Millenium silver GS430 Build Thread

Well long story short i got my gs from my brother in 2008 as a junior in high school and didnt know crap about cars still dont know that much :slap: but anyways got my car with a good start some OZ operas and tein coilovers took me a long time to do anything to the car but heres my journey so far....

Then came my JP roof and trunk spoiler

Then one late night after a 14 hour shift at work at 12 am some Douche bag decided to leave a shopping cart in the middle of the street!!! :sad: Messed up my front bumper and broke my side marker. So instead of just fixing up the bumper alone decided to get a new mod :biggthumpup:I then got one of the last TTE lips and decided to get rid of my sidemarkers for a more cleaner look

Then i was getting tired of the Oz's so instead i got some VS-XX but they were way too weakly offset sooo i sold them but still waiting to get my new wheels :dance:

i dont know of any place that does it but ive found this site that sells barrels. i always liked the operas and wondered how they would look with alittle bit more aggressive offset. def one of my fave rims!hope this helps!

jp parts should have the logo on the backside (at least i think it's on every piece).
 
operas are dope. they are 2 piece so you would  need entire barrels, not just lips, but you have a good set (18x8.5/10 right?) so you should just space them out if needed. the no lip front is 25% of the appeal to a true connoisseur.

Hmmm never saw any jp logo when i got it :( not sure... and yup there 18x8.5/10 and wow there getting much more love on here than CL haha might sell them on here then when i get my new wheels maybe lol

Well instead of making progress... some ******* low life stole my jp roof spoiler and stole one window visor and broke another in half..........

Looking good on those fenders.

The fronts looks real nice.  I like how they kept the lines factory like out front.  In the rear, I think if they would have pulled a little less with that style flare, it would look a little better but overall, good work.  Looks sick

i say spacers + lower would tie it together well.

i agree with agi and BoB. car looks really good, just not as aggressive as you would expect with a flare like that in the rear.

the work looks good, but that flare out back doesn't look right. rear set up needs to be like 10x more aggressive for it to justify a flare like that.

i think the flare just used too  hard of a line for the extent of the flare itself.  looks good tho, and as mentioned, spacers will help

the work itself is superb, but the execution is so so. just a few things that come to mind, car needs to come down lower and the wheels need to be much more aggressive, quite possibly less tire too. the setup does not match the body at all imo. plus you've got all that flare and it's not even filled up, you could have probably pulled those wheels off with an aggressive pull and camber.

Thanks for your opinion fellas i agree 100% i asked the shop to make the flares like this and i got what i wanted :pat: but as for filling up the rear probably gonna get spacers later on or even maybe gets some new lips for the rears but for now im good, just enjoying the ride :biggthumpup:

Definitely looks good man!  I won't repeat everyone's (and yours) sentiments but I agree as well!  The car looks great though!  Makes me miss my silver GS.

Well fist of all went back to the body shop to redo the fenders because had serious rubbing issues. I asked the shop to do one thing and something completely different. Wait what the hell is that, they cracked the paint and decided to do it again... or did they just go bezerk without any particular reason?

I was wanting to see smitty's wheels on the ride, that why the bump.  I think they did a flare up front and widebody out back...They should've matched it (flare/flare or widebody the whole car)  Which bodyshop did this?

That last pic got my brain sidetracked... that flare/widebody looks really cheap and fucks up those beautiful bodylines. Was that your vision or the bodyshops? I think a little radius front&rear and smoothing out those hard lines might salvage this:shrug:

definitely salvageable.  Have to pick either or and smooth out the hard lines.

And it was my brothers "friend" shop

What do you mean either or ? and what do i do to smooth out the lines???

either do your front fenders to look like the rear (widebody) or change the rear back to look like flares.  I would say its easier to do the front fenders.  The hard lines just means the sharp lines in the widebody.  You can round them off a bit.  Its definitely fixable man.  Don't get discouraged.  The car will be ok.

Thanks for the help guys i think ill change the rear to match the front i don't like the widebody look. But of course that will be way later down the road don't got the funds for it, so for now I'm working with what i got :shrug:

I agree, the front fender lines don't match how the rear were done, its to big of a lip. I lke the way the rear was done, reminds me of the black gs that has the front and rear like this, I cant recall who owns it.

I definitely like the second set of rims better...clean car over all, sorry to hear about the BS with the shop. I cant stand when cats go off the cuff and do work without consulting the owners. Kills the who idea of a persons custom vision

I prefer the rear over the front fenders as well.

I agree, VIP hasn't really caught on here in the East Coast. I think it has to do with the few year gap between Cali and what makes it way or way..

Who knows, maybe someday the East Coast will see some high caliber builds like a gs from Philly, maybe even a large Vip car club with a name like liberty or a car show dedicated to the VIP scene named Black. hell I wouldn't even complain if there was a company that made sick wheels with crazy offsets from the east coast, shoot luxury abstract would be a dope name.

I like the new wheels :biggthumpup:  You don't want Juzzo doing your radius, he'll be drunk and on VSC most of the time if you flew him out....:smiley-rofl:

Or in jail... like past weekend when I traveled to Estonia to participate with our team in an Estonian/Latvian drift challenge, but accidentally drank a tad too much, managed to climb on top of multi-story building in Tallinn's Old Town, probably creating a ruckus while there 'cause someone called the cops/rescue service that roped me down from there. Woke up in jail and I only tested 0.35 on breath analyzer at 6am... just don't remember much of the actual incident   :smiley-rofl:
