USF41 Build Thread (brianlin87)
Quick introduction, picked up an LS460L with the Executive package late last year. Planning on documenting my build here.
December 2010, picked up an LS460L Executive Package and put on the necessities (Datasystems Lowering Module, Navigation Override and iPod jack)
April 2011, After debating between 21s/22s for this car, I finally decided on 22s because of the LWB. After the Tsunami delays passed I finally received my Weds Kranze Bazreias
May 2011, Received Kyo-ei Bisai Limited Edition Crystal Lug Nuts (1 of 50 sets made)
June 2011, Test fitting wheels with FK452 Tires
July 2011, Received Anceltion Fierte Kit from Justin@EliteAutoSalon (Took me a while to find this because Anceltion has been out of business since 2008)

August 2011, Extended the sideskirts for the LWB, and installed a Sessions Japan Roof Spoiler from Bryan@SessionsUSA
September 2011, Had a chance to drop the car off for a quick photoshoot of it in its current state

Yeah I really wanted the dish wheel look. I purchased the lugs from Gruppe-S here in Southern California; however one thing to keep in mind is that these lugs are 14x1.5 because the LS460 is a strange setting with a 5x120 bolt pattern as well.
Here's a link directly from Kyo-Ei:
http://www.kyoei-ind.co.jp/sangyo/product/BISAI.html
If there's anything you want from their products I'm sure Gruppe-S could get it for you.

Yeah, I'm sure I'll eventually change up the wheels for a more aggressive set, but I need to get the suspension details figured out first. Lexus seems to have wanted to eliminate the use of aftermarket arms or something; the complexity of the camber/toe adjustments in the rear alone (10 arms for the rear) is really what's hindering me from taking a much more aggressive approach to this car.
Got quoted on T-Demand Arms for this car for the front and rears, and the price of $10,500 + OEM exchange somewhat blew my mind. lol

Last I spoke with Kennedy he has a "custom camber" set up that he does for my chassis. Not sure I'd want to go that route just yet; however it is an option.

not gonna lie, i thought about it LOL.
RE: T-Demand, I think they're pretty much a monopoly, which is why their stuff is $$$$$. Until Nagisa or someone else comes out with arms, I guess there's no reason for them to lower their pricing. Their cost is like the equivalent of Nagisa and Ikeya Formula, combined. =X

yea makes my nagisa look like a $5 ***** with that price tag LOL
and might as well step lip my wheels, I can remove the tires if you want for a cheaper price. It'll probably end up similar pricing to 21" new wheels or cheaper because of shipping.

Yeah I can't justify that. I think for $10K someone here in CA could make me some arms and I put the extra money towards everything else planned for the car.

October 2011, Friends of mine surprised me by picking me up this suspension and forcing me over the deep end with this car:
Aragosta x Youzealand SS Hybrid Harmonic Suspension:
This suspension (most likely the first on this chassis) utilizes the OEM air bag suspension but replaces the lower strut with an Aragosta coilover (IIRC, Rev-01 is the only other person in the US I've seen run this suspension). This particular suspension is Tein EDFC compatible and allows the user to still lower/raiser the car through the already installed DataSystem module.
Time to pick up an EDFC and build a fancy bracket to house all these gadgets. :)

ohhhh so you're the one who bought the kyoei lug nuts... I bugged Eddie to get me those for my Q but turns out they only have threaded size for lexus. He showed me yours and I wanted them. Yeah, that's me. Eddie's been taking care of me since the late 90s with my cars, he showed me the Weds (all of them) you bought from him as well.
What's crazier is that I've actually eaten at your restaurant a few times with my co-workers because I work right down the street from you. I think the last time I ate there, Charlie dropped you a phone call and you took care of us. I'll stop by again in the near future.:biggthumpup:

...and to stay on topic, Anceltion kit has been sold as of this week,
while I wait for my suspension to arrive in the next couple weeks or so - but I had a chance to get my LS600 Full Leather dash installed at the Tustin Lexus dealership.

while I wait for my suspension to arrive in the next couple weeks or so - but I had a chance to get my LS600 Full Leather dash installed at the Tustin Lexus dealership.

...oh and now that the kit is sold, planning on ordering this next week:
Early Merry Christmas to me.

damn, guess i never clicked this thread. ballin' tough. that arogusta/yz setup is the biz. go ahead and drop that $$$ on the t-demand, get that suspension on there, new mp kit... game over. wouldn't mind seeing a wheel change either, never been a brazeria fan and with the new kit i think they'll look outdated. 600 dash is ridiculous too.

agree with you on almost all points. the aragosta/yz set up just arrived, so I need to head over to tein to make sure i have the right motors/module to control this thing before install. the only thing I can't justify are the t-demand arms - would love to have a local shop like studio make me some cnc arms, but no one seems to be up to it - I just can't pull the trigger on spending $10K with a core exchange for some control arms; quite frankly, if it were half of that (or less), it'd be done by now. as for the wheels, i know the bazreias won't match this aero. personally i never thought I'd be purchasing the MP aero, but I also don't think it matches up right - so the wheel change is definitely coming, and brakes of some sort :)

yeah, 10K is a hard pill to swallow... i'll have maybe half of that in mine all said and done. on the other hand, arms are a crucial part when it comes to precision fitment. you had to spend about that on wheels, give a couple stacks, so why hesitate to spend it on something just as important? assuming you have it to spend of course. if the studio guys get on it that would be awesome, but in the end it's something you have to have imo. can't build a house without a foundation.

i definitely agree with you that arms are a crucial part of any build. my bank roll is a little dehydrated at the moment, and that $10K pill + core exchange is just a pill I just can't swallow yet. as for what I paid for wheels, I didn't pay $10K +/- a couple stacks near that, either, so a purchase of this magnitude definitely exceeds everything else I've put into the car. I want to believe that other companies (hopefully nagisa) will eventually release control arms for this chassis, so I don't want to bite that bullet JUST yet.

i can dig it man... just sayin'. definitely jealous of your bankroll, even if it is depleated. i thought those 22" weds ran $2K+/wheel.
have you hit up the studio guys yet? they've been real good about developing parts i needed so far. i bet if you gave them a measuring session they'd come up with something for you.

I think the best advice for people who are complaining about waiting is to just continue copping parts that pop up, that way when things start coming in, they start coming in one after another after another. "when it rains, it pours" is a good feeling when it comes to car parts.

haha thanks. unfortunately because my car is 14x1.5 there wasn't too many lug nut options (at least between those worth considering); initially when I was looking I wanted something along the lines of Dency but stumbled across these also in the Kyo-Ei High Class Series. I'm also a sucker for things that are limited edition lol

yeah i can't wait to see your LS put together too man - after seeing your TL - i know you'll go HAM on your build. I'd actually really like to see someone put together the Aimgain kit from TAS this year - that kit looks crazy, but I'm not sure what it would take to get it to fit the pre M/C cars
I would say that when you get the MP Aero we should do a photoshoot - but there's a huge body of water between us.

if you can buy it, that means the finance company lending you the money believes you can afford it ;)
im planning on installing the kit after I get my suspension on. AST in TX is supposed to be sending me some things in the next few days, so hopefully after I get my suspension fully dialed in, I can get this kit slapped on asap.

My coilovers are essentially OEM Struts with a threaded sleeve from Aragosta put together by Youzealand. Typically to get a suspension like this, you'd need to send in a core exchange, but I purchased these used from YAJ.
Aragosta is otherwise known in the states as AST.

i think TPL uses ast shock cartridges in their aragosta line (along with their own rana springs on their high end setups), but everything else is different. ast holland/usa doesn't really offer an off-the-shelf double tap coilover (of course, you can have it for a price haha).
but the cool thing is if your aragostas ever need service or revalving, ast usa can handle it.

Just a quick update, just received a couple pictures from the good folks over at Signature Autobody, over fenders installed, new wheels mounted up:
For the new year, not sure how much more I want to do to this car (since I can't get myself to do the '14 front end conversion), I stumbled upon a couple items I ended up purchasing from YAJ:
21" Aimgain GVS off the Aimgain TAS Demo Car:
Fitment is 21x10.5 -12 (fronts) and 21x10.5 -28 (rears). Since the wheels are off the Aimgain Demo Car with the over fenders I'm guessing this fitment will be pretty close to where I want to rebarrel my BBS LM-Rs to. Until then, I'll likely refinish these bootleg OZ Futuras with some color to have some fun for the time being.
Oh, and I also bought an HKS GT Supercharger to attempt the first install here in the US. :)

This is the exact shit that makes me wish the scene was still active as it was. Cars boss in so many ways, can't wait to see the new wheels and SC kit.
I look at how over the top the style is coming out of Japan and I don't get it, I'll take this clean killing it style any day over the crazy vents, obscene camber and loud as paint.
