Y33 on S14 springs

Anyone know exactly how much lower the S14 springs drop the Y33 than the manufactures says they drop the 240sx.

If you know what I mean lol

I can't log into Nico at the moment so I'm asking here....

I saw a picture of that setup once, it was pretty low. That doesn't sound like it would handle well though.

Handling isn't any of my cars fortes lol

It's temp for the coming shitty season, and hopefully it will blow out my struts and force me to buy PBM coils haha.

In that case I say go for it lol. Somebody just joined, check the intro thread. He didn't have a username but he had pics of his y33 on s14 springs.

FYI - This setup is EXTREMELY bouncy

I've noticed both cars are first gen y33 (pre face lift) does that have anything to do with the springs fitting? I should still have control of my sport suspension since the struts will be untouched, right?

lowndslow, hows the ride? Super shitty or half shitty?

I believe that the spring perches are the same on the touring suspension and base suspension.

I already PM'd you back. But I might aswell add in some newer info for anyone else.

My Y33 is on D2 S14 spec lowering springs. The Rears fit like OEM, but the fronts are to narrow for the spring mount on the bottom and about 1/4" to big for the top mount. The D2 are a 1.8" drop on a S14 and dropped my car ALOT, atleast 4".

I cannot say if it does or not, since I never tried it. But it shouldnt give you such a severe drop as mine does.

OEM S14 will drop it further than the 2" based on the weight of the Q. You will get a shitty bounce to the ride as well. Ideally if you could find teh H&R springs that were stiff and only dropped the S14 a little they could be a better match but they are extremely hard to find ever since about 1999.
 
These will definitely blow your stock shocks and struts after awhile if thats what you are looking for. haha.

4dgs, did you ever post pix of the y33 you scooped up? i tried searching your posts but couldnt find anything.

My car is no where near that bouncy. lol that would suck bouncing to a stop
