You are right, its about the exclusivity. If they are priced too low, they become too common on undesirable cars which brings down the image as a whole. Junction Produce achieved great success with their marketing stagey and we can only hope to be even partly as successful in ours, which is unique from each other.
These are made in the states. If you take into consideration that a standard chrome frame will cost you over $100-$140 at a dealer, this is not so bad. Keep in mind tilted license plate bases cost over $300 MSRP. People cringe but still pay it since the concept is unique and they desire the look and status associated with having an authentic part from a brand they respect.
These are hand crafted. Each one takes US man hours worth of labor to assemble. We pride ourselves on that. You buy a Louis Vuitton bag because its hand crafted in France rather than made in a third world country. Same concept applies. When you consider that the resellers must make a profit after we make ours, they are priced where we want them. Then you have to factor that they are given away to those who purchased wheels. Just because they get them free does not mean they cost us nothing to make.
The design concept is patent pending so if we see them being reproduced and resold, we will ask that they are taken down.
