Long drawn out build thread. G50.

Ok, i finallly have a g50 :D

I got her the other day, and the first thing i noticed that had to go was the brown/tan/poop interior.

so, i decided to fix this...

i was in the junkyard on thursday, and found all black interior for $200! sooo...BAM!

door panels need to be recovered. and the steering wheel is super sticky and nasty, i need to find something else. but the seats and everything else are legit!
also, re covered the headliner and a piillers in suede. i love suede...

and i dye'd the stock headliner black over the sun roof. i couldn't figure out how to get everything out and apart.

Looking good. Interior change def made a huge difference.

Nice start! Interior looks really good. Do you plan on a color change or respraying that color?

i was thinking about the same color, maybe a little darker. but i'm not sure yet. Whatever its going to be, it's going to be close enough that i dont have to repaint my door jams, engine bay and truck.

Nice start.. But if u can execute that photoshop, then ill give it up... Wrapping the fenders around rims with a nice radius is not gonna be as easy as just photoshoppin it....

But until then, keep it clean and flamed up!

huge improvemnt on the interior.

Well, Got my car tinted this afternoon. 35% on the sides and rear.  coilovers come tomorrow. 
pics will follow and yes, i am SUPER excited!

Looks great man, the interior for $200 is a steal... cant wait for the coils!!!

Ok, I got side tracked for a brief moment by this, got a great deal on it so i'll be able to make some money on it later...its the blaster on the right.

I already have new wheels on it, new carrier bearings, and new clutch cable.

But anyways! i just worked out a trade on my varrstoens that i had on my s13 for these. :D

Which should look great on the g50. 18x9+13 and 18x10+13.

But really what im waiting on now is a new lower bracket for my coilovers. I eff'd one up when trying to bore it out. :p

here's a little tip for you: if you switch to the 90-93 third arm you don't have to bore the bracket. keep us updated.

oh for real? you wouldnt happen to have a pair would you?

i happen to have a pair on my car. lol. check junk yards, ebay, or nico part outs.

and we are talking about z32 coilovers, correct?

yup. z32/r32 lower mount is the same as 90-93 g50.

Well, got the coilovers on night before last. Then last night i relocated the harnesses on each fender, rolled all the fenders. and mounted the wheels.

Unfortunatly, i can't ride that low, the oil pan is less than a half an inch off the ground... 
   So today i'll be raising the front up about a 1/2" and hopefully adding some camber. And getting some pictures :D


But really i need 19"s if i want to keep the fitment i want. so, i will be keeping my eyes open...

what coils did you go with?

Went with the megan EZ street. i havn't decided if i really like them yet. they ride alot different than they do on a z32...

im looking in to getting some coils and i dunno which one to get yet.

i'm in the same boat as far as the oilpan and same spec wheels. I have already punctured my oild pan. Anybody have an recomendations to fix this prob? Motor mount spacers?

just made this tonight, out of an international truck bumper that was bent up. slightly ghetto, but works like a freakin champ!

and, did  a little tweaking as far as ride height, camber and such tonight, so i was able to drive it a bit. :)

oh and btw, the megans are kinda bouncy on this thing. i'd try going with something with stiffer spring rates...

i have 14k / 11k spring rates and mine feel bouncy too. maybe the camber has an effect on it but im in need for stiffer springs too. what rates are you running?

8k/6k. haha   as far as camber goes, i barely have any. i just have stock arms...

Ghetto or not,if it works it works. A thick piece of steel look like the better option than raising the engine.

Seriously... I've been tempted to sell my car a few times. Honestly I really like the G50 chassis so if I did sell it, it would be to build one with a STOCK engine. hahaha Kinda annoyed since the car could have been finished given the time, money and effort we've put into just the swap.
