why?   some these watches these guys are sporting are $75+

realistically speaking, there is no function for a watch anymore. it's just accessorizing, we all have cell phones we could use to check the time.

some people just aren't into it, i used to be like this.

Mine is just an accesory like brainneeded said.   It's not the craziest watch out there, but it is a nice low end watch that looks good for interviews and other types of fancier events.

I wear a Casio g-shock for work.  My work requires me to document things at certain times throughout the day so having a watch on hand...or wrist is beneficial in my case.  

Its a hassle to pull out my phone to check the time lol  I can't be carrying my phone on me at all times.  The reception will get me to shoot blanks :yahoo_68:

yeah... its actually alot easier to look at your wrist for time rather then putting hand in pocket or holder...pull out...push button to light up the screen or even see anything and then reverse order.    ALSO phone batteries only last a couple days max...watches will last years.    There have been times I had to leave my phone in the car and there is no way to tell time without a watch after that.   I just don't depend on my phone for everything.

This is the truth.  It's easier to check the time when I wake up in the morning and not have to reach over for my phone.  Laziness, I have it.

BTW..it's histerical that they'd use tritium gas tubes on a "NAVY Seal" watch...tritium is ALWAYS on.  Haha..hey I'm trying to sneak around..but here I am! (I love watches that use tritium gas tubes though)

i don't even wear my watches that hard -- the rest of mine is pristine, but the numbers are rubbing off from me touching it and my jacket sleeves riding over it, i think. looks ugly now. i can't wait until they're completely gone -- i think that would be a good look

I had stopped wearing a watch about 10 years ago, figured I got a cell phone, why do I need a watch. But I got into watches again about 2 years back, so now I wear one every day. 

I have a Seiko automatic which I wear every day and beat up. It keeps very good time for an automatic, I have to speed it up only like once a month. It's simple and classic, with clear base to see the movement.

I use to wear or drive things that are special only on special occaisons. But I realize that everyday is a special occasion when you are alive. Always saying I should have worn this or drove that more. Fine things are meant to be appreciated everyday reminds us of our hard work:) to quote a friend "not driving your Ferrari everyday is like making your hot girl friend more appealing to the next boyfriend"

Very true, but the watch was my late grandfather's watch and i hold it dear to me.  It has more sentimental value to me.  I will wear it more when I am fully successful (if the day ever comes) but as a student, I dont want to wear a Rolex every day lol.  Plus, I got a bunch of nice watches to use in the mean time lol.  I totally believe in the statement you said, but I strongly believe using it when the occassion arises...(not proper terminology but cant seem to get the right wording....like if i had a ferrari, i would drive it all the time, but i wouldnt take it off roading if you know what i mean.)  My grandfather bought it and wore it throughout his days as a construction worker.  So when i finally got it from him, the crystal was cracked, was missing the crown, and the band was falling apart.  So sent it to Rolex for full restoration :)

You grandfather did just that. I would understand about sentimental value. And you are right I would not wear it to school. But you should dress for the job you want not the one you have! :) don't say if your successful, cause that puts doubt in your capabilty! You want it, go get it. 

This will be worst example but it's my favorite and no one can knock it: Birdman is my fave example cause he came from the bottom where you dream of it and know life where dreams don't come true, you know life as the struggle just getting by day by day. Knock him all you want, but you look at history and you can't say it wasn't true. I had it a lot more fortunate then him when my mom met my step dad, and worked our way up. But just cause I have it good doesn't mean it should stay there! You have a jump start bigger than most people who became successful, why not take advantage of it!

Slowly growing. I probably love watches more than cars now i think. Dont need more garage space, however box space for the watches will become a concern later. But this way of displaying them is best since you dont have to open a box, take watch, adjust band, put box away.

Those are some nices ones! I love invicta! I am one of those that does t care if it's cheap if it looks awesome I will buy it. A man said invicta is a poor mans rolex. Which it could be but I say it's the smart man with money watch lol. Best bang for the buck on construction by far. I am wearing my rose gold one now and love it. It's bigger than most rolex which is why I like it. Also it's rare to see someone have the same one as you. 

I do love PAM too. I think big toss up for next watch. Though it will have to be something for the car first. This rolex was from a client who owed money to me so not sure if that was a good deal, but gold goes up in price. Lol

I want a AP Royal oak rose gold series. I sat next to a guy at a basket ball game that had one and a matching for his wife. Though I am not ready to ever spend 120k on one or 70k for a possible preowned it was amazng to see and be able to try one on when I was at a dealer. Just need a phantom before I Rick Ross it.

I can honestly say that i've ever seen a Rollie that blew me away, unless it was flooded with diamonds. I can't afford Rolex, but i probably wouldn't buy one even if i could afford it. I would never pay thousands for a watch. 

an Invicta is probably the most i would ever pay for a time piece. Most people consider $400-500 Invictas on the "a little expensive" side anyway, lol. I'd rather spend my money on car parts than watches though..

yeah, Rolex how ever is all about the metals and craftsmanship. The metals are usually the highest quality stainless, or they are solid gold white gold plat, vvs1 diamonds etc. which is why it drives value up. You can however get plated over stainless too.

Collector piece is why I'd like to have it but could go for another Rolex to be honest.

Some of those seiko's run over 7000 dollars so they can be up there in price with some panerai's.

here's one in the 4000 to 5000 range that I'd love to own.

No bling factor because everyone will think it's a 100 dollar time piece, and that's the beauty of it all.
