Chrome Bumper Trim / Moldings on a Y33

*Didn't know if I should post this here or on Exterior Technical Information*

Hey so I just wanted to know if they bumper chrome moldings/trim can be removed off my bumpers?
Is it just double sided tape?
Best way to go about removing it?
or best place to order a new replacements??

$100 shipped and thats for (1) I need (4) its not that serious just so wanted to hear any helpful hints or advice.

I saw this universal trim as well.

I think they are just double sticked on but can't be 100% sure..  however on the ends they go into the bumper.  There are actually slits that the trim slides into.  You should use a heat gun to soften up the adhesive and go from there.   Also to do it right you might want to remove the bumper first but that requires you to take out the tail lights and trunk lining to reach the bolts holding the bumper cover on.

I've gone to pepboys and they sell chrome trims that look like it might fit.   measure the width and go to pepboys and see if there is anything compareable.    Make sure its not the trim type for corners but for mouldings.

I have taken off the door mouldings and those are real metal.   You MUST take the door trims off to reach the tabs.   The hard part is reaching the tabs and unhooking them without bending the metal.   Once bent it won't go back to shape so be careful if you decide to take those off.   To take the front fender moulding off you also will need to take the fender liner off to gain access to the tabs.

I was actually thinking about sending you a pm. Since after following your build thread if anyone would know about details on a Q45 who better to ask than you :biggthumpup:
I just need the front and rear bumper trim. I was pretty sure that Pep Boys or somewhere would offer it for cheap just wanted to see what the general consensus was on how abouts to do so.

I can't speak much on this since my bumper are aftermarket but I think the stock ones are jus held in by clips, if I can remember correctly. Easily removalable
 
The chrome strips you can get from autozone, pepboys, or kragen for under $20 and goes on w/ 3M tape

I got my front and back bumper trim from pep boys also

I got my trim form Hong Kong on Ebay and I got about 8ft of it for $3.00 shipped. It came with teh 3m on back and a clear film on the front to protect it during shipping.  That was for the smaller window trim size to go on my vent visors but yeah. Just make sure you get the correct width. Cheap and easy

Just got my front fixed at a body shop today. I had them replace the chrome trim on mine. They said its just a sticker.
