does color matter?

Does the color of a car really matter? Ive seen lots of vip styled cars on this site, and theyre all different colors. I was just wondering, since my car is really dark green.

dark green is a great vip color imo, but in general, i dont think the color isnt that important, more a matter of personal preference. if you wanted to look at it from a traditional standpoint, then black, white, and silver would be the mainstays, darker colors are more subtle, and seem to lend more class to a vehicle, where brighter colors tend to be more flashy, and ask for attention.

I have no idea if there are specific "rules" when it comes to color, but most luxury cars don't really come in wild colors anyways. I guess that's probably why most VIP cars are whilte, silver, black, or some dark, rich color. I would imagine dark green looks good VIP styled.

IMO, it has more to do with a balance between wheel color, body color, and car itself. For example, if you wanted to do up a SC VIP style, you'd probably wanna stay away from red to tone down the sportiness. Additionally, go for a dish wheel to tone up the luxury factor.

Some people say black only, or black, white, or silver only.
My opinion is not so strict but as long as it is a classy colour, for a Vip car. On the other hand, I like cars with eye catching unique colours like olive metallic, or bubblegum pink gloss (but not together :(), as long as it's on an appropriate vehicle. Yaris, okay in pink. Cima.....better off in a dark colour. Pretty much, the more mature the car, the more mature the colour...it has to suit the car's personality since it is the most noticeable feature of a car.

The JP demo cars are dark green. What you see are not black, but a strange custom hue...

Since I have found this subject, I noticed that most of the VIP cars that I have seen around have been Black, silver, white, blue....

The question is, does my color count as well....and this is just for my own thoughts. I am realitvely new to this whole VIP Style, and since I have loved my Lexus. I really like the VIP Style and have many plans for my car in the future, I am also saving up for my air-runner set up and a new set of rims, but the house has to come first. Please let me know what you all think of it.

This is a good question and one I urge some of the more senior members of this forum to give an opinion. Its one question I've been asking myself as I was a member of this forum long before I chose the color to refinish my Accord, I wanted something different to black, a color that stood out whilst still being a VIP color, selecting the gold from the new BMW 7 series. 
Ive always been told true VIP style cars are black but my interpretation of VIP style, is one of [u]luxury[/u]. You only have to look at the paint colours available when purchasing a new Luxus, to know what is a luxurious color. 
Judging by the varied coloured vehicles posted, I think this question may well have been already answered. 
I hope this can prove once and for all, that to be a true VIP style car, your car just has to look luxury, not always black..

I have to agree with 137 here. A VIP car should be painted a VIP colour... last time I checkd baby blue or canary yellow wasnt VIP. Flashy fabric styles such as burbary or LV style paint job is cool... but isnt really VIP, doesnt mean it can't be. 

There are a lot of Vip styled cars that are not black white or silver, or even a neutral or dark colour. I've seen cinnamon pearl, pink, yellow, red, purple...
Do you guys consider these cars Vip?

ro make it simple- YES, COLOR DOES MATTER- it all depends on how you pull it off- white, gray, silver, and black do the normal jobs necessary... sometimes darker blues, reds, & greens will do well- but like it said... it all depends on how you pull it off :)

Having a "non-traditional" VIP color and trying to make the car VIP is like trying to make any non-VIP car (i.e. a fwd mid-size sedan for example) look VIP style.. it's doable, but you need to go the extra distance to make people overlook the fact that the color is not what they'd consider normal VIP. i.e. the stance and wheel fitment become even more important than if the car was all black, etc...

Anybody know of a stock Toyota/Lexus color (or any manufacturer for that matter) that has a factory metallic black with a hint of green in it? I think it would look wicked and would allow it to blend in somewhat with the factory jade green color hopefully without having to repaint the engine bay, etc. What do you guys think? Post pics if you've got 'em!

I am going to say, that color does matter (And in some cases, it doesnt).
