PBM vs Megan vs BC coils - best over all ride for daily driving a 00 LS400?

So guys Ive owned all of the above coilovers but on different chassis.  I love how the LS rides stock and dont want it to end up riding like a 240 when its all said and done. So of the three brands listed which provides the best daily driver qualities? Heck lets add stance to the list. Trying to keep the prices below 1500.00 for the setup so my brand selection is pretty limited. 

My experiences with them 
PBM - Sc300 - stiff but not jarring - s14 - wwaaayyy to stiff
megans - s14 - ok, but wasnt reliable for hard driving - did not go low at all-
BC - 2nd gen GS - excellent overall
Stance - s13/s14/SC - excellent over all


So guys whats your experiences with ls400 coilovers?

I have d2s now, gonna sell it

Ordered me some PBM's

pbm has ucf20 coilovers now??? I got megan LP's right and they are ok they are a bit too soft I should have gone with BC racings with custom spring rates but if PBM makes some for the ls i may look into them

Soft as in bouncy?

Yea it's a lil bouncy going over bumps and uneven road don't get me wrong it's not bad at all but I'm more worried about bottoming out with them it kinda sucks specially if u wanna go low ...

even if your at the highest setting with the damping its still bouncy?

I like the BC coilover,I had them on the 430 & they rode pretty nice..

Get BC custom spec with short tubes. Or you can go with Stance

there's a lot more to ride quality than just what coilover you use. not saying experience isn't helpful but for those using this thread as a reference (or even investigating first hand) keep in mind that there's more to setting up a suspension than bolting in coilovers. for example, things perceived as poor ride quality due to installed coilovers may really be geometry issues.

True that. Just like when people do not preload their springs right before install.

had megans, rode pretty good just doesnt go as low.
have d2 now, ride really nice and would recommend.
bc racing, heard great reviews from many owners.
pbm, heard great reviews from a couple owners.

ucf2x suspension fits ucf1x.

Vincent...you change your coilovers every month, haha. I have had megans for 3 years and ride good, just the rears wont tuck rim with out adjusting preload. I would try BC racing or PBM's, just for their beauty alone (good reviews too). I also changed my bushings to polyurethane and made a noticeable difference. They allow the coilovers to do their job better.

by changing to poly bushings, what kinda of noticeable difference did it make? i know that its somewhat of a subjective topic, but i am interested to know :)

I changed my front lower ball joints, front strut rod to poly, rear axle carrier to poly and rear trailing arm to poly. My car used to clunk over small bumps in the road even after i did the UCA cutout, which i thought was surprising since it shouldnt even be making contact. But ended up being the front strut rod bushing that was dead, replaced that and the car rode like new. Stiffened up the whole car, i love my driving my car now

Agreed, It stiffens up things. With the firm coilovers and riding low, the stress transfer to the weak points like soft factory rubber bushings. I believe it allows you to adjust to coilovers and it becomes more accurate for lack of scientific terms.

I wonder how the D2s ride on the LS. Had D2s on my S13, and they felt so shitty.

Rode in a UCF20 with megans, they were pretty awesome for daily driving. But when they are really really low, they ride pretty bad

Go with bags!!! There are friends with benefits with that route (road hazards and drive way entrance). =)

I had a set of Megan LPs for my Lexus 2GS and it rode smooth like stock with the adjustability of a coil.  Not bad for a sub $1k setup.
