension to arrive after that.  Should be rolling on the new wheels in a couple weeks.

Thanks!  They're nothing too crazy compared to most wheels on here.  20x9 +30  20x10.5 +29.  Tires are arriving tomorrow...  235/35-20  255/35-20

Thai, hopefully the tires won't be too big, we'll see I guess.  Luckily, they're cheap enough that I can swap them out for a smaller set if need be.

no dice on 35 series tire. Its too tall. you'll need a 255/ [B][I]30[/I][/B] broski. or a 245/35, which is what most ppl would go with.

255 35 20 fit all the way around when i had the 20" Fx rims

Mounted the tires up and threw the wheels on to get idea of things and I THINK we'll be ok once the coilovers get here later this week.  A little camber and lot of lowering should fix things nicely...

with coils these will be an easy fit and a hawt setup.

That would be the set.  We welded the spokes late last week.  That wheel balanced out very well yesterday surprisingly.  Still need to get that face refinished but should have that done within the week.

I am definitely looking...more so to make this one a spare.  It's actually very safe.  We do a lot of in house fabrication at my shop.  You'd be surprised how strong a TIG weld is when penetrated properly.  Wheel repair facilities weld spokes all the time...nothing new honestly. But I am looking...hopefully something comes along.

Got a moment to install the lip spoiler i've had sitting around for a few days.  I think it sets the car off perfectly.  Coilovers are due in the next couple of days!  The car needs the SOOO bad.

It's just a cheap ebay roof spoiler.  Fitment is ok.  It's just temporary though.  Got something else in the works for that.

Dropped the car off at the body shop this afternoon to get the front bumper fixed and the fenders repainted.  Should have it back by the end of the week which should be just in time for my air showing up.

So after a mixup with Air Runner, and me being the "I need it now type of person", the guys at D2 Racing came through in a matter of days.  3 days to be specific...Asia to my door step.  Not too bad.   Should be installed early next week when I get back from my mini vacation.

2010 Porsche Cayenne Turbo tips arrived today.  Got to give AGI credit on this one...second I saw them, I had to have them.

Dope tips.  These are much wider than the Porsche 911 tips by double the size.  Should fill up the back of the car nicely

I sell them at my store...i'm a D2 vendor.  Just got the basic kit for now but have Dakota Digital gauges coming.  Will add Accuair down the line.

Can't wait to get the tips on...maybe tomorrow evening.

No, they went under without pulling them.  BUT, I can drive w/o them rubbing at all w/ the wheels flush now.

My ADD kicked in and I couldn't wait to get the tips installed.  Still going to tweak them a bit next week when I have some more time.  Definitely looks a million times better in my opinion.

So you just basically cut the tips off the Stillen and left the Stillen mufflers as is, right?

Kind of.  I had to move the mufflers out towards the outside of the car to accommodate the offset inlet of the tips.  So I had to fab up some new hangers as well.   That's what I need to tweak next week.

Finally!  I got to touch them!  No homo.  So after all the peer pressure, i've decided to keep the machined lip for the rest of the season and have them chromed this winter.  I absolutely LOVE these wheels.  I didn't want AGI to take them back...

I hoping with a bit of camber I can run them until I get the car up to Dreamakers in the next couple of weeks.  We'll see soon.

What kinda bodywork where you planning on getting, standard DK-work(low and ride-able) or sum' else?

We're going to widen the rear fenders and keep the factory body line.  The goal is to make it as subtle as possible.  I could make the wheels fit with camber but I'm not going that route. :)

Theyre staying that way...at least for the time being.  I should have them Friday.  Can't wait.

Thanks guys.  Chrome/high polish is nice but I think the brushed look will take it to another level.  This will be something different than what most do, but it will still be really classy.

We sent the lips out to be polished a little bit more than shown in the pics, before they make their way onto the car.  We are aiming for a raw industrial look with details such as chrome center caps and bolts to tie it together with the rest of the car.

One thing tho, I changed my mine about the lips... do go chrome dog, I feel like the wheels are robbing the car some presence due to their dullness. Once they lips are chrome they'll blend in more making the car more harmonious... just my .02 cents.

^The lighting in the shop is low.  You need to see them during the day to pass final judgement on the lips.  We had them redone this week and they reflect real nicely.  The car is 1-2 minor supporting mods away from rocking that finish a lot better though.

Thanks a lot guys.  I appreciate the compliments and thoughts.

Did a little work on the quarters and maxed out factory camber (which isn't much at all)...got it to come down a bit in the rear and drivable which was most important.  Off to the body shop very soon.

curious... what [I]is[/I] the most camber you can get outta the rears? who makes rear camber bars for our cars. Heard G37 coupe afm bars work but I cant find a damn thing.

I think i'm going to keep the camber where it's at and get the body work done around that.  I was also looking into some of the suspension components from SPL.

Did a little more work on the quarter panels today since I'm driving the car daily and am in line up at the body shop at the moment. LOL!  Fitment is a good bit better...pulled the bumper so i'd have some more room back there as well.  Also going to space out the fronts a bit shortly.

Finally got motivated and started working on my stereo...it's about time.

Still need to do the fiberglass backs for the sub boxes as well as body work the fiberglass tub the amp sits in.  Once that's done I need to wrap everything and work on plexi and lighting.  The amp (brushed aluminum BTW lol) is going to be back lit so that'll look pretty dope. Should have it ready for IA this weekend....I hope.

Made some progress.  Got really busy at the shop so I had to take a day off from the car.  

Finished making the fiberglass back to the one sub box and glassed in the front fascia board.  Still need to bodywork it and do the other side.  It's all coming together slowly...should be done some time next week.

****ed up one of my fenders on the way to Import Alliance and with 2 big shows coming up I didn't have time to get the car up to Dreamakers.  SOooo, I decided to redo all 4 corners myself.  Body work is done...primer tomorrow and then paint some time before the weekend.  It'll go up for some widening after First Class Fitment.

Car looks amazing! How big are your rims? From what i have noticed, only 20s look nice, but i want to lay frame!

99% done with the stereo...that's how it's staying for a show tomorrow.  Still debating on what color to spray the fiberglass tub the amp sits in.  Was going to color match it to the car but as you can see, white is very close to the color of the upholstery.

What color do you guys think I should go with?

Thanks guys.  Dropped the car off at Dreamakers today for the bodywork.  Doing custom quarter panel and fender work as well as one other thing i'll keep under wraps for now.  :)   Can't wait for Nate to work his magic!
