Car looks absolutely amazing... the exterior color choice is beautiful & the interior's immaculate & love the upgraded steering wheel & the wood graind... everything's perfect. I'm just surprised how you've invested so much money but then you buy rep wheels & body kit, it doesnt make sense cuz it seems you can afford the real stuff...

thank you i understand, the wheels came with center caps dont feel like going out of the way buying the center caps. I already mentioned that wheels were a temp thing, a set of SSR Proffessors SP3s will be on order very soon. Wheels are one thing, no such thing as a real quality knock off 3 piece wheel. Now as far as the kit goes, shine fits just as good if not better then auto couture, its also made out of FRP flexible fiberglass. I dont see paying twice as much for a real thing and waiting months for it when somone somwhere actually made a kit that looks exactly the same, fits just as good if not better and more durable also made in US so no very little production time.

thank you the build was a spur of the moment type thing, i do have money for the real thing. I'm a rational person, i look at things different then other people. Just because its real it dosent mean its better, most of the time the real thing is better for sure. The wheels are temp i simply ran out of cash during this spur of the moment, the kit i could of bought a real kit for more then twice the $, waited 3 months to get it vs 1 month from shine. Would of fit just as well if not worse and would of been less durable. If you lay the cards on the table its no rocket science.

Yah, I noticed the part about the SSRs after I had already written that & I just didnt edit it & about the body kit... Man do I understand where you're coming from... I can afford some things but it's just hard to shell out 5k for a body kit (that's the going rates for my car's BKs) & just to be clear I'm not knocking your car at all... matter of fact, I can live with a rep body kit but not with fake wheels, lol... but this community is really, really picky... you showcase your car around here & somebody's gonna say something negative &/or positive, shit, the first set of wheels I had on my car were legit, diamond cut, forged, multi-piece wheels & they got shit on just cuz they werent a known brand, didnt look vip & "looked" cheap, lol...

Nonetheless, at least you are not lying to ppl & say the bk is real...

P.S. SSR SP3s are awesome with huge lips...

exactly i dont have to pay for laser eye surgery. After all i didnt pull my valet out like most people and made phone calls, my car is 95% put toghether by me. ONly thing i didnt do was leather, gauges. All the paint works was done by a friend he sprayed, sanded, primed, sanded he sprayed, i wet sanded. We sprayed this thing in mechanic shop with no booth. I have about 300 hours of my life in this project so far, sweat and tears.

i hear you, thanks for compliments. The wheels are well they are "the wheels" the real is the best 100%. I explained about the kit multiple times if to other people it still makes sence to buy real to do more work, pay more and wait longer so be it.

ok i'm going to make last attempt to explain this to you and everyone else.

shine vs a/c
great fittment Good fittment
flexible fiberglass Regular fiberglass
1 month wait to get 3-4 month wait to get
1200+ shipping 2800 + shipping

if you brake a bumper or sideskirt to a point it cant be repaired you can buy seperatly and in less then a month get a replacement. If even after this youre not convinced a knock off product "IN THIS RARE CASE" is a better choice i dont know what to tell you

If you want to buy knock-offs....that's up to you.

Why do you feel the need to justify using fake products? It's your car...do as you please.

I would never use fake or replica products.....in the end, you get what you pay for. If budget is an issue, why not save up and buy the real thing...but that's just me.

I would suggest reading before you start typing......

I never said the real thing was worst.....I never said buy the real thing just to say you bought the real thing.

If you want to rock fake products, it's your money, so buy replicas.

Quick question.....would you buy a fake Rolex ?????

Oh, I'll see you at the Baltimore show too. I'll have my "eh" 3rd Gen GS, my "DONK" RX, and my crappy M45. If it's done, I may even bring my boosted IS. And my friend with the Blister BN Sport SC will be there too.....the one that you also don't like ...... :giggity:

Oh, I'll see you at the Baltimore show too. I'll have my "eh" 3rd Gen GS, my "DONK" RX, and my crappy M45. If it's done, I may even bring my boosted IS. And my friend with the Blister BN Sport SC will be there too.....the one that you also don't like ...... :giggity:

Those are pretty good reasons to justify buying the knock off imo. I personally don't buy knock offs. The way I see it, if everyone bought knock offs there will eventually not be any companies to knock off. Plus I rather my money go to the original creator rather than someone who just copied someone to make a quick buck. To each his own, your car looks good either way and judging by your wheel comment I can see you really are a rational person and just want the best bang for your buck. Looking forward to the new wheels.

thank you, i test fitted and put this kit on, fixed all the issues. If you know fiberglass you know its junk. Unfortenatly in my case nothing pollyurathane is avail. I would of loved to spend 3gs on a real A/C kit if it was made of pollyurathane and not fiberglass. Shine actually fixed the major issue with the front bumper, driver side highbeam had a gap, just like some of the factory lexus 97+ bumper covers. Auto couture does have a gap too, last person that had the gap fixed by shine showed pictures to everyone and i was expecting to have the same gap. When i got the kit and test fited the bumper i was surprized the front fit perfect with no gap at all. I saw the kit in person also and was not impressed with guality of fit.

i dont really think its even all about lead times and cost. its about principle...these knock off companies steal designs and have no remorse making a quick buck off of someone else...would you buy knock off designer shoes? same look, fraction of the price?

dude youre talking over 80 hours of my labor to make this damn thing fit and look the way it does, why would i spent 1500 more and i have to do the same. Designer shoes are totally different, most likely shit made in china will fall apart, fade and wont be made to be as comfy as the real thing plus shoes are 300 bucks not 3 grand. Man, talk about pushing new members away.....jesus

Great car man, I know the amout of time and energy you have spent to get her where she is now. I for one am a Huge fan, I love the look. Keep doing what you envision, chance's are people will come around. Honestly, this is one in a million case where you honestly cant tell the difference between the real product and the "Knock off" I would have chosen the Shine kit as well, Cheaper, Better quality and easier to come by. So be it if the big kids on the playground all want name brand stuff, Let them pay more for less in this situation.

Looking forward to seeing you again at Import Alliance, get the SC's together for some pics

Well you now that's just the exclusiveness aspect of the game, can't be too easy nor too cheap... if it were this place would be called VipStyledCivics :smiley-rofl:

But nonetheless a very clean car, and I just love the color

i got 2 issues here:

first, and foremost, i find it odd (putting it nicely) that you take so much pride in how much work you put in to bring your project to life but have no regard for how much work it was for auto couture and bbs to create their products. it's your car and you can do what you want but this is a character issue imo.

second, if the shine kit is so great what took 80 hours? doesn't sound like a significantly better quality product to me.

and on a semi-related note, if it's a quality issue and not a price issue, how do you explain the wheels? cast 1 piece vs 2 piece forged... or is "temporary" all the reasoning needed?

i'm really not trying to fuel the fire here or flog the deceased equestrian but these things just don't make sense to me on any level.

but like i said, the overall cosmetics of the car look great. honestly, i like the pics that don't catch the candy better but that's how i usuaklly am when it comes to candies. pearls, and metallics. i prefer solid colors.

I cant really answer your first question nicely so i'll leave it alone.
second question is i'm a prefectionist, take another SC with a auto coulture body kit that was just put one and painted as is and compare it to mine you'll se why i put 80 hours into my kit to make it what it looks like now.
semi related answer to semi related question i was doing everything over the winter at once, suspension, interior, exterior and i simply ran out of money. Im not rich like some of folks here i didint have extra 2 grand to finish the project. I have another car that can use these wheels, so i thought finish it up now over the winter get nice wheels and throw these wheels on wifes 2nd gen gs/daily driver.
I respect the knowledge in paint, best friend is a good painter and thought me a lot, i do alot of my own work, prep, some body, prime and sand, wet sand all my self. I will not spray kandy all over myslef i'm just not that good. I could spray solids and some pearls, metallics are a little harder to spray even.

car looks good.

it's just principal to get the real kit and respect the company that put in their money and time to produce the product. especially since this is the vip scene, we tend to pay more for name, exclusiveness and prestige. however, i'm beating a dead horse, and looking forward to the SSR's

You can easily spend over 100+ hours on prep, and paint alone.
I to am a protectionist and seeing this mans work is a testament to the amount of labor that went into this project. I saw when the kit was going on and there was No fitting required to make it perfect. However and this goes for ANY bodykit, Real or knockoff, the prep work for paint is substantial and in order to get the final product to be as glossy and "wet" looking as this im surprised he did it in 80 hours and with out a bay none the less. It has nothing to do with the fitment of the kit but the over all finish of the lacquer and clear.

My body work resume is pretty involved for those you dont think i know what im talking about. Iv done everything from factory repairs on Ferraris to custom bodykit work on Maseratis, to full carbon bodys on lambos. what this man did in 80 hours is phenomenal to say the least

i don't think it's gonna change his opinion, whether or not we say anything. if he's fine buying fake parts, then let the man be. it's not like typing out an article on why fake parts hurts the industry as a whole is gonna change anyone's opinion. just my $.02

i'm all too familiar with the hours that go into prep, but my question was in direct response to what the op said.

that's 80 hours of prep into the fit/finish of a bodykit. not a car, a kit. not just a kit, but a knockoff kit that's justified as being a better quality product. in 80 hours (less really) you could have made anything look good so the justification is invalid in my eyes. i have a feeling the latter part of the quote tells the true story.

but i'm done with this. my intention isn't to take anything away from the op's build, i just see a lot of bs (using the term loosely, it really isn't that serious) being typed. just keep it real (or fake in this case) and enjoy your whip.

However and this goes for ANY bodykit, Real or knockoff, the prep work for paint is substantial and in order to get the final product to be as glossy and "wet" looking as this im surprised he did it in 80 hours and with out a bay none the less. It has nothing to do with the fitment of the kit but the over all finish of the lacquer and clear.
i'm all too familiar with the hours that go into prep, but my question was in direct response to what the op said.
dude youre talking over 80 hours of my labor to make this damn thing fit and look the way it does, why would i spent 1500 more and i have to do the same.
that's 80 hours of prep into the fit/finish of a bodykit. not a car, a kit. not just a kit, but a knockoff kit that's justified as being a better quality product. in 80 hours (less really) you could have made anything look good so the justification is invalid in my eyes. i have a feeling the latter part of the quote tells the true story.

but i'm done with this. my intention isn't to take anything away from the op's build, i just see a lot of bs (using the term loosely, it really isn't that serious) being typed. just keep it real (or fake in this case) and enjoy your whip.

nice lexus, ow wait infinity..nope its an Acura you drive isn't it.......not exactly platform specific, so aren't you being hypocritical?

Lets be real you act like companies give a shit about you or that they are not out to make a quick few bucks. You think that the 5k kit isnt all about the name behind it, reality how much does a kit cost to make? You guys bash and bash people for their choices on their car like it's your wallet, car or life, get over it. Junction Produce is selling the same universal vents companies like Extreme Dimensions have been selling for 10 yrs.

This car is clean and all people want to talk about is the "real shit" topic. Get off you guys high horse like VIP is all about high rolling. If that's the case ( and just stating something, no offense to anyone) why aren't people bashing cars from the 90's because of how old of a car it is, whats so boss high roller about a car from 91.

All I read on this forum is "real this, fake that"...obviously people are going to use replica's, so why beating a dead horse till its bone are powder....

This fake product discussion needs a tampon, if this community is going to grow..bashing people isn't going to keep it elite, its going to destroy it and keep it from exspanding into new and creative realms like in japan period.

The color is awesome in my opinion. I personally am not down with the replica but as long as he's not trying to pass it off as the real deal...not like he's going to take it off and buy a real one. It seems that everyone that buys a replica kit has to try hard to justify their actions. You don't need to. You want to be a supporter of cheap fake stuff...so be it. No matter how much you type, how much you post, it will still be fake kit on your car. If you like it and you are satisfied, that's all that matters.

I personally think the car looks great. I can picture one built with real wheels, real exhaust, real kit....that car would look great too, if not better.

Yeah, I doubt they still selling it for that price, but I bought it by asking if they'll give me the groupbuy price and they did even though I missed the group buy. But, it doesn't matter to be honest, the AC kit took forever to come in, had to wait for months. So I could see why Shine Auto was a better option as far as wait time. Shine Auto is a good replica no doubt, and it is probably better than the AC kit as far as fitment since it's not a mold of a mold. I know they took some time to make sure the fit was better and actually test fitted on a few cars before releasing. I only wished that Shine would have tweaked the design some to make it stand out as being a different kit since they already put all that effort into the fit. That way, it would be unique kit in it's own way and not have to go through all the fake this/fake that scrutiny. Either way, you car is still dope and break necks, and well built, so that's a win in my book.

Paint looks good. I'm sure my AC kit didn't take 80 hours of work. Body shop I went through said it took minimal work to get correct fitment. Don't know how you got shine as a great fitment vs auto couture as a good fitment. Nice look nonetheless.

I think the only knock off thing I want to see is the this endless crap about knock offs... knock it off! its just replica talk about some real talk that has been over sold by other members..

Real is for show winners, shut downers, and show queens.

Replica are for people understand there is the real deal. Daily drivers that will run over a dead animal in rural areas or shitty roads. I am sorry, there is good reason why I have not bought a kit for my F50.. Cause if i destroyed it cause the raccoon i hit while going around a blind corner it would be toast and have to wait what takes for a new born child to come.

I hope to ascend to the lowest of low cars while being static so anything I am going to buy, has to be somewhat flexible. And shine, fuck, i wish they made something tight for my body style. They make everything on par, and the service is great, and if it doesn't fit.. send a pic and they will send you a new one. (have on my S14, their front lip and sides and couldn't be happier. But this is the same reason why I will not paint my car candy colored cause I daily my car a lot more than most think, even while its under construction not one fuck is given, Cause I love the adolescent feel of how dumb it is. And already had two people back into my car, an over pass decided to shed concrete onto my car. If it was candy i would have to repaint the whole car.

So with all that said, I give props to him cause his car what seems like flawless painted candy, no zebra stripes anywhere, and for a discounted deal.. that's fuckin fabtastic. Rep wheels, I am with Blanco.. but you saw where I come from with the kit.

So lets knock off, the knock offs unless we see real issue. Cause we all bought knock off something.. I am sure some of them which bought a Quadrant home, which is a knock off of a real home:dance:

whenever my car is out of the shops, its been a daily driver. Never been to a show in it. Wekfest is the first show it will ever see. So I don't think the above comment is accurate. There's guys rocking shine kits that get in magazines and even "Best of Show"

I personally would never rock a fake kit, but I have no problem with someone who does. I see the principle that people talk about when it comes to real over fake, but I don't push that on anyone. This is pretty much a dead horse. Most people that rock fake kits have this need to explain why they bought it...Usually people that rock real kits don't have to explain anything. Why is that?

I personally would never rock a fake kit, but I have no problem with someone who does. I see the principle that people talk about when it comes to real over fake, but I don't push that on anyone. This is pretty much a dead horse. Most people that rock fake kits have this need to explain why they bought it...Usually people that rock real kits don't have to explain anything. Why is that?

lol the only reason i had to explain my self is because i got the "it looks great and....its a knock off so no i change my mind your shit blows"

Because i've seen ac kit in person put on the car with little work and it didnt look too good.

authentic or not, his car looks tits, and that kit seems to have pretty good fitment from what i can tell.

and from what i understand, the AC kit for the SC is discontinued, so nock offs are ok since they dont make the kit anymore anyway and people still want it.

Had to come over here to see what all the talk was about replica's vs real. I had the real AC Kit on my SC fitment wasn't perfect and it cracked just like any other kit, there were no other options available when I got mine in 06. I think the Shine kit is a good option. I have a T's Project Kit on my SC now very simple setup similar to the 97 conversion, if a company makes a replica it won't bother me.

Anyway car's looking good keep up the good work, glad I'm not into the VIP stuff its all about power for me now.

thank you, i've had been going back and forth on doing GTE swap. I have a problem with keeping stuff the way it is though. I know everyone does but with power mods i tend to take it to next level. Three years ago i got rid of a low 9 sec camaro that started its life as a bone stock car. Make the long story short it was a full out race car by the time i was ready to sell it, i'm afraid this will turn into something simular which was very stupid on my part. I dont know whats going to happen i'm sure i'll get bored with what i have now by mid season this year and maybe do a swap.

Just F'n gorgeous!
Love the color. I first saw it on a '90 Mustang back in the day. I will use it on one of my cars someday.
All this knock-off talk still. Many many of the so-called 'real' or 'creator' companies steal ideas from Benz etc.. and just slightly stylize them. It's laughable. And when they $3k kit still doesn't fit right.....:smiley-rofl:
Charge realistic prices and people won't ever consider buying the knock off. Rape the consumer and you get what you deserve = nothing.

Hey thanks, funny fact here it goes....
My Jap made Wheels were fitted with Korean rubber at first..... they took total of maybe 2.5 ounces total to balance out, then i realized the 225 Korean made tires were too big. I ended up buying 215s Dunlops made in japan and installed them on the SSRs....2.75 to 3.25 ounces per wheel! Now i took the 225 korean tires and threw them back on the Taiwan made wheels less then 1 ounce per wheel. The knock off wheels are used and the SSR wheels are brand new. Moral of the story just because it made in japan its not the best. These dunlops def balanced out worst then Nexens which took about 2 ounces per wheel on same SSR. I'm guessing because of 3 piece design its very hard to make a wheel true balanced from factory. Either way i love the new rims and def see why they cost alot more.

Next week i got a guy coming to me to strip the 20% that i just had redone in march of last year:pat:, and do Bronze 35%

who's to say what's realistic? if there was no replica would the original's price be unrealistic? the perceived value has been degraded by the knockoff. not really fair when one company cooked from scratch and the other just popped it in the microwave. nobody was complaining about the price 5 years ago when there weren't other options (and the dollar wasn't f**ked). in fact, having high end goods was embraced and anything else was shunned (this conversation would have been edited and maybe even locked). the standards of the scene have definitely gone down hill but we all knew that was coming didn't we. these products are to blaim and the people rocking them are the one's we predicted would ruin the scene and try to emulate the style without paying the price. prophecy fulfilled. don't like it? oh well. if you're late to the show you can't complain about parking, and if you park in the handicapped spot expect to get towed.

i honestlly don't care what y'all do but let's stop tryin' to justify it and let the f**kin' topic go. y'all keep recesitating the s**t.

This right here. Who honestly gives a s*** where the products came from. As long as it looks good who gives a f***. If it's not your preference, just say it looks good and keep it movin'. It's not like someone rocking a knock off is taking money out out your pocket. Stop crying like a bunch of little girls and be positive about something. It seems like you can never get someone to just say a positive comment about stuff on this forum. You didn't buy it, you didn't make it. Stop stressing over s*** that doesn't belong to you.

its only the RR, for some reason no one has the LR in stock rebuild so i'm going to suck it up and buy a brand new one for 300 and some slotted rotors front and rear. Going to paint these the same as my fronts the copper metallic base coat thats under the black cherry kandy. Got my headliner back last week still waiting on the rest of the stuff.

so got small update, got most of the interior stuff done. Ordered Accuair Elevel and 4 corner manifold now time to start on the trunk. I understand that the brown is not most peoples choice, so you dont have to like it, its not for everyone. The reason i chose to go with brown is to stick with the stock theme of the car originally just make it better.

I read through this whole thread and all i could do is shake my head.....Anyway, Love the car homie, it looks really sweet. I've always loved those wheels and the paint work is just amazing. Keep up the good work man. Build it the way you want. I hope I can get my car to look as good as yours bro. I was thinking about suede interior parts. Great job on the air as well. Question, in the video, there is a faint line around the lip of the tires at the 0:34 mark. Is that from the quarter laying on the tires? will this mess up the tires? Well your probably not riding that low so your good I guess. I'm new to this air stuff, I'm going accuair as well soon. What do think about wiring in manual switches just in case the controller God forbid goes out. i just don't trust many things man.

Side bar, I have said this on other forums, I bought a real RMM kit and the rear bumper fits like trash (gaps under the lights). I bought the rear RMM wing, and the fitment was horrible. All the part are polyurethane which is why I bought it. The sides I have not complaints about, but all of that loyalty crap is out the window me. I now have a real L sportline polyurethane front bumper in the basement that I hope fits well.

I think people take this car stuff way to serious. I'm into it but only to a point. When things become disrespectful then I have to draw the line. I actually work in a HIV clinic so I look a life a bit different than the average person. Lighten up fella....Cars are fun but Life is real.

i apriciate the complitments, the line on the tire is strange enough is just a reflection that video was taped with my iphone. The rear tires dont rub at all. I cannot drive the car fully slammed, you can see that at the 2:20 mark thats #2 setting which is 50% of suspension travel, its about right for normal driving my #1 setting is adjusted to about 25% of travel manually accuair auto adjust is 10%. I can cruise very slow in a parking lot at 10% but i dont think i would want to risk slamming the rear wheel into the qtr that low.
I personally dont like switches, controllers dont fail, if anything line or fitting or manifold will fail. I never heard of controllers failing.

ok so the trunk is almost done just have a little bit odds and ends to do and off to the next project on the car. Still have to get a third brake light/parking brake boot as those 2 somehow got lost in the process. I also thinking of running some type of black heat shrink or wire loom over the manifold wires.

On the side note though, i can promise you that i wouldnt be all up in your build thread making little smart ass coments all the time. ^^ great response to haters, very mature route to take, well done.

additionally, still love seeing how your car is coming along. I'm sure I would've done a few things differently as well, but you summed it up best, to each their own. Definitely respect all of the hard work and dedication that's gone into your ride, and definitely one of the cleanest Sc's in the scene right now!

......it only took you 2 sentences to write something hateful. You don't even know me and say I bought my car the way it is? thanks, i thought about it. With the current floor raised 3" i have little trunk room already but its there. I plan on driving this to shows as far as 300-400 each way with wife and luggage i dont think i'll be a happy camper with no room in the trunk. Also i'm not a huge audio guy, i enjoy music but i dont like very loud base. I upgraded my stock speakers to cervin vega 5 1/4 all the way around, currently i have a small amp pushing my stock sub. surprisingly enough it actually sounds pretty decent, but i just ordered a diamon 10" to replace the stock sub i think i'll be happy for now with that.

SSSSSSSIIIIICCCKKK homie. man that nice. My accuair is in but I'm not sure what to do with my trunk.

I don't want to loose my spare tire, but don't want to loose bass in the trunk. i was thinking about side mounted enclosure or a good free air speaker for the 2nd gen GS.

I'm looking for something like this but have not seen any. (I know i can go have it made but don't want to go through all of that right now..I'm doing too much already LOL)

http://stores.ebay.com/crazyassstere..._sid=211760381

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&c...Aeu_0QGq1eSWDQ

This is what i'm going for but don't know where I would be able to mount the accuair valve and e level unit on the same board.

This is what i'm going for but don't know where I would be able to mount the accuair valve and e level unit on the same board.

Thank you, gs has so much room in the trunk that i dont think you would have a problem. You could always run smaller 3 gallon tank like me and bump the tank psi to 200. I really dont notice a difference between my 5 gal tank at 150psi and 3 gal tank at 200psi. You could get an exo mount just for the manifold mount the manifold on the tank and mount the compressors in front of it just like in the first picture you posted. Good luck!

also keep in mind that in that first pic the compressor set up is dual 480s those things are big, the 400 or 444 is a smaller compressor. I was thinking about the 480s they are about the size of airzeniths but they take too much amprage from my altenator. When both of the airzeniths obd2s were pumping before the car would idle down, and when they stop the car would idle up.

Yeah I have two 444. Is it true the airzeniths are quieter?

Thanks bro, yeah my boy Tommiedred just PM me about the EXO mount...the only draw back is
I'm not sure if the mount is specifically made for the accuair tank, which I don't have.

only one update right now, sc is out of comission. Started pushing coolant into overflow on the way back from VA beach did not overheat. Check and confirmed, h/g blown. Pulled the head off yesterday and ordered tt h/g and arp studs hoping that i can get this back toghether in time to make the Liberty bbq. Today while cleaning off the old gasket off the block noticed pitting on the block between the coolant ports. The pitting is pretty deep, so either pull this motor with 240k and have the block decked...or gte swap......2nd option seems like the way i will go.

Thanks everyone, heres a small update. Motor As i mentionioned before started pushing coolant into overflow, once started slightly overheated after a check over i found what i was kinda afraid off"blown headgasket" In every intention of making the Liberty BBQ i tore the car down the week before and got TT headgasket and ARP studs just to find out upon further inspection that block had some pitting so it needed to be dissasembled and decked and then rebuild.....so I decided to go ahead with GTE swap. Started about 4 weeks ago heres some pictures, sorry they are only iphone pics between working on customers cars, working on this on my own i dont have time to take pics with real camera.

Lol from screaming and yelling to sielence ... Maybe its a sign that for once
I'm doing something right . I must add I did not expect to spend this much time On semi shave . I kinda just just dove in and then realized this has to be the worst designed engine bay with all the humps, bumps and
Holes it made it extremely difficult to sand ESP. Bondo

Thank you , jdm twins. I tried using stock clutch that had 20k miles didn't work out so hot . I
Just finished installing act 6 puck street clutch , im still on stock aristo ecu so I'm limited by boost cut. Also bought Aem tru boost so the plan is to run a boost cut defender and safc and trying to run 18 psi and hopefully 400rwhp should be doable on stock 440s and tt denso fuel pump I installed yesterday

Sorry to being Sir Mood-Kill, but with just those upgrades I just don't see you getting over 350 at the rear wheels... but GL anyhow and don't forget to hook up a good wideband aswell so you don't accidentally go lean while peak boosting. Also with the jdm twins you remembered to put a 52-56mm id "choker flange" (1.0-1,2 bar max base boost achieved with back pressure) in the DP to keep your boost from spiking so you don't have to gather the ceramic blades from the cat-back/highway:biggthumpup:

It's cool you don't hurt my feelings , local guy just put one toghether jdm aristo on stock 440s and Aem v2 409 rwhp like I said around 400 rwhp , 350 will also be plenty for me, I've had fast stuff before over it honestly

Lol so are macco paint jobs on real kits.... I'll let you figure that one out. First time doing a bay shave , my buddy"painter " helped to grind the holes and bumps, I did the welding, the mud ... Primer ,basecoat and clear. Not bad for a parts changer . The foil was his idea, hes done it before and said it would work great and it did.thanks for the compliment

Foil works awesome. A lot of cage builders use it when painting, and engine bay stuff. Mainly cause it is not porous like paper, and dust wont stick either so when you degrease stuff it will just come off easy with air. and paint will adhere to it and wont come up when clearing.

Works well, and cheaper than actual painters paper, and its self forming so no need for tape really.

Since you went through all that time and effort.. I would move the battery to the trunk, and clean up the bay more since its all shaved out.

No room in the trunk really and plus I didn't shave under a battery tray I got bunch of holes where it bolts in since I had no intensions of moving it

foil makes sense, i'll be sure to remember that. not cause i'll actuually ever paint anything myself, but just so i can tell someone else about it and act like i know what i'm doing. i always wondered why more people don't just drop the subframe. any insight on that?

who has a maaco paint job on a real kit? or a maaco paint job period. do tell.

Ah yeah, thats cool.

Yeah its a lot more difficult and labor intensive to do it that way. Just cause you can still roll it around instead of rolling it into booth take sub frame off sus off and spray and then bolt it all up which is a pain to do on a full on down draft booth where its all grates lol.

Foil is also easier to remove than tape, especially tape that's been painted and cleared over

heres few shots from Tuner Evolution Car show in pa, the car made it to NJ for Wekfest and blew a front main seal right in front of convention center. I was able to fix it in the parking lot and drive it back home, sick cars and very long weekend for me.

No real big changes after the motor went in. After Wekfest i discovered i had a blown head gasket on the GTE....figures just my luck. Im pretty sure i got the engine like that, it was a very small leak. I should of just did the h/g before i put the engine in the car. Instead removing the twins was def not a walk in the park in the car. Anyways while i had the head at the machine shop getting pressure checked and decked/cleaned. I sanded the turbo charge pipes and intake manifold flat and sprayed them with Epoxy high temp paint. I also replaced the plastic tray in between the radioator and core support with aluminum piece and got aluminum piece of metal to go between the front bumper and the core support and blinged them out.I think thats about it for this year for me, already started looking into changing up the wheels more agressive and doing body work and changing color. Not really sure if i can acomplish all of that by next season, so the car might stay like this for next year but well see.

After the swap the car developed a bad drivetrain vibration at speeds over 60mph , after balancing the rear wheels like 5 times i realized i needed to look somewhere else. The chassis and the rest of the car has 245k miles so something had to be worn out. Suspension was all tight so i replaced the center support bearing with no real improvement, then i discovered this.

Needles to say i had to drop the subframe and replace all 6 subframe to body bushings which were kinda pricey from toyota, about 100 each so the vibration is now gone.I ended up going with supra bushings since they are a little more sturdy.

Got rid of all the sequential stuff, replaced a battery i think it made a huge difference.
