Pricey? Look up zeal and come back.

If you want to buy shitty offshore stuff you bought the wrong car. Stance is Japanese made and probably the best value when it comes to coils.

Get ready for an ebay build....

You were making the argument that the given coil-overs were too expensive.

Gotta pay to play.

Lol. The only budget coilover I know people are using on here is the Megan Ezsport's. I havent heard nor seen anything negative yet.

BC racing is pretty popular since you can get custom spring rates and valving.

I know what you meant by that..comming from Honda's myself, good coil overs were easily $800-1400 range. In this scene I think everything's 3x's as much as what we are use to haha.
But from what I seen posted Megan's seem to be the best bang for buck coilovers and aside from the "brand" haven't heard much negative about them.
BC is another popular set with high reviews along with Powered By Max coilovers (which I myself am running),
and from what I have heard Tein's don't offer an extremely low stance.

hope this helps since help is what you ask for=)

I don't really know how you can beat psMAX. They're a true "JDM" brand, the headquarters is in Shizouka, they're a long time well established drift suspension company known for high quality and parts that can take abuse. They've created mainly for the US market a "VIP spec" series, which utilizes the knowledge they have from drift with VIP and produced something affordable, stocked in the US and made to very high standards. My car rides smooth, firm and solid feeling, there are no creaks, noises, nothing, just pure love haha. Other people I know w/ their parts feel the same.

^Yep. I do lots of sourcing and my partner goes to China just about every month. Chinese made can be just as good, if not better, than anything we or the Japanese make as long as you tell them what quality level you want. All these $10,000 carbon fiber road race bikes like Tour de France stuff, think they're made anywhere but China? China leads the way in many manufacturing technologies any more. You design it and engineer it and they hit that shit spot on. Of course there are countless cheap Chinese knock-off things out there, but there are also countless impeccably made high quality goods coming from there too.

All the parts are made in China, why the hell would they manufacture the same collars, tubes, perches and seats where they are expensive.

I am referring to Japanese BUILT coils. Stance are built in Japan, keyword is BUILT. BC, Ksport, megan etc are made AND built in china, taiwan and where ever else.

i dont get why this would matter. a product is only as good as the components it is made of. again, as long as the company has a high level of standard (bc racing in my experience) it should be all good.

Bc, the coils that can't stand a cool winter without needing a revalve by the end of it.

I'm not going to argue which is better or why. Stance kills BC and megan hands down and that's not even disputable. the difference is, one is made AND built in Taiwan. The other is built in Japan.

LOL none of the coilovers you have listed are made in Japan. HSD makes Stance coilovers along with Kbee, Kei Office and Buddy Club coilovers of Japan and many other brands. HSD is in Korea for the newcomers to the suspension game. But Stance's engineering and RD is leaps and bounds above Megan coilovers. Megans are pretty much just above MDU/Godspeed copies with prettier badging and better customer service. BC's are the next big cheap coilover.

I think at this point Zeals are the only coilovers left 100% built in japan. JIC's are also made in taiwan.

it matters where a part is from as long as the piece is quality. me personally, i will trust a company that makes their own parts vs. one that sources from a build house. in my eyes that's the best way to ensure quality, and my theory seems to hold true when you compare third party brands (that i've dealt with anyway) vs. manufacturers.

for the record, jic were not made in taiwan. they were made (most parts as well as assembly) in japan. some parts, mostly rubber/seals, were sourced from asian (jic owned) factories that aslo produced parts for oem. seals that you will never see were stamped. this information is all directly from jic before the doors were closed.

it matters where a part is from as long as the piece is quality. me personally, i will trust a company that makes their own parts vs. one that sources from a build house. in my eyes that's the best way to ensure quality, and my theory seems to hold true when you compare third party brands (that i've dealt with anyway) vs. manufacturers.

for the record, jic were not made in taiwan. they were made (most parts as well as assembly) in japan. some parts, mostly rubber/seals, were sourced from asian (jic owned) factories that aslo produced parts for oem. seals that you will never see were stamped. this information is all directly from jic before the doors were closed.

Good info on the JIC's. Like tien's, majority of parts are out sourced than the actual coilover is assembled in Japan.

you have to differentiate between sourcing parts from an outside manufacturer and owning factories in other countries. lots of japanese manufacturers (tein included) produce oem parts as well. manufacturing out of japan is cost effective; but they are still sourcing the parts from their own factories, not just purchasing off the shelf parts from a third party. too much has been made out of the country of origin. it's who's making the parts and how, not where. all you have to do to slap a "made in japan" label on the box is assemble it in japan.

exactly OG thats the point im trying to get across..the country where something is made is not enough information to determine whether a product is good or not
