When I was stationed in Wa and use to drive home to Los Angeles I would avoid the 101 all together, so I suggest to stay with I-5.
but I didn't have a lowered VIP ride at the time haha

well yea i know 101 is the LONGGGG route but im trying to keep my car in 1 pc :P

If you end up taking the 5, I suggest raising your front up a bit.

101 is long but 5 is oh man ! just leave early and take the 101

from what I remember it was the 2 slow lanes that you need to avoid past aliso viejo and closer to san clemente is where the exhaust smashing goes down.

Yeah I remember last years drive up on the 5 passing I think Mission Viejo there was so narly spots but I foget if they were in the slow lane side or the fast lane side?

I rememeber one time I was giving Chrispy updates through FB on where every bad dip there was coming to SD from the 5. I usually say Fuck it after shows and raise the car up a bit on the way home. It jus aint worth it. Matter of fact I got that airrunner event so I'll be dealing w/ that this weekend

One of the best taco shop is just down the street from Autofashions on Mira Mar road Rigobertos aka Dancers.  Only the regulars would know what i'm talking about.  

This meet is always on a Charger home game. So I won't be making it this year again.

just checked into my hotel....damn I heard SD had some rain,  but really?!  shit storm + pitch black + worthless torn window wipers. = too many near death experiences...didn't even have time to worry about dodging potholes even if I could see em...drove through a few blind puddles so was super worried aabout my intake too...and I fucking hate highway 5... 101 was hella Smooth sailing

Huge thanks goes out to the cats from Arizona for helping me when i got stuck 2 wheeling coming out of my hotel's parking lot, coming through with some 2x4s and a push.  front passenger spinning and rear driver at least 2 feet off the ground.

Impressions of the meet...even tho it rained, and even tho i spent hella money on this 800 mile round trip vacation, it was all worth it.  Wish we had this many vip oriented cars up north.  The first vid posted is sick, but i wish it would have more focus on the vip cars rather than the hondas and "fitment" cars, seeing as to how this was vip festival and there were plenty of good examples at hand.  Cars that made an impression on me where the AZ cats, with that gangster ls400 and jin's ls4 with the dope pin stripes (nice demon), blitz with his y33 that came out super clean, the greenish 2gs on fabulous rims...

CubanGS's ride is something that you need to see rolling, in person, to really appreciate...that camber is bananas, but im a fan...camber and tuck and all.

BigSteve's blue LS has always been in my top5 for stateside cars and finally seeing it in person was awesome.

Josh's (Brokey33) car really does it for me..the fitment, the ride height, the LED tails...this thing just screams VIP and seeing it rolling was probably my fav car of the entire event.

Sorry about the honda content in the video. My boy Jake that shot the video is new to shooting car events and really new to the VIP scene so I think he jus tried to get as much as he could of everything instead of focusing on the main reason. Also the rain probably had a lil more to due with it

Drive back to AZ was really good and quick. All in all it was a 1025 mi. journey. Phoenix-Vegas-San Diego-Phoenix. One thing I wont miss are those San Diego roads , NASTY :pat:
