Newb from Aus with a KA7 Legend.
Hey guys, Some people on here may recognise my username from various forums, a lot wont have any idea who I am though :)
My name is Daniel, more commonly know as Oxer or Daniel J Oxer, and I live in Melbourne Australia. I have been a big fan of the VIP Style of tuning for many years, along with many others. Over the last couple of years due to unforseen events my daily driver has been somewhat publicised and some of you may know the car, but due to that I have also had a lot of negative feed back in the form of people and even forums seeing me as a "scene *****" which is not the case. The beauty of the internet is that people can openly express their opinions as THEY see fit, without any regard as to what other people around them may think. Its a part of life on the internet, and to be honest I have never cared what someone else things about the way I do things.
Which leads me to posting up here. I bought this car about 2 years ago. It was fully imported from Japan, and has quite a few accessories that werent released in Australia. Originally it was an inconspicuos daily driver while my licence was suspended (We all need to make a living somehow right?). When I did get my licence back I decided that the altitude sickness was growing old.
I lowered it using, lets just say, Unconventional springs. Somewhere along the line I came upon the conclusion that being honda's highest quality, classiest model they had to offer, and with the original pricetag in 1992 being upwards of $90k, there was no other path for this car but the VIP one. I decided to purchase some wheels off a friend, which I now kinda regret buying, but I was young and silly and didnt realise there was a world of wheels on YJ Auctions for a lot less.
SSR Proffessors SP1 in an amazing 18x8+49 and 18x9+37 which fit suprisingly well. Damn hondas and their high offsets.
Then tradgety struck. Both head gaskets let go at the same time. Anyone who knows these cars will understand the amount of pain my ass felt in pulling these heads off.
With some sweat, a lot of swearing, a little bit of blood and alcohol the heads were off to be rebuilt and ported.

I then decided that money might be well spent on more bling, which again is something I look back on and facepalm.jpg but hey, could be worse.
Then, once again, tradgety struck. It would appear that this car would take one step forward, and three back. The diff let go the day after my 21st birthday. I was heart broken, due to the fact It was not even driveable to get it home. Being so disheartened with the car, I towed it home, dropped it on the street and left it. after 2 weeks of sitting out the front, some one decided to kick in the rear quarter, for fun I would be guessing. I didnt even care, I had by this stage tied up quite a bit of money in the engine, and the car itself, and now it was nothing. Seemingly worthless.
So this year, I have decided things will be different. My daily has a blown head gaskey, which I am not willing to fix, so I will continue to drive it into the ground. The legend is going to take the number one spot this year, where I will dedicate my efforts and time, along with quite a lot of money, to bring it back to its future glory.
I have already purchase the next set of wheels, which again are japanese, but are being refinished by a company I consider good friend in the US. I am traveling back to the US in 2012, but with any luch I will have most of this car finished by then. untill then...

I know more lows are needed... Over at Stanceworks, our motto is "Low is a Lifestyle"
Heres some pics as a refference to my daily.
and what it looks like now, trying to draw less attention to myself in it.. lol. It also doesnt have roof racks on it anymore, They were only on to actually carry shit lol.

Haha, S|W can sometimes be a bit intense as a forum, but if you look past all the rubbish there is a decent amount of quality there :)
Im tossing up whether or not to leave the body parts stock (front bar, rear bar, skirts etc) Or if I should take the plunge ond get a kit from Japan.. I found one which I love, but its around the $6k mark. Alternatively I was contemplating finding a JP kit from another model and making that suit, but that would be just as much work.
I think the factory body will work with a fresh coat of paint, especially laying subframe front and rear... thoughts on this?

Why do that when jp made a kit for our cars. I imported a admiration kit from japan for my ka7 plus I had the 1st set of rear reclining seats and dual storage bins for the ka7 in the USA.

By jp I meant Junction Produce... From the research I have done I cant find one. Im not a huge fan of the admiration kit, I do love the Insurance kit, but Im not too sure I want the whole boxed looking bottom half of the car...

Yes junction produce. Most ka7 owners didn't care for the look of the jp kits they even made them for the vigor or inspire of the same time line. Yea I'd have to pass on both the jp and insurance kits.

Wheels are paid for and sitting in Cali, suspension still needs to be put together, but it will get there..
